A - N200 at Autopolis 3 laps
B - Gr.3 at Maggiore GP 4 laps
C - Gr.X at Fuji 14 laps

So they've decided to go with Maggiore after releasing 6 new tracks... You've done it again PD.

If race C is indeed Super Formula, it should be a fun week. But T1 is going to be punt city

Good morning!
After last nights decision to opt out, I had time for some five voyages in country on race b!
Half of S America was chasing the prancing horse in front of them!
There was good, there was bad, and yes there was ugly!
I managed some podiums, but no wins!
The theme was ‘from prancing horse to galloping Mustang!’
Oh yes, I saved the Mustang for last...tcs 2, run tight and use the muscle.
Good fun and I got back to 99 from 93 last night!
Between the prancing horse and galloping Mustang I was able to keep S America at bay today!Replays are shared in game...

Man, my optimal lap time on Brands is 1min30s154. It's driving me nuts not being able to achieve anything close to it: my very best at the moment is 1min31s0.

Amazing how a seemingly simple track layout can be such a challenge to get it right.

So my plan for next week looks like...

1) Hot lap Maggiore in the Vantage until I'm sick of it.
2) Race it for as many attempts as it takes to descend back to DR/D
3) Jump in whatever random lobby combination @sturk0167 generates once everyone else is bored of Japan...

And that'll be when the random genny gives us a Super Formula... At Fuji... Lobby just to spite us all...

I like how the game doesn’t reset you at crucial moments. I was in second at Race C with a few laps to go. I slipped up on the second to last turn and went wide and spun. I was expecting a reset but the game doesn’t until half the grid pass me

Every time N200 comes up, I swell with futile hope for the Pontiac. Yup, I've got redneck blood in me.

It's a shame how badly the engine was strangled by emission restrictions in the mid-70s. That 400 cu in engine could easily be tuned to 350-400 horsepower.

Sandwich is nice. But I know what you mean. We're Canterbury. Pretentious hipster-ville. You know. The worst kind. We have burgers at least. But they are flipping pricey.

My wifey (also a Sarah) is from the Lake District. So we do try to get up north for the scenery as and when we can!

We went to Canterbury the day after my birthday last year, during a week of historical sight seeing in Kent (I history geeked. Hard.) nice place to visit. But yeah, it did strike me as a bit pretentious. That said, as a northern Welshman, that applies to most things I see in southern England

My overriding memory of my first trip to Kent is definitely "Christ, it's flat. No wonder Sarah complains about all the hills at home."

Nefyn's a nice little town. Surrounding area is great if you like to dabble with landscape photography.

Well, for one thing it's gorgeous. And It simply can't be worse than the Camaro

I don't have a lot of free time to engage on Sport mode, so I have to stick with just one event per week. If I don't get along with the N200 car they choose, I guess I'll have to jump for the B event, as I'm doing this week.

I'm with voodoovaj on the Meta car. Only in attitude you understand, not ability.

I absolutely love the Trophy but, after a few races, I can't drive it this week.

However, I have had some decent results with the Evo, the Scooby, the 86 and even the RC F!

It's getting a bit boring having to run the same circuits over and over again, having to constantly set a good quali time over the week because the bar keeps rising, cars becoming meta and dominating lobbies... I miss the feeling of waking up to something new every day.

I wouldn’t mind if Daily Race A changed every day, let the other two run all week though. I’ve said it before but if they would just change the races on different days it would make a world of difference. For example Race A changes on Mondays, B on Wednesdays and C on Fridays, then it’s a new race every other day and they’re still weekly races for the guys who do like to hot lap and chase better times.

Oh and BTW, you know you just complained about the fact that the game is making/has made you a better driver right? What’s not to like about that?

On the topic of Metas, I prefer to drive my nails with a hammer so I use whatever car works best on a given track. But I also understand that some guys are looking to increase the challenge or just want to drive their favourite cars, to each their own.

I really enjoy beating people in cars that nobody thinks would be that quick. A lot of satisfaction in that.

Improved my Daily Race B time to 1:29.329 but I'm still losing 6 tenths in sectors 4 & 5. I see what the faster guys are doing but I can't replicate that over a complete lap. I can do it on different laps but I can't put the entire thing together. My Optimal is at 1:28.7xx and not being able to reach that time is so frustrating.

I understand that it can make me a better driver but I'm just losing personal enjoyment.

It doesn't feel like a qualifying session anymore, it's like time trial now. The good thing about the "Daily" Daily Races is that if you were to properly chase for a top time, you wouldn't have all the time in the world to do it.

I wish they would do split Weekly/Daily Races but I doubt it'll happen.

Torn on it if I'm honest.

If I was flying solo and literally just arcading, then a different race everyday would probably be my cup of tea.

But, with you guys here to chat, get tips from and dare I say compete with. I do get a buzz out of the 'Time Trial' environment. I find it just as much fun as the racing knowing I get a week's worth of serious progress through input and output here.

And was there this much banter in this thread beforehand with daily changes? A week long 'focus' surely makes for an easier and more consistent community chat than a daily reset?

I remember at the time my theory was that it would result in more skilled driving and a more refined penalty system. But based on what I've seen over a year. I'd say I was wrong.

But I still think it made sense to try something different once in a while. Don't know why there are so locked into the current format like it's the law or something when they made the earlier change from Dailies like it was no big deal.

Regarding the weekly vs daily changes, I prefer the weekly like we have now. More time to push each other faster and have discussions on tactics.

Agreed. I also think quali needs to be based on the time to do 2-3 laps. This prevents the lucky lap guys from getting up front and causing havoc when they suck in a race.
