Enter race C, drive one lap, park in pit, watch tv, repeat.

Nice.
Ok, I am 99 will do a Dr dump, then should be at c s.
It’s incredible the difference in game tonight. Now c is an absolute mess, and the b race has been all North America and pretty decent. Didn’t see too much nonsense.
It’s just interesting to me seeing a lot of green flags in c race after the proceedings last night...
Man, you get down in the alleyways and shadows, and it’s absolutely bonkers! The c s b s on b race is all have a good race good to see you again etc and in the shadows it’s pretty vicious. No one commenting, or post race barbs and red dots everywhere.
I’ve never done a reset before, there’s plenty of dirt out there if a person wants to find it...
What a crazy difference, I’ve never been in the shadows before...
It’s dark in there! :)

Race A is probably one of the hardest combos I've ever encountered in this game. Even among the aliens the gap at the top of the leaderboard is several seconds instead of the usual millisecond. I'm all for weird combos but this one isn't challenging, is just plain frustrating and un-enjoyable to drive. The Beat is famous for its twitchiness in real life but IMO it's too exaggerated in game. Every Beat buyer would be wrapped around a tree if the real car handles like this  It would've been better if its stock power/weight or we can stagger tyres, but the stock suspension just isn't coping with the current specs. Plus Yamagiwa needs a lot of kerb use which this car doesn't like. It's like the Greatest Hits of everything that's wrong with GTS' physics engine  To anyone who can get below 2:10, I doff my cap off to you

Just to keep Sport Mode fun, I'm doing what the young people do today: Starting from pit lane Challenge.👍

Did two races by driving into pit lane after Auto-Drive releases the field. I set fuel to 6 and watch the numbers go up 33-34. At T1, set fuel to 2 for the first 2 laps. So far, it's left me with 25 laps of fuel remaining. Crossing the start finish line to begin lap 9, I nail the throttle to the end. I've finished with 0.0 laps of fuel right at the flag.

I didn't think it would work again. Did it the first race, to stay away from any divebombers. Started 9th in that one and finished 10th. An AMG GT3 on fresher tyres, was able to grab my spot at the back straight hairpin, before the PZ. Fun stuff.

Another way to dump DR faster while still racing and maintaining SR, enter race 1 on the hour, drive clean and have fun, quit at 9 minutes past, enter race 2, do the same, quit at 19 minutes past, etc. Driving clean laps should earn enough SR to compensate for the 5 SR loss for quitting, while quitting ensures maximum DR loss.

Of course a reset to SR.E, then one clean C race will already land your SR back in SR.B  It's really hard to stay in SR.E.

The couple races I did early evening on Bathurst weren't clean at all. BS penalties landed me back at 72 SR already. I'm starting at SR.A tomorrow, enough racing today. And yup, the shadow rooms are always nice and quiet lol. In SR.S when you call someone dirty you get a load of excuses or cursing. In the lower ranks nobody cares. I did find one Megane free room in SR.B  2 RCZs finished first and second :banghead:

I ended my hiatus from gt sport tonight. I love race C this week so thought I'd give it a shot. Extremely rusty but starting at the back gave me the feeling I should be okay. Settled into a groove around lap 4 but then was torpedoed by a user with the name of LesPaul. Dropped a bunch of spots, caught back up and was forced off the road again by this guy. After he served his penalty I was back in front of him but he was clearly faster. Instead of passing me cleanly he takes me out again. Seriously? This was an SR A lobby. Wow.

Finished 12th in the AMG gaining 6 spots. LesPaul finished 10th.

On Friday nights, you're welcome to join Pigem's lobby races. 👍

This looks like another lag cheat or just very fortunate to drop connection in corners... It was an Argentinian switching between 3 bars and 2 bars during the race. He did end up with a 3 second penalty for that 'move', I gained 1 SR in that race, woot.

I've seen that sort of thing in lots of different games when the player is on a marginal connection. Everything runs smoothly until the data transfer requirements ramp up .... lots of user inputs (corners), lots of other players nearby (bunched up packs), etc. Could be that or could be lag cheat.
Same thing happens in shooters when the firefight starts (lots of bullets to track) or combat flight sims when your section dives into a large bomber formation (lots of objects to track).

Looking at the leaderboards for Race A, and it's a shame that there's a lot of chicane cutting going on with people exploiting the penalty zones. I think this is a pretty fun, but way more difficult than I thought it would be combo. Though I'll admit that I only spent like 20 minutes trying to get a lap in so if I decide to spend more time pushing towards a 2:05, I would get more used to how the car behaves.

Man, been feeling that issue. Did 2 races. The back half of the field is just psycho mad max style battles. First race i got stuck in it, thought I was away getting up to 6th, got punted back into the back and blasted back into 14th. Started 18th so still moved forward. Next race I cleared it on lap 4 and was free and clear. Half a lap after I got to 11th the pack behind me wiped out at turn 1, managed to bring it home 8th pretty clean. I keep racing people you race @05XR8 but never match with you. Oh well.

Edit: I can tell you one sure way to royally piss people off is to pass them around the outside at turn 1 at sardegna. I think there has been an attempted punt after every time I pulled it off

I'm mostly a Race B driver but like to do all three at least once if I can. Today did A & C.

Haven't raced this version of Sardegna much so on the C race (start 17 of 19) I pulled the Porsche RSR aside and let the back markers go. Uneventful except for all the wrecks I kept passing. Pitted lap 11, came out last place and 17 seconds off the car in front. Finished 6 seconds behind 11th in last place courtesy of 7 disconnects / quits, gained 5 places :D

Race A is weird. You have to go slow to go fast, attempting to go fast is a quick way to find a wall. I know it's a principal of racing in general and @250Cal has been expounding on it in relation to Race A all week, but it is so extreme in this combo.
Started P6 of 12, overdrove the entry to the chicane at the bottom of the hill and the high speed curvers before the last corner and picked up two places as a result without gaining any time but the other two cars did worse than me. Served the penalty without losing a place.
Last lap again got a couple of track limit penalties as a crashed faster driver began to gain on me, he overdrove his car in the high speed curves when he was only 0.5 behind and gaining fast. I finished P4 with more than 10 seconds to the car behind. Can't give the exact gap, he missed the cutoff and didn't finish...

Sports medium suggests the Stratos or the Dino, so it must be the Silvia  :dopey:

Well that was one of the most stressful races I've ever had... Not because of the opposition, it was quite a calm win, but because of my connection. 1 bar from lap 12 onwards :nervous: I checked my ping after the race and it was 522 ms... needless to say I'm not going again for at least a few hours :scared:

@watto79 My Finnish friend told me to watch the battle you guys had on replay. Awesome stuff, that was super clean 👍 👍 Also, Sardegna looks breathtaking on the TV camera

One of the best battles I've had in GTSport in ages and seriously good fun. We were at it lap after lap. I could get along side but couldn't make a pass stick. I've put a highlights video below it was that much fun. Was hoping to out drag him to the finish line but got nudged from behind in the last corner but didn't mind in the slightest. When GTSport works, it REALLY works. Congrats on your win!

Man what a fantastic battle. If racing is like that, one just don't want it to end. Great to see :)

Just had a dream run at Sardegna. Started P11, got a little nudge from behind at T1 but the Porsche took it in its stride. Managed to miss all the crashes, take advantage of some semi serious errors and was up to P4 when I pitted end of lap 8. Much to my surprise the two I was battling with also pitted (the way they were driving I thought they may be no-stopping) and even with a tyre change, the Porsche needed so little fuel I was out in front of them both. Managed to pull away without much difficulty for over six seconds gap behind the finish line and for a couple of laps from about lap 10 I was hounding second place. Might have managed a pass but not safely, thought I'd settle for third.
It was worth choosing the safe tactics, got about 1000 DR points :D
Oh and the bonus.... CRB.

Discovered I'd been running the wrong BB on the Megane, which partly explained my inability to match the historic laptime. Pre-pre-BoP nerf, the Megane was a chunk quicker! The Scirocco is "Nicer" to drive and just a little slower. Not bothered to try the TT.

It's sad over half the N200s have never been used before. The Silvia logically makes sense to be chosen given it's a recent addition but since logic rarely works, I think it'll be the Mazda Roadster again.

I'll naturally blame @sturk0167 if I lose.
