PD really needs to reconsider who gets the SR Down in contact or always give both cars SR Down. It's a no contact sport according to the etiquette videos, so why allow contact... Bumping from behind or from the inside usually gets approved by the penalty system.

Whilst not exactly fair on the driver who's the victim, going back to "both drivers get penalised", as was the system when I first started sport mode would encourage cleaner racing. It kinda seems like PD has abandoned the idea of trying to fix the penalty system. It's been broken in this illogical reverse blame fashion for far too long for it to be likely that PD is actively paying attention to the issue.

Race C should be Gr.4 FF pit stop for tyres and Race B Gr.1 flat out. Race A should be 1 lap Nurb standing start.

I had a great week at Tokyo, tons of fun racing through traffic. These are the best results with fastest laps and a few clean race bonuses.

One of them (highlighted with door number 0) is from @Pigems lobby, fastest lap in the reverse grid start :)

My DR has more than doubled while maintaining SR.S throughout the week. Only once did I drop into the lower SR.S split for a race.

Friday was the cleanest, Saturday the best day for getting fastest laps and today was a mixed bag. Some really good races, but also a lot of split rooms, A/S and D/S with almost no B/S or C/S in between which meant getting faced with a huge gap to overcome between the backfield and the front. By the time I cleared the middle gap the race would be over. I could have won a lot more races than the one if there was one more lap, just had to be a bit faster. My best lap of the week was a 2:08.7 while doing mid 2:09's without drafting. Not fast enough to get near the aliens, but plenty fast for some good racing.

Here are the good, the bad and the ugly of some 20 odd races condensed to the length of one race.

Next time in the rain!

The fact that you think all B SR drivers are not actual good drivers strengthens the point of just how broken the penalty system is. There are good drivers out there that find themselves matched with less skilled drivers who like to "bump draft" (which lowers the front car's SR unfairly) or worse, they can't drive well & just push other driver's off. Believe me, I've seen almost everything PD has done wrong:

-- Following driver punts lead driver into a wall (2 sec. penalty)
-- Following car tries to pass & doesn't give room causing other car to go off track but quickly return to the track (5 sec. penalty) :irked:
-- Following car intentionally brakes late & slams another car off into the sand (no penalty)

I've seen all of these happen & can tell you, the penalties do not fit the crimes. You shouldn't judge people & their skill based upon your own metrics.
There are a lot of good drivers in almost all SR classes. But the dirty drivers are there for all of us. And yet we all can get to SR S with little trouble. If you stay DR B it's either because you want to or because you are overly aggressive.

Freak!!!! Yer a Freak I tell ya! A freak!!!

Nope, he's consistent. The best rounds I've had are when I haven't been super fast but just smooth and solidly consistent on hairy nasty tracks. There's a lot to be said for being able to keep the car on track or between the walls and avoiding the others. My best race all week for either B or C was on RBR when I went from 11th to 4th in a pretty heavy B/S, B/A field. Just had a couple of cars off at turn 1, passed a few penalties and for some reason people running major wide at the third turn that starts the infield section. Got almost 1000 DR in the one race, probably had the 10th fastest fast lap, if it was even that. I just was clean, stayed on track, touched no one and got not penalties of any kind.

Now how to stop my own stupid mistakes that keep me from doing that more often.

Having a right royal 🤬 up on RBR right now. Should have won the first but got punted from 1st to 6th on the last lap. Dive bomb central is here, BS penalties are aplenty (they really should check sector times before issuing track limits penalties). Had one where I was trying to avoid a guy having his own accident through the two left handers, ran slightly wide, lost loads of time, dirty tyres, PENALTY!! Turn in at T1 following other cars and the car goes straight on, lift, sort it out, lose a place - PENALTY!! Not understanding exactly what the boundary is for T1 because I've seen plenty go way off line and get nothing.

Oh well. All dropping my DR ready for an assault on Le Mans!

* 'Swedish' guy called Lazaruskie in this one...;)

That's me. Was an ok race, I ran off at T3 on last lap because we went two wide and I wanted to avoid bumps. Still kept the same place though.

Edit: it felt very slippery all the way. I ran a race before, good grip, ran Qt, good grip, then this race, slippery as if there was rain... Maybe dirty tires?

Thought it was, was why I mentioned it! Nice to be in the same race as someone off here though, hope the Europeans are generally being kind to you (very mixed lobbies in the morning over here though, usually A+ through to D is common)
Oh, I am Swedish (Danish by birth, Swedish by migration) and the morning races are often the cleanest ones as I see it.

Yeah, they did a Lancer on the Nurb at the start of the year. Not knowing both the track and the whole idea of the scoring system I did lots of No Qually races there and got my DR down to 1 for the first time. Silly me, thought moving up counted, didn't know I needed to run lots more practice and finish in top half. Had really good runs on Autopolis last time so anybody here in Asia, I might be seeing you there. Got the first of my only 2 earned wins on that race. Seems I'm one of the few non-japanese who like the feel of that track. And I know I'm a heretic but I get the rhythm there.

Although that might be broken up by me trying to fix unfinished business on that dang German track. Got to get at least some points from that thing to make up for last time.

Wait... All these 3 daily races have already been used before... I am sure they did a Nurb with the Lancer before
All three have been repeated before in 2019. Gives me another chance to improve these times vs. The times I got when they first came around. :D

Here is a fun one from the weekend. Kicks off with a T1 incident where someone seemingly doesn't brake at all punting the car in front of me. 100% my fault says the game.

Fast forward a lap and a Lambo starts lagging badly around T1, so much so that I turn in on the car inside me as I'm 100% watching the lagging car. Around T2 they stop dead. You know a lagging car that stops dead will reappear somewhere but you can never be sure where or when. Even though I was ready it still made me jump

For some unknown reason I thought they'd restrict Race C to just the Group C cars sort of like how they're restricting Race A to FF cars... Well, I've set myself up for disappointment really....
Full grid. Here we go!
EEkiptSU8AEs1ML

I've always avoided Gr.1 races, so I have almost no experience with Gr.1 cars...

Do you mind explaining me why you're running the Porsche?

I ran the Mazda LM55 VGT then the newer Toyota TS050 in a practice session and my overall race time in the Toyota was almost 8secs faster than the Mazda...
Mainly due to the fact that I had to short shift a lot with the Mazda to make it a no stop...
While with the Toyota I just ran flat out and it had just enough fuel to get to the finish line..

I'd really appreciate if you guys could explain how you're running the race (which cars are you picking and how are you driving them)

Thanks in advance...

That the lap you're YouTube-ing this week?! Along with the screenshot :D

Top job though, well done
Most likely, unless if I can somehow pull a 3:19 before I have to start editing. Last time this combo was live, I was at 3:22.2, and I felt like I was pushing it back then haha. Same goes for now.
... then again, I have to make the Nurburgring video as well. :ouch:

Thank you! :D

@GT5Power R4M is coming for my booty! :(

I'm using the TS050. It has good race pace, doesn't run out of hybrid boost and you can make it home on 0% fuel without going out of your way to save fuel.

My third race was less than smooth. I started P18 and had an accident trying to avoid a Frenchman who was spinning like a top (unghosted). Still made it up to P3, albeit with a 19 second gap to the winner. My alt's SR is up to 55 from 52 after these three races. Bump drafting seriously hurt it once again.

I'll probably jump on my main and do QTTs later today. Aiming for a 3:19 since last time I had a 3:20.5 with a high 3:19 optimal. :)

My choice of car is simple... Group C. A different one each day. I don't need to be a sheep using the META because it *is* the META. I drive whatever the **** I want. Tonight it will be the Jag, short shifting. Currently there is a Group C Porsche in the top 10 in Asia. I'll probably use that on the last day.
