What's the consensus on brake balance for the Alpine?

With the final race on Bathurst I finally made it back to SR 99. That took a while, all from one race where 2 cars decided to brake in front of me and another car to serve a penalty. No braking in front of cars!

Bathurst was great in general, few issues except still some people trying to push you out in T2 Senna style. I met some interesting players, one E/S in a room from A/A to D/S and one A/A leaving as A/E. That must have hurt.

Tomorrow:
A Alsace A110 3 laps
B Brand's hatch GR.3 5 laps
C Kyoto Yamagiwa GR.4 10 laps

That should be easy on SR.

I started my day yesterday as B/S and by the last race I was B/D made several mistakes and get pushed against the wall by people that still don't understand that a 2 meters wide car ain't gonna fit in a 5 centimeters space between my car and the wall. Anyway I still got 2 wins and a couple of podiums.

At least I climbed to SR B this morning in brands hatch.
 
Anyway I just completed all offline challenges last night including Formula session in GT League that I complained about the AI in Brands Hatch one day before, so I used automatic to beat it. Here if you don't mind....
 
Wow B/B is the worst rank I’ve ever been in, slammed left right and centre. There’s got to be a way to remove persistent offenders. They all get reported anyway but I’d love to know who’s job it is to swing the ban hammer. Do they watch replays or is it just down to volume of reports

I ran a -2 for BB at Suzuka yesterday - initially started on a -1 but preferred the -2. Had to have TCS at 1 too (unlike me)

I settled on -2 as well eventually (but TCS off ;)) it was a bit of an animal though! I don't know if it is just either perception, luck on hotlapping or coincidence though :lol:

I'm the guy who had the run in with you L1 Kyoto (P1 and P2).

Was horrified mate, as I mentioned (and been posting about here) - my goal was to pick a 'safe' race and just farm SR points.

Did you actually get any penalties from that? I finished with clean race bonus and 30 SR points. No time penalties during race.

I got about 12 seconds on lap 1, took about 30 seconds to scrub it, slammed into a wall on T1 of lap 2, absolute carnage.

I seem to have the biggest case of “spoke too soon”, just had a fantastic race it was so clean, a small dispute on the post race chat between two other drivers though mostly clean from what I saw

there probably isnt one but i set a 2:17.7 on my 2nd lap with it set to -3. i also put tcs on 1 when normally i wouldnt have it on for a road car

how can you be A/E without a downgrade of DR , i thought you couldnt be DR A unless u were at least SR B

You can't, A/E showed in the result screen. I checked his stats on Kudos and he dropped from 40K to 7K, reset to DR.D

Got 7 wins yesterday. 40 Wins now in 486 races.

Got a great quali time and started top 3 most of the times.

Just 10 more for half century.yay.

40 in 486 is a good total as well! I am 25 in 471.

That's why I hug the inside rather than going fast and wide.

Set a 1:40.591 quali at Race C today. I really don't feel confident with that time...
 
Had my best day of racing so far on race C.
Set a 1.40.556 and it has landed me I think it was 6 pole positions back to back and managed the convert 4 of then into wins and then I've won twice I think it was from starting 2nd.
It's been some great super clean racing I've struggled to keep count in over 100 days I've never had a day like this.
My DR has gone from bottom of B to nearly at A. With SR 99 the whole time.
It can only go down hill from this point as I have made to A before and got my ass handed to me on a plate several times.

Is it just me or is yamagawa the cleanest racing in sport mode? I cant think of another track that I get clean races in so consistently

It has too many sectors where it's two tracks stitched together...hence the huge SR increases. I went from 63 to 99 in a 10 lapper on it a couple of weeks back :lol:

Would love to know how to lose a whole second and a half, feel like I’m absolutely punishing the car coming out of turns, every once in a while I get a glimpse of my ghost in the rear view where I’ve cornered better but he always gets me in the end, pesky bastard

Besides the first hairpin at the intersection with Myabi, most of the course is pretty safe. I think its due to the width of the track and the lack of speed built up before the the hairpins allowing more control in late braking. The rest of the course is wide and fast. I think its these features that allow really close battles without too much fear of contact. This layout was the first layout i ran an marathon of races on the day it was released and was the reason i originally moved from DR D to DR B and SR B to SR S.
