The fact that this thread is the busiest on the forum, racking up three pages a day (and 40,000 posts in total, 10% down on the two-year older General Discussion thread), says otherwise.

Reminds me of when I posted to alt.barney.die.die.die "barney is yor lord and master". Now... what creature lives under bridges?

I thought I'd try the top guys ghost, you know, see if I can pick up some tips.
So I downloaded the lap in 10th. place, no point overreaching myself, i thought
It turns out there's nothing to be learnt from this. Mainly because the time difference between them and me is so great that after the first corner he was gone man, solid gone, you know, outta sight.:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

alot of people seems to use ghost to practice but personally the ghost is disturbing me more than its useful ? I like ghost to compere cars so its easy to see advantage or disadvantage among the other

But that's the key. Learn how to keep up with them through the first corner and you'll find out how to do the first corner. Then when they streak away through the second one, you'll need to learn that too. By the time you're done, you'll have learned all of them and improved your own lap by entire seconds.

I don't understand how this game can get multi-car type races in specific classes in all but Gr.X. Why does Gr.X have to be programmed to be not inclusive in these category races like that?

@Voodoovaj Good seeing you in the dailies again

Now i just need to find the instructions manual for the SF19.... i have no idea how to drive it...

All i get is under steer.

Great racing with you!

I can't drive the SF cars either. I mean, I CAN, but I can't drive them fast. I think I'm too old for the Formula cars.

As for race B, I am sitting on a 1:56.8 with the 4C, which I took because I did a 1:56.6 in testing last night. Last night's lap was effortless, so I quit and went to bed while I was on an even faster lap.

This morning, I thought I had found a bug because I could not get out of the mid 1:57's!! Well, it's not a bug. I just need to get better and find that lap again. I'll probably switch to the Huracan to better my Q time. I haven't set a time for Race A yet but It looks like fun!

1) Blue flag
When the leader/faster car catches up with me I (and everybody within "range") become a ghost. Is the guy behind me/front of me becomes a ghost to me?
Quitting
2) If I quit before the race start is there any penalties for it (DR, SR)?

1) The slower cars become a ghost. Both cars do not need to be a ghost. Also, if you are close to another back marker, they will be a ghost as well.

2) No, if you quit before the race starts, you should not be penalized.

Me: ok, let's load a ghost :) !

Penalties for going off track seem to be broken in time trials for C.
Like, straight up not working in some corners

No one cares about GT sport daily races.

Evidently you do care since you took time to post that. If you didn’t care for it or thinks no one cares, you would have ignored this and go about your day.

1) was changed, back markers didn't used to become ghosts to each other but now they can also drive through each other when getting lapped. The blue flag message is also wrong as what seems to be the consensus is for slower cars to stick to the racing line and let faster cars go around to avoid accidents, not get out of the way. Plus drafting still works when overlapped with another car, ghost drafting.

2) Unless changed you do lose 5 SR and DR to everyone in the room if you quit after entering the room (during warm up) The only time safe to quit is during loading / waiting for other players by either suspending/quitting gts or logging out of psn to disconnect before entering the room.

I think staying on line is ideal in multi-class racing where there is a big speed difference or ovals where anything goes but in races like Super Formula I would rather the back markers pull over and get out of the way, their cars ghost but the dirty air can cost the leaders loads of time if you catch them in the wrong place (it's not really an issue at Fuji but on twisty circuits like Suzuka or the last sector at Autopolis it does effect the race).

1) - Isn't that what I wrote? That's what I meant to write. Backmarkers are ghosts to the lead/faster car and each other. I haven't been lapped in a long time so I can't verify :D

2) - Ya, but..you know...5 :D

I drive in bumper cam. So for a long time when I first started Sport Mode, I didn't realise I 'ghosted' at all so spent an inordinate amount of time and energy staring at the 'rear view mirror' when the blue flag indicator popped up, trying to work out when and where I needed to get out of the way. I'm pretty sure it was more distracting for the lapper to come across me driving completely erratically, not really looking ahead and more often than not crashing off the track in such calamitous fashion that my perceived amateurness was completely befitting the fact I was being lapped in the first place.

So with all the love in the world, you can just drive through me. If I'm being lapped, then I'm more than likely struggling to keep it on the racing line in the first place, without giving me an 'enforced' detour to consider!

1:57,303 on Lagooooo!!!!
I found my race for this week. I start the next try (and fail) reaching DR A!

Edit 1: 1:57,245

Edit 2: Now having DR 28.300 and me inside rooms with DR A and S, me just a B. Looks funny, they are fast and I try to hold my position.

Good morning,

I made and shared my 4 lap time trial replay in game.
I used all line aids and brake indicator.
I showed just simple doing what the game wants you to do.
Abs default bb 0 tcs 2. For some reason the yellow line doesn’t show up on replay.
Nothing fancy just brake full at 2 cones straight turn in to apex floor it after apex letting tcs sort it out.
I ran three nice laps within tenths.
I hope it will help my friends who might be interested.
I think these represent the easiest way to run consistent mid 58.

Autopolis is pretty fun in the 86/BRZ. I haven't done the race. I've just been hot lapping to learn the track, because I haven't raced there very much, and I'm trying to get to where at least I don't have to look up at the map to see what turn is coming up next.
I watched the #1 guy's lap, because I'm about 3 seconds behind him, and wondered if I'm using the wrong gears. Nope. Identical shift points. He's just about 100 times better at corner entry. I need way more practice on that track to learn the best places for me to brake and turn in. Turn 1 is a bitch. It looks like it's negative camber.

Well, I stuck at it and downloaded a fresh (faster) Race A ghost.
First few laps took me from 2:18.7 (Yes, I know) to 2:17.6 and later to a series of laps of low to mid 16's with a best of 16.155 and an optimum of 2:15.8.

Whilst these are not earth-shattering times, I doubt I would have got there this quickly chasing my own shadow.
Plus I've learnt a lot about losing time and where it happens. So, onwards......

Having a hard time learning autopolis. It just seems like an endless series of meaningless turns. So far i have a best of 2.15.786 and i feel lost nearly the whole lap.....

Feels like?? It is a series of never ending meaningless turns. It's basically Fuji, not a ton of difference. Absolute GARBAGE race track.

Off-camber corners, blind apexes, and atypical lines don’t make a track meaningless. It’s a complex, difficult circuit; and an amazing one at that. It’s been my favorite addition, personally.
