How it should be. A great clean race.

So I thought I’d just had the race of my life, I won the Gr1 at maggiore, started 2nd and the leader braked really early on T1 so got past him without slamming into the back of him.

I saw him a few laps later in my rear view mirror getting really big really fast as he attempted a dive bomb but failed, he did knock me off track but I assume the penalty was too great for him to continue so he rage quit I guess!

I found myself 11.5 seconds ahead of second at the end of lap 6 so I pulled into the pit and got some fresh tires and fuel, came out 1st still by 6 seconds. Finished the race ahead by 4 seconds and clean!

BUT they must have expected I’d win because I barely increased my DR :/

Great race! DR is a fickle you know what. I topped out at 47K 2 days ago and now it keeps expecting me to win all my races. I start 6th, finish 3rd behind a DR.S and DR.A driver yet my door number is 1 and I lose a bit of DR. It's hard to gain any at the higher end. I'm not sure why it was expecting me to finish ahead of the DR.S player though, one that's pretty much glued to the 75K barrier.

Yesterday's races

Autodromo Nazionale Monza GR4 Wed. 79,614 16 -99 -4.669 -371,710
Average 4.7 SR loss per player per race, net loss of 371K SR down the drain on Monza.

Blue Moon Bay Speedway - Infield A II GR3 Wed. 29,463 75 -132 10.332 304,42
Average 10.3 SR gain per player per race, net gain of 304K on Bluemoon.

I'm not sure which Tokyo variant was on yesterday, I never race the daily A. Tokyo East is always bad while central has positive average SR.

The first number is the total entries for the race, then max gain, max loss, avg SR, total SR.
Someone managed to gain 75 manner points in one C race, and someone else lost 132 SR points in one C race!

@Robben : Do you have to manually save your best qualifying laptime in order for everybody to be able to watch if it's a top10 laptime?
I know how to save replays after a race. I have around 78 replays saved and don't have any more free space left to save new replays.

Stupid penalty ruined my good race, but you are story for yourself, master!

That middle part is killing me, while you are enjoying it :)

Update 2:

Four races behind me and I managed to place to all four possible places, with win for the end - my first DR A win.

In second race I just missed braking point when new watchers overlay showed...

In third one, even fight with Giorgio, I'm honored bcs that happened!
Maybe I could even go in front, but I thought he is waiting for me.


Fourth where I won, was least interesting to me...
Great drivers like @iFuriousRacer are making me better!

That WRX is a lot to handle on Mount Panorame, skiddish fellow.

First race I made the mistake to enter without qualifying, since the psn update and daily car gift screwed up my timing. Which dropped me to SR.A in one race on Mount Panorama. I'm A/S, started behind D/S players that brake in the oddest places while I have another car behind me bumping into me... The wonders of matchmaking :)

So I set a lap time to start with the few DR.A or lonely DR.S players up front, much better. No chance for a win as the aliens are well distributed along SR values by now. Unfortunately I got disconnected twice and with not many points to gain from largely B to D rooms, almost 2K DR down so far. At least the races were fairly clean, rest were all blue for me with a couple clean race bonuses. Apart from the last one where the car behind me dive bombed me before the start line. He bounced and tried to go full throttle pushing me, spun out, dropped back, karma. Except I got to race with 2 sec penalty.

That last race also had this clown, S/S to D/E

It looks like he already used the reset glitch to get to DR.S, more karma. Of course there is no real punishment by resetting DR, except for the legit DR.D to DR.B drivers having to deal with a dirty DR.A driver in disguise to take the wins...
 
The penalty system does not work.

My second race with issues on Bathurst today, caused by the exact same player as the first time. Again he is send back to DR.A after giving me 5 sec of penalties, yet he will just be back again doing the same dive bombing and bump pushing in corners. I blocked him on psn, reported twice already in game, still get matched with him, PD sort it out.

It is interesting to see another point of view of the races in your video and to see what's happening behind me. :lol:

Hm ok that's very strange and confuses me even more. :odd:
I don't know if I did something 'wrong' but I didn't stop the upload of my best laptime intentionally. I thought that it might be possible that you can not watch your own laptime if you're in the top10 but you just confirmed the opposite.


My experience at Bathurst with the WRX was abolutely awesome. I managed to win more than 10 races :dopey:
The blow-off valve sound of the car is just so addictive *stututu* :D

Yeah they need to fix that silly outright bug, it makes no sense and can not be intended.

I've come across one driver that has had what looks like 50k reset (x4), and also the 70k reset (x4). Although I've never had any direct run-ins with this driver, I did wonder how they got to S/S.....

What other than kind, when quick and fair 👍

Interesting, in third race, Giorgio was actually "serving" his penalty when I catch him second time, and although place was tricky, I could pass...
But as I said, I thought he was waiting for me :lol:(my habits from old GRID days at first)
But I did some good pressure on him and I'm proud of it!


In second race, after my pity watching how many people is watching - in missed braking spot and finished in sand already in first lap.
But later I had great fight with UK guy, where waiting was crucial, same as good corner exit, that gave me pass opportunity!

I would write (even smiles choosing) much more, but it's just too hard to me doing it on smartphone, since I don't have any PC/laptop...
 
Had a very frustrating FIA race last night... did the Manufacturers but forgot I had picked BMW on Sunday. Really not a fan of the M6 (always use the Lexus nowadays :))... anyway, did some practice and got a 1.08.5 which I was content with (top 10 were 1.06.5ish). However, the track is really difficult to qualify on with 19 other cars! There is no space to get a clear run without encountering another driver who has stopped on track to create themselves a gap, or slow drivers or complete idiots (1. guy driving slowly with hazards on - ok great, you are making space for yourself that's fantastic and cheers for the hazards warning me what you are doing but WHY THE **** ARE YOU ON the racing line and not moving aside? 🤬. 2. guy blocking me and then bumping me as I pass! In QUALIFYING!). Ended up with a a **** 1.09.5ish and started 15th. 20 cars all starting on the oval, T1 and T2 are fine, T3 is ok, T4 is ok, T5 (hairpin under the bridge) is chaos. I give space to the cars in front, brake a little early to prevent an accident and then 3 guys behind me see this is a perfect overtaking opportunity. Seriously what is wrong with people not knowing that you can't do this? I am not braking because I'm slow, I'm braking because there are people in front of me and we are on lap 1 of a 20 lap race... Of course, there is a collision and I get 5 seconds penalty :). Anyway, finished about 14th in the end... very frustrating.

Edit: for some reason I really had a problem with Impreza drivers last night in qualifying and in the race. Also, a German guy summed up my thoughts by saying 'still so many idiots' in the post race chat.

In other news... matchmaking was a bit harsh... as a very low A, if I get matched with 80% B and 20% A, unless I win I am almost guaranteed to lose points. First race in the Alpine I was matched with mostly B and a few A, lost couple of hundred points for a 7th place finish. Second race in the Alpine I was matched with all A and gained 50ish points for finishing 7th. In fairness it was probably my fault for not doing more qualifying, but I had done 40 minutes and wanted to enter the 1940 race to make the 2010 Manufacturers race... optimal was 58.3 but I couldn't get a better qualifying time than 58.8.

Anyway, still A (just) and wobbling around between 31500 and 32500. Hope the racing gods are good over the weekend and I can get clear of the precipice!

There was number of doubtful penalties I got until now, but this is just too much.

Almost every my race is on my channel and there is nothing to hide, Fair Play first was always my moto, but I barely finished second race, bcs PAIN, pain in my heart - real pain and emotional one...
But I stayed Fair to last meter.

Lol thats a joke! This is what I mentioned yesterday about cutting corners at Maggiore but you touch a curb at Monza and you're penalised
 
I would love to see some daily races that feature the rally courses and cars. I can’t be the only one thinking this.

I get that ratings could be an issue. However, if you intend to ram someone on purpose what difference is tarmac or dirt?

I think it would be a nice variation.

Spent the remaining 5 laps reeling him in, bumper to bumper the last few corners and got the run into the straight, but not quite enough to pass! Best race ever lol

I agree, if you are an S SR driver it should not be difficult to stay out of trouble and have a clean rally race... It would actually be a lot of fun (assuming they fix the wall-bouncing to go faster, they need to fix the penalties)

BUT

Only if S SR was harder to obtain, and showed that you are a clean driver dedicated to sportsmanship. The fact that you can get an S SR in 3-4 races (that is how long it took me!) means that an S SR is MEANINGLESS and has no guarantee that an S SR driver will be clean.

Therefore, unless they make it harder to achieve an S SR, we cannot be confident and trustworthy of other drivers and it would probably be a mess... unfortunately.

Someone who has dedicated a month to clean racing should not be placed in the same lobby as ______ who has had 4 clean races.

Haha not quite touching paintwork! However I did have a race like that last night - it seems not everybody has figured out braking points in the group 1s, leading to taps everywhere. I'm pretty sure I accrued about 30 secs of penalties throughout the race!!!

Not even gonna try though, everyone around here knows how blisteringly fast he is! A Top 5 (even for just 15 minutes) would be my main goal here in the Europe region :)

Maybe Top 1 can show us the McLaren is a META contender :)

Hehe, that Avatar was made by a fellow Member @Raphaele , of course I have to still rock it! :gtpflag:

And yes, the Gr.4 McLaren is really a sadly slow car. But the Gr.3 version is pretty decent, even though I rarely use it.
But I'm curious if more people jump on the car now, because it made Pole on the leaderboards ;)
