Lexus RCF for Race C, quali is a 15.5, rocket ship on top speed but early braking and late acceleration needed, pretty much the opposite of the Megane
 
Started last. Been a while since I've raced a pack to the line.

Got two top tens and clean races. I'm happy.

Decided to try the C race with the Viper. Long story short, I need to see a therapist. The Viper is a joke and made me have a breakdown. :nervous::nervous::nervous:
Understeery as heck, and gets triggered if it touches a single blade of grass and spins me back to 1994.
 
Raced a few races. I had a bad race. I missed my braking point at T1 and sent a dude flying off. I waited for him. Later that race, someone pitted me on that turn before the bus stop. He waited surprisingly.

I did get 2nd again in another race. I gotta get 1st soon lol.

Fun fact: Rizla isn't actually the name, kinda. It's "Rizla+" because they were originally rice (riz, in French) paper and made by the Lacroix (croix = cross, in French) family - so they're Rizla+, pronounced Riz Lacroix.

Thank you to those who watched my stream! I had a blast tonight! Couldn't believe I won 4 from 4 tonight, got lucky a couple of times but had to be there to claim it. Did a video around my final race of the night which was a very close battle down to the end!

 
I cant get under 1.17.4 with the Lancer for the life of me. Tried the 86 for half an hour. It blasts through the chicane but cant get iT working for me otherwise.... its a probleem not starting in the top 10, although less then other tracks because of people making a lot of mistakes here

Gearing is very important for Goodwood, as it's pretty fast all the way round. I find the Evo is just lacking power in the higher gears. Although I love its sharp steering, it is never going to be quick enough. The Alfa 4C has exquisite steering and is much quicker.

I've found the Ferrari to be the most stable and predictable, but my favourite ride so far is the Aston Vantage. The sound is great and you can really get the most out of the engine. Posting regular 1.17 laps in races.

I've been able to hit my fastest QT in the 4C although I don't think it's that great for racing in, from my experience. I only have a small sample size of 3 races but I'm often bump drafted by impatient Italias who think they have the "right" to my position so I'm considering switching for something quicker or equal to the Italia on the straights.

I'd rather use something other than the Italia since everyone is using it and that's kind of boring. I might try the Huracan or Veyron instead.
 
First race today, chaos lap one. I get bumped at least 6 times. One of the bumpers goes off, 3 sec penalty. Then I get bumped before the chicane by a car muscling through, who then clips the wall within the 3 second window, another 2 sec. 5 sec to serve back to nearly last. Oh well, I passed them later, finished 8th, try again for clean race bonus. Perhaps go back to trundling behind for the first lap instead of in the middle of the race to go off first in the first lap :lol:

Second race, a draft tap from behind kills the clean race bonus. The rest goes fine until lap 14th, I'm in 4th, touch a bit of kerb at the right where the wall appears on the left. Car swerves wildly, crashes into the wall, bounces back and jumps over the road dukes of hazard style. I finish 8th.

No stop attempt next in the Citroen.

Gave the SLS a go around Goodwood, managed my best quali lap so far and also a no stop though it did require fuel mix 2 + short shifting for most of the race.

I've noticed a few people singing the virtues of the 4C, and more power to them, but my experience has been that it's no where near as stable and "point and shoot" as it used to be. I was 2s faster with the trophy, and during the race too. I just did some laps with the Viper, because someone else said what a terrible car it was, and beat my trophy time. I guess it comes down to driving style I guess. I'm finding using the same basic style as I used at Brands seems to be working for me.

weird to hear ZigZags being called proper, theyve always been kinda offbrand in the UK. Rizla reigns supreme here for the most part...

anyway while I'm here, I've managed to do absolutely no racing so far today as I wanna choose a new manufacturer and no one in the FIA thread has given suggestions... Really wanna start getting used to a particular gr 3 car and try do the season a little more consistently so I don't wanna drive til I've picked xD
 
Interesting. No stop in the Citroen GT pretty much requires FM2 and short shifting all the way, 1:19 laps on average, best of 1:18.5. I got into 5th after everyone pitted, finished 7th. Still no clean bonus cause of 2 Brazillian taps from behind. However my race time was faster than my earlier two races in the Huracan and also faster than the race I won yesterday. It equalled the time of the race I finished in second with clean race bonus.

I didn't get bumped off though which makes a big difference. Starting from the back the first bunch of laps are always slow anyway, so a no stop doesn't lose any time in the first part. From the front it might also work as you can draft anyone that passes. It's more fun to pass people on the track though, instead of when they pit.

I’m not sure if it’s still the case, but growing up around here the ZigZag white reigned supreme for a long time, stores would have boxes of ZZW’s and maybe a single box of the other brands. :)
 
Goodwood is quite fun isn't it, it's a different kind of track and reminds me a bit of the original Silverstone. Now, imagine if we had say ... Group 5 Zakspeeds and BMW's to throw around this track, it would be IMMENSE!

I found the M4 quite nice but she ran out of fuel with half a lap left dammit. Dropped from p4 to p11 :banghead:
