You and your canadian clone over there are literally trying to argue with me that no stop races (something that is notoriously boring) are more exciting than balls to the wall full on racing...
If that were the case then F1 wouldn't have started introducing tyres that degraded way sooner, forcing more stops to try and make the races more exciting because millions of fans were complaining how stale it had become.
If PD made a change to the C races... and made one stops more competitive by allowing the use of multiple tyre compounds I can guarantee right now 99.9% of people will do a one stop...because the ability to go all out all the time, is far more exciting than cruising around at 80% just so you can get another boring win.
You should watch motogp then. Exciting as heck and no stops to spoil the fun. Rarely is there a boring race, because they don't have turbulent downforce air to worry about.
Here's the highlights from Assen 2018, but the races tend to be like this more often than not...and they are racing while trying to conserve their tires. They also run a different map in races because of fuel restrictions.
BTW, before dismissing motogp because it's motorcycles, GTSport racing is MOST similar to motogp than any other type of racing. Just watch the highlights and the action will seem VERY familiar. (imho of course)
If driver A is running, let's say in this case, low to mid 1:21's and driver B is also running low to mid 1:21's, why do you believe this is boring if one driver does not stop? And boring to whom? When I know the other driver is not stopping, we sure as heck do race but we have to be smart about it. We can't be mindless morons throwing caution to the wind.
Sounds like sour grapes to me. Just so you know, every Race C is run this way. Races with a stop require the same conservation. Maybe not to the same degree, and maybe not in the lower ranks, but it's rare that I ever see a Race C winner be the person who went pedal to the metal, burned everything by stop 1, then did it all over again.
And to your point about the tires, no. If I had the chance to use mediums, I would no stop on mediums instead of the hards. Don't assume the non stoppers couldn't make the tires last. In the races where we are given a choice, you had better believe we try to figure out when it's best to use each compound.
For what it's worth, I've seen people make a one stop strategy work in Race C.
In general I like that GT Sport mixes up balls to the wall racing and a slower more considered style of racing. That should please everyone, and I'm happy with whatever strategy my fellow racers are using. I've never thought less of someone for using a different strategy to me. That's just plain odd.
Yep. It's happened in my races as well. Those guys do a very good job of making it work
