Race A hot lapping this morning.

3.02.037 with BB at +2. Will start to fine tune this now. Done about 15 laps. Bit slow going.

I tired a couple of N100 cars yesterday at this track to prep for it. The Toyota S-FR would give faster laps and could have been more fun.

I see the race settings have slipstream as strong. Could be interesting into turn 1!

Down to A/B. Just crazy. Again, I give all this room while race to a Mustang. Lap 4, he parks the car on T2. Come on, man!

2. has the slowdown penalty area actually improved racing?

I'd say so, definitely. No more "tactical" slowdowns, where drivers come off the gas for a couple of seconds, then hit it again and unghost just as another driver comes up behind them, getting a nudge forward and often a penalty for the driver behind. I think this way is much better.

I still got semi divebombed in my last one. I saw some red and yellow behind me and just watched the time behind. Eyes forward. Reward for being too much of a fair racer.

My lap time in race C got deleted? Lol

Got a 1:14, then the next race it was blank like I hadn’t set a lap

I’m guessing this is a bug of some sort as others in the lobby suffered with it too

Race C is interesting, but is it just me or is the sound a little buggy? Found myself barely able to hear my own engine whenever I was close to another car. Made it difficult to get into a rhythm.

1. i played race A last night and my clutch and shifter had no effect, have they modified this for everyone now to disable the advantage in shifting manual users had?
The H pattern shifter is disabled in Sport mode for that very reason. You can still use it in online lobbies and offline, but not the Sport mode races. Unfortunate but hey whaddya do.

Wow, that was great! Ignored my own advice, did a QT which put me 8th out of 15 in the race. I fully expected to get pranged from behind at the first corner, but didn't and amazingly, there were no contacts in front of me either. Eventually finished 6th after getting as "high" as 5th for a bit..... and earned a whopping (nearly) 400 DR! And got a clean race star! No big deal for most of you, but a real progress marker for me!!

Clean racing makes it so much more enjoyable..... well see how long it lasts!

EDIT - just to add this was gr.3 RBR!

2:59.645 - A Race. Applying some brake and throttle can make the last two turns a little easier to deal with. The hairpin and the last two turns are the only places where braking is needed. BB +2. VERDICT: 2/10, I could probably get a girlfriend 5 years from now and still wouldn't reach the end of the straightaway.

1:28.770 - Race B with the Dinka Jester Honda NSX Gr. 3. BB -2. Looks like going super wide on turn 1 isn't a great idea for better times, which is good. NSX Gr. 3 is a little twitchy at times, but I finally get to drive this car around again and show off the livery that is based on its Grand Theft Auto counterpart. <3 8/10

1:10.866 - Race C. BB +1. The F1500 is absolutely nuts. You really need to know what you're doing to keep it in control.. because holy 🤬, I spun out so many times. 7/10. It's great to see Brands Hatch back, and to race with the F1500, but I can see some people get turned off by how hard it is to control this monster, which deducts some points.

There was bug with tyres, all qualys were resetted. And after the reset, the grip seems better. did not get under 1.16 thou.

I think that the guys/girls that make these daily races, especially this hatch one, are complete tools.
"hey!! people want some european/american track. LETS GIVE THEM ONE!!! BUTT becouse they got bored to japan tracks, LETS PUT THIS POS FORMULA for car" / PD

I think we should just call it the Jester from now on. After all, there are so many people in Sport Mode who think they're playing GTA... :P

Well I was wrong with the Super Formula prediction. The last time I drove the F1500-T it was an absolute deathtrap, I could not keep it in a straight line. So I decided to try and work out how to drive it, and when I got round to drive it felt much easier to drive. It was still a challenge but I guess the latest physics patch made quite a difference.

Wow, this thread moves fast.

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I find Race A to be a fun setup. I thought I'd use my wheel for a change to qualify and there's so much time you can buy here. I find staying in a high gear around the corners seems to gain a considerable amount of time while dropping speed can hurt considerably around the twisty straight. Very fun and interesting car to drive.

My time is pretty bad so far at 3:05.2  but it was fun and I maybe got slightly better at using a wheel so no real loss. I'll probably switch back to my controller to see how far I'm off.

Edit: Down to 3:01.9 with the controller so I guess I'll take it.

I can control it, it was everyone else that made me quit this one. Many were impatient with the differences in acceleration. I caught cars ahead of me, but have to feather the throttle so I don't hit the car ahead. Players behind and to the side, don't care. They see a slower car and immediately must win the race 15th position.

So 5 months ago i rage quit playing GTSport, but im bored of other games now. A quick browse of this forum and its not looking good, with the same complaints of a bad penalty system and seriously dirty drivers floating around. A couple of quick questions. 1. i played race A last night and my clutch and shifter had no effect, have they modified this for everyone now to disable the advantage in shifting manual users had? and 2. has the slowdown penalty area actually improved racing? and 3. the only race that appeals to me this week is race B, have the Red Bull Ring track limits been fixed?

It depends what level you race in. If you mostly get in races with the same DR and don't mind door banging than it's do-able. It's not a contact free sport anymore as penalties only trigger when someone gets forcibly bumped off road. Small nudges don't count. Bumps that push you wide so the other car can pass don't count. Penalty times are lower as well now and still in no way compensate for ending up in a sand trap,

With different DR in a room, the lower DR still gets the benefit of the doubt, or rather the higher DR is more likely to end up with SR Down and time penalty. It still happens that you get penalized when the car in front screws up, spins and you can't avoid them as they swipe you off the track.

Track limits are more lenient as well now. Short cut penalties are standardized to 0.5 sec, sometimes you can trigger a 1.0 sec penalty or 1.5 even. Yet no more 8.3 sec for nicking a bit of the inside at high speed. Beware that the penalty zone isn't all that balanced. Last week on Suzuka a 1.0 sec penalty would lose you 2.3 real seconds, 3 sec penalty would lose you 5.6 seconds.

The penalty zone has improved racing on the track. No more slowing down and ghosting / unghosting in the race. However be careful at the penalty zone as those ghost can hit you. As soon as the timer is done yet the other cars are still slow and appear ghosted, they actually aren't for you. You can collide with them without any effect to the ghosted car, except you get SR down and lose most of your speed. Some people have caught on and use this to block people in the penalty zone. With multiple cars serving penalties it becomes a high speed moving chicane zone.

So is it actually improved over all. 1 big step forward (penalty zones), 2 little steps back (more lenient penalties, ghosting issues in penalty zone)

Effect on the track: A lot of bumping and grinding in corners, but less dive bombing.

I guess I'll go dress up the F1500. The last time I drove that was at Interlagos almost a year ago. That was a bump fest.

Standing starts are great. Really nullifies the impact when i only qualify with a 1:12.5. Race C is great fun, too bad we didn't have it over the Easter long weekend.

Well, your time is much better than mine. Got my qualy down to 1:15.3.. Its understeer in to corners, open little throttle and spin. Nice balance.

Just dont get how pd manages to ruin these setups. In F1500 races offline, it was easy to get times around 1:10.xxx. Butt nooo not in online, where is my grip PD??? :banghead:

So anyone know the next week races? Or is the ACC released on ps4 already

Race A.
Started pole. **** happened in the middle. Won...

Brilliant example of why you shouldn't give up, even when all looks lost!! 👍👍👍

Unless of course you're parked in a sandpit, facing the wrong way and waiting to be "re-set"..... then you can give up!

Wait, so you make HORRIBLE move, nerf the guy into the wall and he cops 3 seconds.

That's RIDICULOUS.
