Looking at the replay I brake one Dunlop billboard earlier (or roughly where you go under the gantry) at the chicane to stop the car quicker and use more curb on the inside (pretty much all 4 tyres off). This car understeers quite a lot anyway so I would've thought a + BB would help get the car rotated into the slow corners better. It looks like the car is on the rev limiter a few times too, there might be some laptime in shifting up earlier.

I believe you mean T8? After the gantry, will test to brake early on that one. But yes, lost time in that turn as well.
T6 is that tight left hander before.

Oh, and for the BB, I have noticed, that it affects like traction control now. -BB will let you go harder on throttle when coming out of the corner. Car wont spin tyres as easy, compared to +BB.
Have anyone else noticed this??

Did the R8 get changed this week? It feels weird, like trying to steer a cruiseship in Race B, compared to how amazing it was at Race C last week.

In Race C last week it had medium tyres while this week in Race B it has hard tyres, so it will handle differently.

Summary of my last "C" race:

>Start on pole
>Have a good start
>IMMEDIATELY get punted off back to P5 in Turn 1 by an idiot
>Then get both punted off by 4th place the next lap THEN get spun out exiting the last corner

I absolutely hate this game sometimes

This times 100000000000000.

Practicing netted me a Top 10 time although i still hate the rotation on my G29. But that top 10 time has ruined the race for me now. I cannot survive T1 at the front.

Stay wide - taken out
Stay inside - taken out
Let 2nd and 3rd past - taken out

My SR has gone to out the window and i cant do this race anymore in fear of being reset. I'm not going to try this unless i get back to 99.

What's worse is people's mentality in the SF. It's as if everyone thinks they are alone on the track.
"oh i just ran wide... let me cut across back to the next apex....."
or
"i have the inside! you must yield as i cut back all the way to the other side and run you off the road"
or
"hmmm there's a group in front... let me late brake as much as i can and ignore that they might brake a early to give each other room" then use one of the above sentences next.

Autopolis. Is. Amazing.

But then I had a bit of a love affair there with the FFs and the Gr.4s in general a couple of months back so my opinion is very clouded to say the least.

I do remember echoing all these thoughts when it first arrived. I didn't get it at all - and I can imagine it feels very very long in anything slower than a Gr.4...

I won't be going there. I'm not even sure if I fancy Maggiore this week after all. I had a quick go around on Sunday evening as a practice and couldn't get under 2.01.xxx. And the SFs are really not my kinda ride. I might try a QTT for a laugh mind!

Livery Editor week.
I'm 2:00.3xx right now. I'm sure I could cut that .3 but too much place for errors. I think it's worth a try :), I didn't check where I would be with this time in DR D rooms.

I watched some of the Daily B top 10 laps with the GR Supra. Why is everybody shortshifting?

Same with the Genesis :( .

last week daily C at Sardegna was on hard tires

Oh yeah, you're right. My memory is terrible.

Sardegna must be better to suited to the R8 than Maggiorre, I guess.

I don't know if you saw this that someone posted a link to not so long ago:
https://f1metrics.wordpress.com/2014/08/28/the-rules-of-racing/

In 7, "The guiding principle is that the driver on the outside should be at least level (front axle in line with front axle) with the driver on the inside to have a claim to the racing line on corner exit."

Does that explain why some of those people on the inside regarded themselves as entitled to run you off on the outside?

Currently at 1.518 secs from top time for Race C, will try the race itself this afternnon. Any strat came up? Starting softs, then meds and fuel managing?
The open wheelers is something I'm really no used to, and turn 2, that fast left kink its kinda hard to nail perfectly every time.

At race B I'm currently sitting in the top 100, at exactly 100th, with a 1.468 gap. I'm pretty happy that my skills improved this far since coming from GT6. The NSX is fantastic here, and sits .300 behind my Supra time. I might try the GT as sugested by @Mr P

It probably does. GT Sport doesn't specify these kind of rules but when you see things like the below as being within the rules you have to expect (and accept) that people will race like this in the game.

The soft tyres hold up really well. Optimal strategy seems to be start on softs, pit at the end of lap 7 taking on new softs and fuel. Some element of fuel saving is needed though as going flat out in FM1 won't last 7 laps.

There actually seems little point to having the hard tyres available at all. No way could you no stop this race with any kind of meaningful race time.

Pause the game just before T1 and you’ll ghost out and the bombers will go right thru you. I’ve never tried it but I may work. :)

After getting to within 1.5 seconds or so of the top time in one of the last daily races at Sardegna, I'm not really enjoying any of these so far! I don't mind Autopolis as a track, but not really enjoying it in the BRZ/GT86. Race B is probably my favourite, but think I struggle most with the first sector, and just how much (or how little) to cut the kerbs generally. Still got a second or two to find there. As for race C, I like the Super Formula cars but really don't like the track! The second half in particular I struggle to find any rhythm and get a little lost. Frustrating, as normally I like to get to within 2/3 seconds of the top times, but am a little way off with all of these at the moment!

Think I might focus on race B as I prefer the Gr.3/4 cars. I've had a go with the Supra based on the top times, but find I'm quickest in the Huracan. Not sure how it would measure up in the race though, as the Supra definitely has some punch down the straights...

I'm a sucker for Super Formula. I did two races yesterday evening, picked up a win and a podium, the former thanks to the leader almost running out of fuel by the end of L13.

Also, T1 is a cheater's dream. Besides L1 incidents, I can't remember anyone picking up a penalty for punting someone off.

Race C? Fuji? Awesome. My strongest track. Getting close to 5000 laps there, in various cars.

Sadly, none of those are in the SF. Guess I'm practicing tonight. Target for tonight, under 1:22.500.

I have done countless laps of Fuji in numerous cars, but still have no idea where to brake on the last corner. The rest of the lap is quite nailed on.

Mostly will be doing race B this week. Low 1:58's at the moment, but I know that there is easily half a second to come. For Group 3, I usually go for the AMG Mercedes or Mustang, but I am not feeling the love for them round here. The Lexus feels good though - although my home made livery is awful (what was I thinking???), so I will have to spend a few minutes tidying it up.

Braking for the final turn is always tricky. Especially in a race scenario. It really depends on whether you want to take a tight, or wide line to the apex.

Tried a couple of C races this week and it seems that if you don't start on the front row you are basically in for a rough time. Both times I have started in 5th, and by the end of the 1st lap I have been in 12th and 15th. The cars are simply too fast for most drivers to control (probably me included by I am always really careful at the start).

I've managed to get back up to 5th both times with a combination of fuel saving and fast laps in free air, but I've been a long way away from the guys at the front even though my race pace is ok. Grid starts might seem like a good idea with these cars, but I think I would prefer to survive the 1st couple of corners from a rolling start tbh.

The Fuji Speedway is my all time favourite track. I never ran a decent lap around the track and probably I'll never will, but to me the feeling and the scenery is just... beautiful. I love Japan and to me Mount Fuji is one of the most beautiful thing in the world . I made countless photos in GT5 and GTS with the mountain in the background.

(Gran Turismo 5)

Set 58.2 at Race B, still driving the Vette. Made 2 races, finished 5th after being punted away in the first lap (dropped to P7) and finished 2nd latter chasing a Supra after starting on 4th and capitalizing front runners mistakes.

Gonna be a week with not many time available for me but Race B looks like a nice combo. I´ll prefer it to be 6 laps, feeling it a little short

Need more laps. Jumped in to race too early. I have to stop choosing races based on what livery I'm in the mood for.

If I was you, I'd be looking out for King Kong in your rear view..... that thing looks like a giant banana!

Got my time down to a mid 2.14... gonna try some races this morning to see if that helps me find more speed on this track. It is certainly growning on me, but i still find one or two sections of the track could be removed to make it more enjoyable (for me)

Starting further back is not really a problem for me, the big issue is starting on the left. If you're still there when you get to T1 you've had it and will be hit. On the right you can park it on the apex and be fairly safe.

I had a go on Race C, since the SF cars (along with Jr RB) are my favourite open wheelers and had a mostly clean race at Fuji, got a couple of penalties but on long wide turns it is easy for people to hit you, go off, and recover easily. By the end I couldn't believe my SR had fallen from 91 to 54!

I'm going back to crawl round to see if I can get most of it back for a clean race. Edit: I did that, and SR now at 71 for being a saint.

Man, Maggiorrie group 3 has been butchered by the new grip model. Just understeer, understeer and more understeer, it's excruciating. Sucked all the fun out of it, really need to be on mediums with this grip model, hards are just joyless.

That's my mantra for surviving turn 1 for pretty much every race. Getting your car to the inside is top priority, even if it sacrifices a position or two. It's much safer there!
