Custom Soundtracks in GT5 - What are you listening to?

I will listen in game lounge tracks while navigating in menus and no music at all during races and replays. I like it that way.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I'm assuming this has been confirmed by PD that it's in GT5 then? If so I'm definately going to be playing some of the songs from the other GT games, feeder is coming back to gran turismo for me!

Pretty much anything by Them Crooked Vultures, Kasabian, Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters and the odd bit of Bloc Party.

I'm trying to find a place to download the gt3 songs. Perfect songs to listen to when playing gt5.

Probably a very odd mix for me, seeing as the playlist on my Sony Ericsson W350i often hops between Green Day, Linkin Park, Eminem and sometimes dance music.

So they spend millions of pounds on game development, and you hand over £40 or whatever to buy the game, only to go and drop their carefully chosen music and substitute your own?! OK, so I may not love every single track, but the kind of music I listen to while driving my car in real life is not exactly the kind of music I'd necessarily want to hear when playing a driving game. I trust their judgement.

Yeah I agree, I usually listen to some pretty heavy rock in the car. However everything I have heard in the official trailers sounds pretty good so I will probably just stick with that.

I mean don't get me wrong, I can see why people like to play their own music, but apart from wanting to enjoy the game they way developers intended, I can't be bothered messing about with playlists or whatever.

But after playing "insert whatever GT game" for hundreds upon hundreds of hours the play list in the actual game becomes warn out for many. I usually don't have a problem with the type of music present in the games but eventually they do wear you down.

Sometimes I wish GT had something along the lines of GT Radio, a station with updated racing news and music, even with our custom soundtracks integrated.

Can you completely turn the music off?

I have tried to find it in prologue but I can't see the option. TBH as long as the engines are sounding good I would go for that.

Yes, the race music can be turned off. In fact, its the first thing I did on the game.

I generally just like to turn the music off and listen to whatever vtec thing i'm driving scream.

But I'll admit when doing 4h endurance events it would be nice to have your own playlist as yes the music that comes with the game is alright but I often find it annoying.

I'll just use the default music with GT5 for the first few months and then afterwards I'll just use no music at all or just the ones I'm in the mood for. Something along those lines :)

Me too, after a while I turn the music off. I usually enjoy racing as it is with focus on the sounds. But I reserve the music listening to the replays most of the time.

But being able to play my own stuff over it might tempt me to have music while playing sometimes.
