Now I'm no Paul Tracy...but the last couple times out I've been doing well..with decently ranked racers. Idfk. I do quit the odd time...I just want to have fun

I've created a Maggiore lobby if anyone is up for some Sunday morning practice for next week.

Room ID: 0475-4217-3093-6842-7588

This room now gone.

Any ideas what would be the car on race C tomorrow on Fuji? (Kudosprime says group X one make, so I assume the new red bull maybe?..)

Is it possible that I have to adjust the Brake balance from track to track on the same car?

Maybe Super Formula with Toyota engine. Toyota own the Fuji race track.

That's the best race I've seen in a while. If anyone had qualified higher than you guys he would have msged you and say push him off, he is slow and will be in the way.

Thank you sir! I posted another one that is on the bottom of the previous page of this thread. Didn’t win it, but it’s another nice fight from the top 3. Also YT link in my signature with a bunch more. Thanks for supporting!

It all depends on how the other racers are placed in Dr compared to you. If people with lower Dr than you came in before you, you get Dr down.
Does the car number tell us who has the higher DR?

That's something else that needs pinning somewhere! Improving your position from where you start has no bearing on DR. It's all about where you finish compared to the Driver Ratings of those in your race. The below explains it brilliantly. These are not my words but those of @Famine

For every car you finish in front of you gain:
80 - ((Player DR - Rival DR))/500)DR

For every car you finish behind, you lose:
80 + ((Player DR - Rival DR))/500)DR

If you have, say, 20,000 DR and you finish one place ahead of a driver with, oooh, 50,000 DR, you gain 140 DR from them (and they lose 140 DR to you). You also gain that if you finish two places ahead, or three, or five, or 19. If you beat someone with 10,000 DR by one place, you gain 60 DR from them.

Here you go, @Famine tells the gospel

Does the car number tell us who has the higher DR?
The best answer to this is "maybe, but it depends".

The car door numbers are the players' DR ranked alphabetically. That means that someone with a DR of 9 (and thus DR D) would be ranked ahead of someone with a DR of 75,000 (and thus DR A+). If everyone in the lobby is DR B (10,000) or higher then the car door number should accurately reflect the drivers' rankings (because there's no difference ranking 10000-75000 alphabetically to numerically) but there might be some edge cases where it may not.

Is it possible that I have to adjust the Brake balance from track to track on the same car?

Yeh. I find that on some tracks I can get away with BB 0, but others like Bathurst, I have the BB all the way forward to make the turn into the chase at the end of Conrod. A lot depends on your driving style too.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I am currently watching the British GP pre-race, and they just finished discussing how the drivers are going to manage their tires to avoid graining.

So, there you go, even F1, with their pit stops and all, you still have to manage the tires and drive so as not to burn up your resources.

Is it possible that I have to adjust the Brake balance from track to track on the same car?

Yes it's possible, but I would not say it's definitely necessary. With the introduction of Sardegna, I am finding it a great place to set your BB. I'm finding that on cars that I've had to adjust a lot, Sardegna seems to highlight a best setup.

That best setup SHOULD work everywhere, but it may not. Sometimes, the balance that gives you a best single lap pace may also be inconsistent, slowing you down over the length of the race.

Some people change it corner to corner :D. I just try to make the most consistent setting work on all tracks by getting used to it.

Early morning camaro racing... going well so far, 3 races three three star finishes. I am gonna miss this race. The last two weeks have been really enjoyable for me, i hope whatever is in store next week is another fun combo. I have done a few laps around that track though and i find it a bit awkward...

No stop works on race C, I did a race with the Ferrari yesterday evening, started last, gained 12 places without ever overtaking anyone. It's easy, consistent, no risk to SR. It's also boring, one race and enough. Yet when I did a one stop in the Porsche I did have much faster laps but only gained 2 places due to getting bumped off while overtaking and then a long pit stop.

Mixing the two strategies creates problems. Having faster qualifiers driving slow to conserve while a one stop has to go extra fast to make up time from the pit stop creates impatient overtaking manoevers. No stop, don't have to overtake anyone, just be slightly in the way to slow traffic down and otherwise draft. One stop, have to brake the draft asap and overtake the same people twice. Mandating one pit stop, yet allow different tire choices to make the timing of the pit stop the strategic factor would lead to better races. It should not be whether you should stop, it should be when should you stop. PD needs to increase fuel use and up the fuel flow rate with the same multiplier in the pit to even things out. Or start with less fuel.

Completely off topic but the British GP has been brilliant. Amazing racing and no SR downs so far!

It’s not often that I do Race A, but I’ve done a few recently and this one was a lot of fun. First two laps are me catching up and looking for openings after I got caught sleeping at the start. Laps 3 and 4 turn into a nice 3-way fight for the lead. Been having a lot of fun in this new Camaro. Enjoy!

Holy crap! I looked terrible there.

Sincere apologies, Winn, but allow me to explain...

I've been seeing Bob on a daily basis for about a month. He gets bashed around pretty badly sometimes. Three races previous to that one, he said to me in the post-race chat, "I am forever behind you :( " The very next race he had leap-frogged my qualifying time, and I told him I would help him. Unfortunately, he lost it on his own. Next race was your "sleepy start", and I snuck it in there.

Trying to protect Bob and not pass him, as well as holding you off, all while maintaining pace, was actually quite difficult. I was blocking but was trying not to be dirty. Obviously, I couldn't cleanly hold you back anymore on Lap 4. And that was NOT a divebomb at the end, I promise.

Again, apologies... I really wanted to give Bob a win. Every race I've had with you has always been excellent and fair, so thanks for that. Come down to Daily A more often.

Hey it’s you! No worries man, like I said in the post race chat, we were all racing hard and it was some great fun. I raced Bob the day prior too and we had some good ones but that was the first I saw him win. Don’t sweat that final turn, I know these cars are not nimble and for me they are very difficult to drive, so I always anticipate the late brake and saw you coming. In fact I nearly did the same thing in the next video I posted later in the thread, but barely saved it. Great racing with you bud!

@RacingGrandpa, @Invisigoth, @Voodoovaj: I run a few Maggiore test laps with the Genesis and the 2nd and 4th corner is 1000% understeer for me with the Sardegna brake setup. Or I just using the wrong lines... I think it's time to watch some tutorial videos on youtube :) .
I'm not that fast but if you go slow in-fast out it helps to reduce understeer. Late apex too

Wow! Never thought I'd see you posting here. That's cool, man. No longer just a voyeur, huh?
Trying to block Winnie is definitely a tall task. Looked like a pretty good race, though. 👍

Race C has been great this week, and I really got on well with the Porsche and Beetle, and even enjoyed the FIA race there having learnt perhaps not the best lines, but my best lines around that track, and some good cutback points where other people come in hot on the inside. For me the racing got a lot cleaner towards the end of the week.
The first day was hilarious seeing multiple cars synchronised going off at all the usual places, but the sudden braking from drivers unsure of the blind corners you can floor it through made the races unpredictable. The few days after everyone had worked out how to drive dirty and avoid penalties, and by the end of the week how to avoid each other. Had some fantastic close racing here this weekend bumper to bumper and side by side but clean! Love those laps where you are both pushing your skill and leaving each other room, compromising each others lines like high speed chess.

Hey Man! Good to see you finally signed up, Welcome Aboard.

Had my first bad Race C of the week. Went SR 99 > 79 in one because a French idiot decided on the downward curve halfway round the track to try to push me into the wall, but instead lightly tapped my front wing and sent himself into the wall. I got the 3s penalty. I had that coupled with people who refused to pass normally. I was running FM4 and leaving room to be passed when they're faster, they thank me by darting wide on exits of corners using their car to push my nose into the sand (and get no penalty, but I get SR down) or trying to dive in front of me asap on straights them immediately slam their brakes (I get SR down for managing to brake quickly enough I lightly tap causing no change of course for either of us). It's so different from every other Race C I've had, I don't understand it... and now I'm down in SR A again. Seriously ridiculous.
Now to try to salvage my SR S. Hopefully this isn't the game forcing me into another downward spiral impossible to recover for the next 2 weeks no matter how clean I drive, which is typically what happens as soon as I fall below SR 97.
Now at SR 76 after a 5th Race C - Race 4 took me up to S again but Race 5 made me fall because in the braking zone the guy behind rammed me into someone ahead and I got 5s penalty out of it, the guy who didn't even brake behind me got off free ahead of us both.
When the race is good it's good, but when's it's not good it's pretty awful. I don't think it's right or fair to lose SR while driving properly and giving room because others are incapable of doing the same. How is it my fault that I'm maintaining the outside line on a corner because someone else had the inside line, but then they go wayward halfway round without warning and push me into the sand?

Gonna get my Race A on for a bit. I’ve had a blast at Brands this morning. A few clean races and a podium(3rd).

I may go back and see if I can get my DR up C.

No more races, but have been doing laps at brands. Best so far is a 1.30.728 in the 4c i got down to a .791 with the moostang, gonna try a few other cars just for kicks

I'm also out, did the best I could and got some wins with the Cayman throughout the week.

My best time is 1.30.495, but the best optimal I had was 1.29.650. Shame I'm unable to get there. Oh well, there's always next week.
