I am really strugglin with the 86 at autopolis. Keep forcing myself to do it, cuse thats how you get better right? But man..... it hurts to be having this much of a hard time. I feel like I'm new at the game or something. I still feel like there is one or two turns to many but have come to really like the track, but as soon as i try to push it the car turns itself into a drift maching, i even am having it come around on me at the bottom of 3rd gear sometimes. Like how was the camaro easier to drive than this thing???

4 races already this morning and although my dr is in free fall cuse of how bad i suck at this race, the racing has been good, waaaaayyyyy better than yesterday morning lol

@Sven Jurgens take care in this heat man. Not as bad here in Ottawa but still way to hot, i feel like my brain is melting when it's hot and humid like this. Even basic math becoms difficult lol
 
Another second shaved - 1.23.204 at Fuji

BB 2 to the rear certainly helped, thanks @GOTMAXPOWER. I loaded up an alien lap and can actually keep him in sight the whole way round.

Great combo, tempted to try for a 22, might even race later. :) more rear bias maybe?

I asked my girlfriend to check the lap times in the game. She said the lap time is 2:00.3xx with the Genesis GR.3 :boggled:. So the problem is with the gt sport website.

If you mean the Course Records section in Sporting History, it has never worked in the time I've been playing the game, there have always been some cases for me where it has recorded my best performance as one of my slower performances, even when it happened after a faster performance.

What BB are you using in the 86? I was using -2/-1 and it seems to help with the wheel spin on exits. That, and brake early, throttle early :)

Trough the week i have tried the bb at +2 to -2 and everything in between. I can feel a bit of a difference in the car but it doesn't seem to change my overall lap time/performance. This is just a hard combo for me i guess. Tbh i still d9nt feel like i have the "flow" of the track just right yet either.

That said... i just had two of my best races of the week running with a crowd of friends at the front we fought for positions and i managed to actually finish at or above my starting place. Saw @dlshearon in one of the races, nice to see you on the track man (oh there you are again)
 
This is a funny clip from a race I did, yesterday. It was my fourth attempt at Autopolis this week. In the first three, I got knocked into the sand at turn 1, every time. In race #4, I made it cleanly through turn 1, and was sticking fairly close to the fast guys, so I knew that I was finally having some good luck. 👍 ....Uh, nope. As I come around the corner, there is a cone right on my driving line, and I had nowhere to go. I was already turning right as much as I could, and going left would've been worse.

For some reason, the cone doesn't show up in the replay, which makes it look even funnier. :lol::lol::lol:



@BenRod this is what I was talking about in the post-race. :lol:

There has never been a stronger argument for turning cones off in the race :p
 
Had 30mins spare so had a quick go at QTT around Maggiore. Uptill now I'd only done a brief reconnoiter on Sunday eve and I'm not counting the 5 minutes I did around Fuji whilst remembering why I don't drive the SFs, so this was my first proper. look at this week's daily races.

I wanted sub 2mins, I managed a 59.2xx in the adVantage. Not enough time to actually do too much else this week. So that'll do.

Yep. I used to get screwed by those. Too bad I didn’t think to save the replay at that time lol

2 big problems with that. The first one, obviously I wouldn't remember where to brake, and the second problem with turning off the cones is I'd have no other way to catch some air on a track like this. 👍

My clip wasn't a complaint about cones, at all. I found the incident to be pretty amusing. I'm just having fun out there. :)

Too bad they don’t make the cones transparent so people won’t knock them around. I use the driving markers. It helps me a bit.
 
I did my daily exercise in qual on b trying some diff cars.
Z4, older beemer forget the model the one with nasty exh sound off throttle,
Newer merc gr3. And Supra last.
Need to try the adVanatge.
My Supra laps were riddled with errors, but the second one I eked out another tenth, way more there on a good pass.
I think the merc is better than the vette on this one.
The z4 is a nice smooth drive. The other Beemer is nice also and faster, but slower than the merc.
Good fun. The Supra is nasty!
I miss the sound of the vette though.
The merc was very solid very solid indeed.
 
Finally got a pole position (Race A) when the game/race didn't then crash before I could actually start on pole!
My love of Autopolis is paying off, I've got an unusually good quali time vs the fastest records (for me) and I have always maintained or improved my position every race, and almost all have been clean also, and my DR is rising nicely. Race A is my race this week, just a shame max SR gain is only 3.
Some success at last!

OBVIOUSLY I spoke too soon. The very next race, French guy in front kept brake checking and braking ridiculously early, in the middle of long flowing corners, etc. (at one point essentially parking on the apex of the first corner from already being well below the speed I would take the corner at, but angled so there was no hope I could get around the outside) with a different brake balance that somehow meant no matter how much I pre-empted it I still kept tapping him against my will, but also couldn't get past cos he was driving wide/haphazardly and generally being a pain. This meant the slower set of DR-D drivers who had fallen further back caught up at the hairpin before the downhill with the penalty zone on the final lap, who all sailed down the inside half on the grass and pushed me off as I was on the apex, one German directly into my side, causing me to lose 5 places. I, being faster than all of these who had just passed, caught up at the bottom of the hill somehow but one Italian who I had passed was adamant he was gonna push my rear left corner on every bend in the twisty section as the group of them forced me to overtake on the outside. I got SR downs for every hit of course despite being the only one of the set making any attempt to drive cleanly and doing literally anything I could to avoid contact, and in the end lost 6 SR and 400 DR. The French apex-parking brake checker gained SR overall as well and finished 4th (I ended 8th, rage), despite him getting a penalty amongst it. Farce of an SR system. Very disappointed in how profoundly unfair it is; does it expect people to park in the sand and let everyone behind pass?

Actually yes.. If I recall the VW Scirocco was a one make race last summer at Dragon Trails Gardens.
 
To think about it more, it may have been a mix up. Sardegna C makes more sense for the N100. Maybe someone mixed the classes up?

We've also had the Audi TT provided for Gr.4 It's cool but as there's only one livery that you HAVE to use it makes the replays look a bit silly.

Interesting choice of races for next week though!

Just Nordschleife, doesn't include GP layout so yeah should be.

Race B is usually around 8 minutes or just under so I think this is what it actually is.
