Have had some good races, on B and C, almost always manage to gain places, not enough to keep my DR on the rise, it does bug me I can go up 3-5 positions and not gain, in fact lose DR points.
Managed to trim my QT times so I'm starting further up the grid, it does seem to get very messy mid pack, ha.
I also seem to collect a lot of cars returning to track at 90 degree's to me, not all ghosting

Well I jumped into the daily races again, I did four races in race B which has been fun. Started pole position in all 4, feels like Christmas around here. The first race I started to walk away but made an error the final lap and P2 caught me, I sent it flying thru the gravel by accident the next turn... Nerves were definitely to blame lol. Finished up 6th

Won the next two races rather closely tho, kept it clean for the bonus.

The last race was an interesting series of events. Blew thru a turn and lost the lead but took it back. Me and this guy were doing some serious rubbing but no penalties. Fell back to P3 but took P2 with a dive. The P3 car collected a 2 sec penalty for turning in on me. Then he pushed me off track with a shove from the inside before the chicane. Which earned another sec penalty. I picked up P2 at the finish.

Interested for Race C next week although that sounds like another no stopper. Whatever happened to strategy in race C :(
Last time this combo was around in race C (which I think was in March?), it was a one stopper with fuel saving. Don't know if the multipliers were different back then, but PD don't tend to change them for the same combo.

Next week's races are quite good btw. Sardegna B is a fun track in Gr.4 and Bathurst in Gr.3 looks good. I hope it's a night race, that would be great :dopey:

Yep, PD generally don't tend to change multipliers but it's the case with Gr.3 Bathurst next week. Previous multipliers back in March were 6x fuel, 9x wear and a choice of H or M tyres.

The likely reason for the change is to bring up to date with almost all Race Cs in the past months: straight up races to the finish line with little to no strategy involved. Kind of a disappointment, I'd like to see races back with multiple strategies rather than "forcing" one on everyone. Although at least it isn't another Gr.4 race.

My first Race C of the night was pretty rough. Booted through the chicane on the first lap again, and it put me in last. Got as high as 8th, got punted again, and then couldn’t get out of my own way and finished P13. Down 700DR.

Rant time

Beating a dead horse here but pretty much every race I’ve done so far has been pretty rough. There tons of people in sr s who just bump and run you with low percentage dives, or just weave and run you off track when you try and pass. The lobbies didn’t seem this bad before that one patch that made the collision penalties non existent, now you have a bunch of people in SR S who don’t belong there and the current system still hasn’t weeded them out yet. It’s getting annoying

In one of the races I was coming out of the penultimate corner on Laguna with someone right behind me. I very clearly stick to the inside for the final corner and the guy stays on my tail, rams me into the dirt then has the balls to blame me for “blocking” afterwards.

I didn’t even really make one move to defend. I just stayed parallel with the edge of the track after the corner exit and made sure he had no room on the inside. I give pretty much the entire track yet I am still blamed for blocking, what a ****ing moron.

Working days is really messing with my game/track time lol had only an hour or so the last two days to try and do qualifying laps. Then wife gets home and there is to much distraction to put in good times and especially to race. Tonight she works late though, so i plan on racing for a few hours when i get home...... after my free after work beverage of course.

That dooeeesn't look very "dairy" to me. ;)

Things like that are what make me think PD needs to include sportsmanship and racing etiquette in the next title. Some sort of licensing involving these things before someone can race online is necessary. The amount of people who don't understand these concepts is pretty staggering.

Went back out to the Nurbring GP, tried the R8 and maybe my driving has improved since i tried it last. It was totally manageable, no crazy sliding around. I set the BB to +2 the rear. I'm still a hair faster with the AMG.

I downloaded some ghosts to see where I'm losing time on the leaders. I got my "optimal" time down to 1:57.0 with the AMG. I did string together a 1:57.33x before I called it quits today.

Sometimes I get to a point where my driving just gets worse and I had reached that point.

After disappointing FIA results from last Sunday I decided to turn to the Daily B for a morale boost... lol... but things went from bad to worse. Lost DR A to B and I found myself losing SR ratings like no tomorrow.

Forward to today, Some piece of work driver divebombed me twice... I mean, straight for T-bone hits... and I got 4 secs for each!! Are you kidding me? After that race I was downgraded to SR C hell...

So Today I set myself with the mission to recover and be back to A/S... done for the day: I had 8 wins, 2 poles, 2 second places, 1 third, and other ranging from 4-10.

The key is definitely starting up front. Worth noting that today’s wins were not over my usual competition but there were plenty of fast drivers using alt accounts.

With all these results, Still just shy from DR A and stuck in SR B. Let’s see what tomorrow brings.

I agree. The MR cars were a treat. Those cars used to do the "MR sliiiiide" off-throttle mid-corner. I'm still not game to try them at Bathurst though.

Yes! Absolutely none of that happened it was so pleasant to drive. But I did discover my trail braking was causing a lot of these stability problems. Did they change something on the MR cars during the update? I just thought it was our new and improved penalty system.

OMG...Race C is destructive, weaver, powerless, and pure luck. I only raced once and quit lap 4 laughing that ain't so-called race at all. Never look back. Race A is a lot better.

God I love Tsukuba.
Scored Pole on day one. Move hard right to secure the inside for T1, before I blew it down at the next left anyway. Ended up with a fantastic race for the lead with a driver prepared to leave enough room to go two wide through all corners, lap after lap. Eventually took the win from him on the same turn I initsly surrendered the lead.

Anyway, race B.
My go to GR.3 car is the 911, but felt like making a new livery and had an idea in mind.
Sadly, the Gr.3 supra plasters its racing number smack bang in the middle of the huge door panel (why can't we move these...) So I've tried the FT-1 concept.
Are these any good for GR.3 races?

Ps. Rate it or hate it?

Not sure. Maybe players that use MR cars religiously, could answer that.

Any guesses on what the meta will be for next week's Gr.3 at Bathurst? It's been so long since we last got this combo that I've forgotten. The Supra probably, right?

EDIT:
Oh, I remember. It's the F1 McLaren. That little rocket is unstoppable on the straights.

Not sure how it will be on the mountain, but at Nurburgring 24h I really like the Peugeot VGT, very fast on the straights - pretty much predictable on the Nordschleife. I would definitely give it a chance, worst case I will go back to my always safe option 911 RSR.

Next week's races
A: N200 - Autopolis - 3 laps - Sports Hard
B: Gr.4 - Sardegna Road B - 4 laps - Racing Hard
C: Gr.3 - Mount Panorama - 9 laps - Racing Hard - x3 fuel, x7 tyres

well what a surprise where race a is, not! once again one of their fav tracks is back even tho it was only here a few weeks ago. i wonder if they could actually give us a track that they don't favour at all one of these weeks, it would be nice if they could.

It's fast but isn't great on tyres. Last combo, the McLaren was recently added to the game which saw an uptick in popularity and the race back then was a one stop so that mitigated tyre wear concern. Next week is looking like a no stop.

I think that depends on how well you manage your tyres and fuel. Spa was supposed to be a no stopper, yet some people needed to refuel and others pitted for fresh tyres.

After running a couple of Race As last night (and getting dive bombed out of both of them -- it's just not safe starting in the top 2 there, at least in the rooms I've been in), I ran some laps at Bathurst in Gr 3. That's going to be a rough combination for me to be fast in. With BOP on, I was running like 2:08s, or the same pace as the fast guys in Gr 4 on softs, haha.

The last time it was run in Gr 3 on hard tires, the fastest qualifying time was 2:01 and to crack the top 1000 in the Americas, you needed a low 2:06. Since that was a year and a half ago, I bet the times will be faster this time. I could probably get there (the 2:05-2:06 range) with some practice, but I just don't get along with the track that well, haha. I'll give the circuit experience a few more run-throughs for the tricky turns and see what happens.

My progress usually depends on the quality of ghosting, if the game doesn't ghost the crashing cars quickly enough then you get caught in the incident and your race is stuffed. Given the current penalties and all the walls we could see some penalty carnage.
