Managed to get together a 1:40.333 (opt 1:39.929) in the M4, let‘s see where this gets me as the first race without setting a lap was quite bad for my rank![]()
Figured I'd try a race at Brands Hatch and immediately got disconnected at the start of the race for the first time ever and lost 2000 DR points. Great idea from PD to make server issues cost people points 👍
Edit: LOL and I lost 5 SR points. Yeah, cause that makes total sense. Great work.
I got the "disconnected from network" pop up so I don't see what would be so hard about making the point system differentiate between that and just exiting the race, because the game obviously recognizes the connectivity issues.Yeah it's definently a problem. But how do you distinguish between accidental disconnection and purposeful hard shutdowns?

As for hard shutdowns, if people want to go to those lengths every time they have a bad race then so be it I suppose. I'm not really concerned about those people, right now I'm just PO'd at losing 2000 DR and 5 SR for something that was completely out of my hands. I had not even gained control of my car yet.
Stuff like this makes the DR and SR systems lose credibility IMO, and really deters me away from Sport mode. It just seems to be more trouble then it's worth right now, especially with the minuscule payouts.
I will give it a try shortly, tried the corvette and Veyron for a change but the best I could get was 1:42.9 so back to the M4, don’t really like the FF Gr4sYou using the M4? Try the TT. I cannot for the life of me get a decent lap with the M4 (OK for race but not hotlap) but as soon as I use the TT - new fastest.
Having said that, driving the TT feels like a visit to an accountant in a 1970s era, brutalist architecture office building.
Why should internet connections play any role in a DR system that is supposed to reflect a drivers skill level and how they race on the track against other people? If you get a power outage should you not get penalized? Or if your internet disconnects?
At the end of the day it's a rating system that you will more than likely regain anyways. The DR/SR systems aren't prizes to be attained - they're meant to be a reflection of you - so if you lose 2000 points unfairly, you should be able to regain them relatively easily.
No I would still care, because I find it annoying anytime I get ready to race and I get disconnected. The fact that I lose DR and SR as a result just makes it more annoying. Luckily this is the first time I've ever had it happen in Sport mode. And I also think it's silly that the game tracks DR as well as many other statistics in Sport mode but doesn't offer any sort of leaderboard, on top of not being able to see the top 10 daily leaderboards in the other regions.Infact, if the DR/SR numbers were hidden - you wouldn't care at all, it's only because they are visible that you care.

How easy or not is to re obtain is irrelevant. What if it happens more than once? What if it happens 2 or 3 times in a single day? Then you're talking 3000-6000 DR points. And FWIW, with as poor as the matchmaking is in the America region it does take S class drivers above the ~60,000 threshold awhile to gain that back because you're rarely matched with more than 2-3 other S class drivers so there is not many points to be gained.

Shoot I wish I could do it that quick. I just had a perfect race (set pole, fastest lap, and won the race with a clean race bonus) and got less than 200 DR back. So it's looking like it'll take me a few days to get back what I lost from that 1 disconnection.have to spend the next 2-4 races making up for lost DR.
Anyone else getting a notification for maintenance due tomorrow?
Yep they've moved it back a lot - 3rd place start is bad too! You need to be prepared to gun it while turning, judging the required lock adequately or you will eat grass. Take it easy instead and you have the field up your chuffBrands Hatch race had a strange starting point. Pole sitter starts on the last corner and gets a nice big gap to 2nd.
I thought it felt a bit slippery, but I figured it was because I was driving the Mazda LM55 at Interlagos before that. Although, times from qualifying to race were pretty consistent.Yep they've moved it back a lot - 3rd place start is bad too! yeah
What do you mean exactly?@Nuschel01 you don't hang around
Wow that must be some bad driving! How did you get to negative 1,169 SR points?1249Pts. until SR:S![]()

I mean you are a lot quicker then me
Today I was just lucky with figuring out how to approach the trackI mean you are a lot quicker then me 👍

Did 3 races after setting a Q time. 1st with the M4, saw @bmxmitch but never actually raced him as he was a bit behind me and came 5th iirc. Then tried out the Genesis which doesn‘t stand a chance against the TTs and M4s as I realized in the first lap and as I additionally binned the car in L2 I ended up being 10th and fought my way back to 6th or 7th. 3rd race was with the Viper, ended up at P3 but as P2 had a penalty the final result saw me in P2 👍

How do you guys see the actual points on the DR and SR?

Yes, I usually pit mid race. In the race with the Genesis I pitted in Lap 4 to make an undercut which worked out pretty good as I was able to manage my tires for the last 6 laps of the race quite goodAre you doing a 1 stop for race c? I'm just about to start mine in my trusty 458![]()
Like I said if someone wants to go as far as to unplug their internet every time they have a bad race then so be it. The people trying to play the game fairly shouldn't be penalized because of a few bad apples.Because if you are having a bad race but don't want to lose DR you could just unplug your internet - game can't distinguish between accidents and intentional. Every other competitive online game is just like this, why should GT:Sport be any different?
At my current rating it literally takes me 8-12 perfect races to gain 2000 DR depending on who I get matched up with. And that's if I don't run into any wrecking balls along the way. I can't believe you or anyone else doesn't see a problem with 1 disconnect potentially wiping away multiple days worth of work (which is what it did to me). If I lost 200 DR then it wouldn't even be a big deal, but 2000 DR is absolutely ridiculous. Ask any other person in the America region above 60,000 DR about trying to gain DR right now and how frustrating it is that 1 punt into a corner from behind or 1 disconnect can take away up to 10x the DR points you gain from winning a single race. It's not "the nature of the beast" it's an incredibly unbalanced system that is currently penalizing S class drivers more than any other class.I have zero sympathy here, people at the top end of any ELO or other forms of rating scale always have a hard time gaining rating, it's simply the nature of the beast.
Take the life lessons elsewhere. Just because you don't care doesn't mean everyone else shouldn't.Disconnects happen, it's online gaming, unfortunately the entire race isn't going to pause and wait for you to return, just suck it up and move on - the world isn't perfect.
A lot of time can be gained on the two wide left handers. Ideally on the first left hander you wanna half brake at the 50 marker and trail brake into the inside of the turn. I let go of the brakes at 150-155km/h. The hard part though is when to floor it. Honestly I don't have any markers at when I floor it, but I know I did it correctly when the car fans out wide to the outside curbs at ~180km/hWould love to know how to lose a whole second and a half, feel like I’m absolutely punishing the car coming out of turns, every once in a while I get a glimpse of my ghost in the rear view where I’ve cornered better but he always gets me in the end, pesky bastard
