CRAP DiRT Rally Club [PS4] Racenet League Events live

Hey all,

As @Eyeseeh50 mentioned earlier in the thread he's busy with work at the moment so he's kindly offered for me to set up the next season.

The current season ends on May 8th so there will only be time for 4 rallies before Dirt 4 is released. Is there any preference for which ones people want? I'm inclined to leave out Greece and Germany but happy to go with other suggestions.

With the car classes I thought a Group B 4WD + 2010s combo could be a fun (or at least speedy) way to cap off the game. Some of the Group B's are a few seconds per stage faster.......but they're also easier to crash. :P So it could be quite a competitive matchup. But again if people would prefer something different (both classes have been used fairly recently) please say so. I think Group A, F2 and R4 are the classes that haven't been used recently.

A big thank you goes to @TRGTspecialist for stepping into the breach and keeping the league going while I am busy.
I like the idea of Group A also.

STAGE TWO!!!!

all the other stages were garbage....

How about a different class of cars for each rally, kind of like a quick-fire Dirt Rally celebration?

Like I said, I'm more than down for R4 I just don't have a chance with group b

R4, Gr. B 4WD, WRC 2010's, Gr. A

So if we went with something like

1st rally: 1960s
2nd: R4
3rd: F2
4th: Group A

Then we'll cover the last 3 classes that haven't yet been run in the league, and we'll have a Group A finale to bring it around full circle. That will provide a good bit of variety but with nothing too death-trappy. :P Would that work for everyone?

-----

Looks like the most popular rally choices so far are Finland, Germany, Wales and Monaco. However I see @Pfei has found out that leagues won't be ready for the launch of Dirt 4:

Now some bad news. DiRT 4 will launch without leagues. Codies will start on Racenet integration after the release of the game.

"We haven't got clubs up and running yet but my hope is that you'll be able to set up league events with stages that won't eat into your saved slots. Part of the reason it is to be post launch is because we want players to be able to generate stages on the website. So you can create a championship of events on dirtgame.com without even having to launch the game. "

There are a couple other comments about leagues not making the cut yet in that thread, can't seem to find them now!

Not entirely sure what this means yet, if league integration is still some ways off then it might not be necessary to shorten the season. But for now I'll assume we're only doing 4 rallies, and we can add more events later on if need be.

Hi everyone! I know I haven't been racing with you guys for a few months but I'm still around lurking!

If you are thinking of making a shorter final season because of the DiRT 4 release: don't. D4 will not have leagues at launch. It's anyone's guess as to when they will be implemented but my intuition tells me it will be at least August before they get it going. From what I have read on the DiRTy Gossip Thread, Codies hasn't even begun working on league functionality yet.

BTW, as long as I'm here, are you guys planning on setting up a PvP league or two? It's gonna be awesome racing live on stages no-one has had the chance to see before they're actually running them!

The rain and mud are over with and we have just one event left to sort the championship out! It's all down to Rally Sweden! I have managed to scrape my way to the top but only by 1 point, oh the pressure.

So here are the standings!

Hope to see a good few of you competing in the final event!

Thanks for the advice 👍 Just to cover myself I'll keep it as a 4 rally season for now because then it'll be easy to at a later point add on another couple of rounds if we wish, or leave it if Codies end up surprising us!

Since CRAP does its own scorekeeping and communicates here you really don't have to worry about how the season is configured so yeah, as you say, changes can be made at any time. You can even cancel a season in the middle of it and re-create the remaining events if you notice something is wrong, or if you want to add more events.

The next (and likely final) CRAP Dirt Rally season has been set up.

It will be a 4 rally season, starting this Tuesday and running through to June 5th, a few days before the release of Dirt 4. We'll be running a different class for each rally, which should be a fitting end for a game that is all about variety. Those classes will be 1960s, R4, F2 (the only classes that haven't yet been run in a CRAP season), and finally Group A, which finishes the league where it started.

By popular vote the rallies chosen are Monaco, Finland, Germany and Wales. So the schedule is:

1) 1960s @ Monaco
2) R4 @ Finland
3) F2 @ Germany
4) Group A @ Wales

As mentioned previously it's transpired that Codies will not have league functionality ready for Dirt 4's launch, and it's not clear yet when they will. Halfway through the season we'll revisit this, see if there's any more info, and discuss whether we might want to extend the season or not. But for now, assume we're just running the 4 above rallies.

The points format will be the same as last season:

- 50 points for 1st, 49 for 2nd, 48 for 3rd.......and so on until all positions/points are allocated
- The last stage on each rally is a power stage; the top 5 on the stage get 5-4-3-2-1 bonus points respectively.

That should cover everything - hope you all enjoy it. Also welcome to the new members @felipe741 @HenryWarnimon @Agusmoreno @SpaceBreed and @SonOfTheBlues

Great job mate, looking good for the end of this era.

So here we are at the end of the 6th full season of the CRAP Dirt Rally Championship.

I intended Rally Sweden to be a bit of a sting in the tail of this season and I seem to have been right for some people ( including myself )
I knew when I went into this final event with such a slim lead over @GOTMAXPOWER that it was going to be a tall order and so I pushed hard. I completed the first 3 stages early in the week but with the pressures of work, I didn't get back to the game until yesterday and what a disaster stage 4 proved to be with two big spins costing nearly 40 seconds. This kind of panicked me and I performed badly in the last two stages. Then I saw @GOTMAXPOWER was through and behind me, Phew!

Well done to everyone who competed throughout the season, it's only with a group of great people like you all that makes this competition fun and challenging, you should all be proud of what you have achieved.

Here are the final results.

From here I hand over the reins to @TRGTspecialist to finish off our time with Dirt Rally. As soon as Dirt 4 becomes available and has clubs/leagues implemented I will begin setting up events in that game which I hope will be an interesting new challenge with the use of the much hyped "your stage" feature.

Thank you all for your support.
