Definitely! SF19 be sure to have wake. Try following around another car through the essess of Suzuka, you'll notice massive understeer.
That might explain why driving the SF at Suzuka was so frustrating for me. I'd usually start in the Top 10 to Top 5, and often throw the entire race away by getting unpredictable moments of understeer and ending up way off track. I didn't even know GT Sport had "dirty air" like that. I never really noticed it at Brands in the 1500T because I'm unusually good in that car (38th fastest time in the Americas for that race - albeit about 4s off Igor Fraga's time :boggled:) so I always started near the front and ran most of the race in clean air.

I've been on GT Sport for about 4 hours and haven't raced yet. I had an idea for a livery, and it always takes longer than I expect. The new livery is a strategy to distract the other drivers. Here I am testing it out at Le Mans. I call it the Chickmobile.
Man after my own heart. Been back in the Infowars/dabbing unicorn AMG and the distraction is real. It just works.

1 Race A this morning.

QT still 59.409. Got me P2. Started well. 3rd turn, went too hard at Graham Hill Bend, ended up on the grass on the other side of the road. Dropped to near the back. Got some good laps in after that, made it back up to 5th. +200 DR put me above 20,000 for the first time. :D

Oooooh- I wanna see it!
Didn't share it cos I was trying to smash liveries onto g3 cars as quick as I could but ended up putting a bit more time into it cos the paint came out nice. Dinner break rn, afterwards ill get a pic up and tag ya, i'll gallery it for the boys, too.

not the world's best livery designer though.

Excellent- thank you.

Had to test that 356 just because its Porsche...
First it felt very slippery, was thinking that this is just stupid. But for some reason just kept driving, very addicting little car.
Hats off for Pigems (and anyone else) to put it under 59sec  Got close but still..
My qualy 0:59.302

Allso had few laps with sf again, after 356 it felt like rocket ship. No improvement there...

I guess another part of the problem is that my quota of mistakes is much higher than normal – usually I’m able to churn out laps with little to no problem, but at Autopolis I had to abort at least 50% of my laps. Bloody annoying, and not exactly good for my confidence. I know things are different in a racing situation, but still… not really comfortable.

I suggest using a different braking point during live races. For example, if I'm in the lead and running a safe lap because I have a 5 second gap on the chasing car, then I line up my braking marker with the nose of my car. If I'm trying to catch up, I line my rear bumper up with the braking marker. If there is a corner I'm more inconsistent with, then in a live race I hit the braking mark with my nose, etc, etc.

Essentially, have a fast version of your racing line and have a safe version, dynamically alternating your approach to each turn as needed.

I've been doing the RB Standard at la Sarthe for my bux. 230,000 for just over 8 mins with no fafing around with clean race bonuses or handicaps. best lap so far 2:38.xxx 👍. Another 2.5 mil to go for my next car :sly:. Then on to qualifying for the much slower pace at race B and trying to work out why I can't take from the Porche curves to the Ford chicane in 7th with my foot on the floor in the Gr.3 cars .
Use a Gr.1 car at Monza for 9 minutes 330k Clean. No rubber banding AI at all. You'll clear the AI on the first lap and usually lap the Group C Porsche.

Excellent- thank you.
Here you go.

My PSN is in my sig if you'd like to steal it.

DTG is my ultimate playground ahead of Autopolis. TCR Australia this weekend and I'll be making some Gr.4 Renault, Subaru(already made liveries for the Gr.3 version), VW and maybe TT liveries, like the teams that are running those brands. Can't wait.

Another thing I trailed this week: running only two races per day. It's worked out beautifully for me. I'm not stressing. I stay relaxed without having to up a score and allowing myself to race cars than beat other cars.

Tbh I didn’t think the physics in this game were that advanced. Using your example, I thought it was just the extra speed from the slipstream making the car react differently.
This is what I think also, but some people swear it’s dirty air.

Anybody else use the pre-race chats to get inside people's heads, ala Muhammad Ali?
When I see someone I have a problem with, I like to go with a veiled threat. Sometimes before a race, I'll simply tell em "Buckle up". Usually works pretty well. Especially if it's because of something that they did a long time ago, and they don't remember me. A lot of times, they'll end up driving right off the track when I get near them.

So I wanted to test the Porsche on Race A with CSA for science and found it couldn't be selected/grayed out. Some people were saying CSA is available for all daily races a day ago but so we're clear, you can only use it on Race B/C and not Race A. Hopefully someone will find this knowledge useful.

Maybe PD are only allowing it to be used with more powerful car classes? I guess next week will shed more light.

Race selection has been good lately. 👍

I hope Race A is a selection like Suzuka East N300 was a few weeks ago.
BoP is on for next week's race A so maybe it will

On a side note my time for race B is 3:57.000 exact. I have a low 56 as optimal but don't know whether I wanna change that time

The result of race one, this week. Get in!!!

Noticed a couple of things tonight.

1. The GTR is a big old boy.
2. The F1 is bloody quick.

I'm thinking the move into the first Mulsanne chicane on lap two was a little over aggressive on my part. But, in the heat of the moment we all make silly mistakes once in a while. As soon as I made the move, I knew we'd touch. He didn't seem bothered by it post race, as I think he knew it wasn't malicous. We thanked each other for the otherwise really fun race, and went our seperate ways. Unfortunate that he picked up a penalty through (I think) Corvette. Would have been a very close finish, otherwise. Blue S's for me and 2nd. Sorted.

Aaaand, now it's bedtime. Work early in the morning.

Oh most definitely.. usually say that I'll ease it in like a gentleman

The DR has changed. I'm at 12,590, and rated at DR C. Previously, when I was at 11,722, I was DR B. :odd:

@Milouse adjust your scales.

What's your SR? If you're below SR.C you'll stay DR.C while your actual points keep going up. It's one of those 'what's the point' things.

Got the GT-R cleared, don't like that car much but for completion sake

It's got a great feature on the back for Calcifer though.

I might have started racing too soon tonight. 20:50 race in SR.S very dirty. First red rating for me in a long time thanks to draft bumping. The 2 that punted me off left with a red A and a red B. My SR dropped a few points to just below 90 again (87).

One milestone completed today, all my GR.3 cars have a livery now. Time to focus on the racing part!

What's wrong with SR.S though. I haven't seen this many dive bombs since Monday. SR.B was much cleaner than this. Another clean race in a non-contender despite getting punted off again.
xGvd.jpg

+1 SR for that to 92. I conceded a position since I suspected an incoming dive bomb and was not disappointed. The bomber racked up 2 sec in shortcut penalties, diving cars that weren't there? So I just passed him at the next penalty zone.

Low SR rooms, watch out for early braking. High SR rooms, expect a dive in every corner.

I’m still skeptical about it. Tried seeing if PD ever commented on this but I found nothing.

Can slipstream affect your braking that much? Same result anyway, less down force, less stopping power, less grip while cornering.

Adding the Beetle to the list. Slow, useless. Pass a couple cars through the chicane or with a better corner exit and they all drive past again. My best lap in this one (2 races) was 4:05.
0Gvd.jpg

So many GR.3 cars, so few that can keep up. Back to 99 SR from 8 on race B only, another milestone achieved.

Aww, clean streak broken, was up to 4. An Audi lost control, bumped me into the grass but somehow I got a 3 sec penalty as there was no room to actually go off track yet on the left (before Indianapolis) while he got spooked and dove into a shortcut on the fast right. -6 SR for that. That's 2 clean races again to get back to 99 lol.

WRX cleared.

I did not expect to have the fastest lap in that, it was only a 4:05.1 same as the Beetle. I guess there was some fighting at the front. It's good for late braking and out cornering, good corner exits, but you'll just be providing the faster cars with a draft boost. Doesn't stand a chance on the straights. SR +4, to 97.

Shame no one will see the side of your car while racing, unless you spin out!
