I know, I know, I’m usually 15-20 rounds in by now but the urge just isn’t there this summer. I spent the last 6 years chasing scratch golf and in that time I’ve gone from shooting 110/120’s to high 70’s/low 80’s with a low score of 67. But the amount of time, effort and money it would take to progress any further just doesn’t seem like it would be worth it. I’d basically have to devout every free moment/dollar I have and even then it’s no guarantee, so I’ve decided at least for this summer to just play casually and spent most of my free time racing. :)

The difference between a 2 hdcp and scratch is greater than 25 hdcp and a 10. Amazing isn't it?

You got that right!! If I could only putt, I’d probably be scratch or close to it now. My putting is atrocious, and no amount of practice or putters seems to help it much. I still average 34.5 PPR with an average of 8-11 GIR, I waste way to many scoring chances, I once shot a 90 that included 45 putts and 12 Gir lol. When I play simulator golf I set gimmies on 10’ to make it more fun and because simulated putting sucks, I average mid to high 60’s there, it’s that bad.

Man, having some random disconnection issues right now. The last one was though: Race B, I was putting some pressure on the first guy, after a great start in fifth and I was pretty confident about my chances of taking him on breaking.

Then the game decides that this is way too much fun and I should be disconnected from the race immediately :banghead::banghead::banghead::mad::mad::mad:

I was 3rd and putting pressure on for 2nd when I got disconnected :-(

I am super close to being DR B for the first time since switching to my wheel i think. gotta get that. i might have touched it once before on my wheel but i intend to stay there this time.

I'm also getting the W-something network error trying to enter a race and the random disconnects persist.

Here's a rookie move: I made a Valvoline Edition paint job for my Mercedes to use at race B, before testing the car out. It turns out that the car hates going around corners, so I won't even be able to use it. :banghead: :dunce:

*If anyone else wants to use it, be my guest. It's in the activity feed for my RPMcmurphy01 account.
It's the best car for cornering and stability. At least on a controller, because the mid-engined cars have great turn in but horrible stability; which means that I'm constantly over-correcting. I don't have any such issues with the Mercedes.

Got wins in race A and B tonight, rest of the week I'll probably focus on building my SR back up so hopefully next week isn't so painful. Not even going to touch race C, I can barely keep the SF19 on the track by myself, let alone with 19 other hoodlums out there.

Just started GTS last sunday, also my first sim experience since Gran Turismo 1. Bought a playseat challenge and a G29 and absolutely love it!

Did also my first daily this week, mainly race A. Best time was 1.15.6xx, the races mainly ended up with me slammed out of turn 1....

Ugh...

I figured I'd do some dailies since I'm skipping the next round of FIA. I set a Q time of 1:55.332 for daily B in the Supra. First race, came 2nd, lost 8 DR. Second race, my main rival binned it at T5 and I was left to run away with the lead...

Until halfway through the last lap, when my internet decided to wet the bed and I got disconnected. I was trying to hit 60000 DR, starting at 59533, and now that single disconnection knocked me all the way down to 57496. So pissed.

Edit: Apologies for the negativity, was just really frustrated at the moment. Daily races are normally very enjoyable, but all it takes is one disconnection to completely ruin the fun :indiff:

Totally understandable . It seems yesterday the GTS was the Real Disconnect Simulator.

Yesterday I run a test lap with the 650s in Maggiore. It was a 2+ seconds slower lap than my best but it looks like (checking GT webpage) somehow overwrote my best (better) lap . [/flood]

Well that's... Not supposed to happen :S

I asked my girlfriend to check the lap times in the game. She said the lap time is 2:00.3xx with the Genesis GR.3 :boggled:. So the problem is with the gt sport website. Besides... I was always curious why I have lap times on tracks which I did't run qualifier laps? There are lap times from when I didn't have PS+ subscibe.

Weird. Couldn't tell you what's happening as I don't use the site + haven't done any race B quali

Sounds like just a quirk of the website, though, id tend to trust the lap time i see in game.

I don't think GTS was at fault here :odd: Every device in the house lost connection at that moment. The router was looking fine and the internet indicator was flashing green, but I couldn't reconnect. It was probably an issue on the ISP's end.

Anyway, that disconnection left a bitter taste in my mouth and I had to do something about it, so I started another race. The Frenchman who started P2 behind me put up a good fight, it took me half the race to escape the slipstream, but after that it was simply a matter of keeping it together. I went on to win by 1.4s. Not much in the way of repairing my rating, but I'll take a win :) I don't feel like risking any more though, the connection is still pretty shaky and I was sort of tempting fate by entering another race :scared:

Oh right, I forgot to mention that I beat my Supra time in the R8 yesterday, it’s so much easier to drive too. :)

That's the car I've been using for race B. Will go back to it at the weekend as I think I'm done with race A.

What's your R8 time? What BB are you using? I'm at -2.

Welcome, and congrats on picking up some gear! I did this time around as well. I too have been a fan since GT1, stopped playing around GT5, then picked GTS up a few months ago. Did my first daily a couple of weeks ago. My driver rating looks like a report card I'd be ashamed to show my mother, but i'm loving it!

I think I wound up with a 37.1/2 with BB at either -1 or -2. I’m gonna out some more time into it tonight.

There are 2 Mercedes models in the Gr.3 class. We may be talking about different ones.

The 16 AMG is way better than the older one.

I just do not have the speed i feel i should based on my friends times, I am usually top 5 of my 12 regulars and i am sitting in P8 with a 1.58.4, feel i should be able to do a 1.57.7 but I just cannot find the time.

I lose 3/10s scrubbing speed through the left/right complex after the big downhill right hander towards the end of the lap. I lose out to everyone in every car, no idea why i am scrubbing so much time, even on full throttle, whilst others are not.

Even so, i still feel a bit slow, i really do hate RH's with the new grip model, the understeer chits me to tears.

Holy cow! I just saw @Sven Jurgens at race A. That's like seeing a solar eclipse.

Haha, yep that was my one race yesterday. Autopolis beats Magiorre pinball! Fuji can suck it. Nice win there mr. incognito.
I'll do another one tonight, probably at 8 or just after again, maybe even 2. Those cars are actually enjoyable on Autopolis.

Hottest day of the year so far, it's going up to 44c/111F with the humidex, my pool was up to 29c/84F yesterday already. And I still have family that thinks it's always cold in Canada
