Most likely, unless if I can somehow pull a 3:19 before I have to start editing. Last time this combo was live, I was at 3:22.2, and I felt like I was pushing it back then haha. Same goes for now.
... then again, I have to make the Nurburgring video as well. :ouch:

Thank you! :D

@GT5Power R4M is coming for my booty! :(
Well I'll let you know later if it's your supreme skill or a physics change that's brought about the improvement! I was 3:22.5 last time out in the Alpine but felt I could have gone quicker and focused on the Toyota once I started racing. I do tend to do well at La Sarthe.

Also like your videos a lot mate, very helpful. Up there with David Perel's lap guides 👍

For some unknown reason I thought they'd restrict Race C to just the Group C cars sort of like how they're restricting Race A to FF cars... Well, I've set myself up for disappointment really....

I've always avoided Gr.1 races, so I have almost no experience with Gr.1 cars...

Do you mind explaining me why you're running the Porsche?

I ran the Mazda LM55 VGT then the newer Toyota TS050 in a practice session and my overall race time in the Toyota was almost 8secs faster than the Mazda...
Mainly due to the fact that I had to short shift a lot with the Mazda to make it a no stop...
While with the Toyota I just ran flat out and it had just enough fuel to get to the finish line..

I'd really appreciate if you guys could explain how you're running the race (which cars are you picking and how are you driving them)

Thanks in advance...
I love sound and the "feel" of the Group C cars. I'm not in to current le mans prototypes. 787B is so addictive. I love "my" ;) era of prototypes(I had tamiya models of these when I was in my early 20s/. Love this stuff). Here are my results thus far. Some real turnips ruining my clean race. Bumping me as I pass and then they throw their car into the wall and it gets me 5 seconds. I was A/S/ Now, A/B.

This C9 has had the worde fuel economy. I've using Fuel 3 for all the races. Still blast past the newer cars like they're standing still. Plus, while they pit, I make up loads of time. MOst Group C cars in this race. They're catching on. :) Back up to A/A.

360 on the finish line or I will downvote the video.;)

Guys, its free DR week at race C again. :gtpflag:

I just wish the group C were more competitive
Say what?:sly: I've been no stopping all night. Starting at the back. Besides the gifted places from "the crazies", the only car that was a problem, was an Alpine VGT on fresh tyres. It pitted last lap and I caught up to it, but it had that new car acceleration as I was on old tyres. A 962C won from Pole. Plus, that first race I posted, the 962C finished 2nd. If I was in the Jag or 787B, I would have stayed with it. They're all good. However, i feel, those two are the best all round Group C. Oh and excellent fuel economy from the Nissan. Can go Fuel 1 with 1.5 laps to go if needed.

Wait... All these 3 daily races have already been used before... I am sure they did a Nurb with the Lancer before

Yep, It's the only N300 car I made a livery for and it's the one for race B :/

Jumping in!

Starting 5th without qualifying....

Got bumped off by a Brazilian to 8th, made it back to 5th with clean race bonus. There's not many places to make up when you start 5th... DR going down.

I had a great week at Tokyo, tons of fun racing through traffic. These are the best results with fastest laps and a few clean race bonuses.

One of them (highlighted with door number 0) is from @Pigems lobby, fastest lap in the reverse grid start :)

My DR has more than doubled while maintaining SR.S throughout the week. Only once did I drop into the lower SR.S split for a race.

Friday was the cleanest, Saturday the best day for getting fastest laps and today was a mixed bag. Some really good races, but also a lot of split rooms, A/S and D/S with almost no B/S or C/S in between which meant getting faced with a huge gap to overcome between the backfield and the front. By the time I cleared the middle gap the race would be over. I could have won a lot more races than the one if there was one more lap, just had to be a bit faster. My best lap of the week was a 2:08.7 while doing mid 2:09's without drafting. Not fast enough to get near the aliens, but plenty fast for some good racing.

Here are the good, the bad and the ugly of some 20 odd races condensed to the length of one race.

Next time in the rain!

Splendid job sir! I was in one of those races on Saturday and commented in chat to you pre-race... 'flash your lights when you want to come through'.... i think i got battered in the first lap and you went from last place to about 4th in 2 minutes flat! I think it was the race where you got that 2:08.7 FL.
Luckily that was the worst race out of the way for me and i went on a storming run for about 6 more races and gained about 8k DR on my US account just on Race C. SR took a bit of a beating, but i'll get that back soon enough.

Just ran my first race of the week on n00burgring.... at least half the field look like they've never done more than two laps on the track and/or haven't bothered to practice in the Lancer. Start P5, finish P5, plus 500 DR, down 8 SR :(
With Q times in the 8 minutes plus range, it looks like about a third of drivers aren't even going to bother qualifying.
I may have to overcome my dislike of FF cars and race Autopolis this week. With slow reaction times brought on by my advanced years (they were never that quick to begin with) and lack of a wheel/pedal set, the Gr.1 cars aren't really a practical option.
On the plus side, I seem to be one of the few that actually like Autopolis.

I like Autopolis too. And has advanced age.

Am I reading that right? It's gr.1 for Sarthe, not Autopolis, Autopolis is Gr.4

Now I remember why I always end up qualifying for the Nord. Last race I started behind a driver that was so slow I kept getting rammed by the non qualifiers behind me until I could finally squeeze past in the esses before Flugplatz. Bam bam bam, I think he got run off later. I was almost 4 sec behind to the next car after I got free. I caught up, passed one, then on to the rest who had penalties. However they went 2 wide at the penalty zone, moved over to block at the last second closing the gap and lost all my momentum. Move over when you have a penalty, PD should use auto drive in the penalty zone. I draft passed him anyway, so one of the blockers crashed me
Qg3DVk5.gif

He ended up with 10 sec penalties, 5 for pushing me off and another 5 for the wall hit.

Next race he's blocking and bumping me again, ends up with a penalty again and does a brake check on the middle straight. He left right away with a red A. Unfortunately someone messing up crashed me out before the straight so couldn't catch up. That one also rammed me on the straight as I came past then quit. Another red A. Yep it's lovely out there!

Watch out for that one, 3rd race he crashed me again. Punted me into the sand before the straight, didn't get a penalty. Reported reported and reported to no avail.

A 4th time, he messes up, re-enters the track and moves over to block me. It's too easy to be dirty and stay ahead with the current penalty system.

Starting 4th next, only 3 qualified

The one from above redeemed himself, didn't stop me from passing on the straight and didn't crash me after. Clean is more satisfying after all.

Yes, you're reading that right and you're right. I wont do Sarthe with Gr.1 cars, so I'm opting for FF Gr.4 cars at autopolis (and maybe later in the week when the n00bs have either given up on or learnt the circuit at Nurburgring, I'll try race B again).

However T1 at Autopolis is a nightmare with a grid start... SR is down to A for the first time in a while. Still gaining DR though...in fact I've hit my DR PB, cracked 13K :)

That's interesting, because Autopolis is my ultimate bogey track, no matter what I do I'm always terrible at it, because it just doesn't feel like it flows for me.

Gr.1 at Sarthe however? amazing combo imo... Sarthe is a track I enjoy anyway, and obviously you need a faster group for it to really feel exciting, gr.4 or gr.3 at Sarthe would be terrible.

Gr2. might be ok but theres not enough variety, so what's left? Gr.1 or Gr.X and Gr.X just has way too many ridiculous options, like isnt the tomahawk and Red bull car Gr.X?

Mazda 787B, Toyota TS050, Merc C9, Audi R11 at Sarthe? sign me up.

Yep. And I just got (another) one as a daily reward yesterday - I'll never drive the thing and I can't sell it, what use is it? :indiff:

Edit: Don't get me wrong, I like driving the Gr.1 cars. I just suck at it 'coz my reactions are too slow and a DS4 is not suited to those speeds.

I was like that at Brazil with the FIA series race round, it was like trying to control a rocket ship.
