Decided to mess around in the C race. 1st race was sunshine and rainbows. 2nd race...
You'd think that in a "top split" race, people would try to drive decently. Nope. This was one of the filthiest races I've EVER been in; I need to be powerwashed to get the filth out. Some of these people obviously had their SR boosted by the last update and didn't belong in S SR. Right at the start, one individual pushes another car off and gets a 1s penalty... then does a Turn 1 punt. Takes out 5 cars, including me. No penalty.

On the turn leading to the corkscrew, I'm battling it out with someone. The car behind us doesn't brake, hits the other car, which hits and sends me to the gravel.

Same story happens a few laps later to me.

Turn after the corkscrew, someone goes off track, makes the re-entry of the century, hits two cars, and sends them to the realm.

Truly unbelievable. I never thought I'd see this kind of 🤬.
Come to Pigems' lobby tonight. The last race is a dirty race. It will be cathartic. 👍

Glad i switched to my alternate tonight. Some nice clean racing to be had, but the Need For Speed crew seemed to be out in force, dropped to SR 74 in two races. I did put one particular dirty driver into the gravel, was quite proud of the clean execution, ha.

This is a fun one but who is at fault?

a) Me, for :censored:Posting before the race
b) The black Mercedes (or the car behind which had pushed him)
c) The grey/red Audi for [insert your own description]
d) The penalty system for unjust penalties causing revenge
e) All of the above

You. The Audi was not at fault. The Merc was pushed.

You created an account to reply to this? Hmmmm....
Nope. Not sure what your problem is. Either board 'experience' snobbery or Dunning Kreuger. You don't like my opinion? Fair enough. Just have the balls to say so in the first place.

Have a good day.

Still stuck in SR B Hell lol...

This guy (starting 3rd in the video) was in few of my races today. Every time he was on a mission to take me out, no matter what. My only chance of escaping his wrath was to do T1 as fast as possible, but that was not even a possibility since I had to slow down and he would come full speed on me.

This last race I decided to turn it around and delay the braking point to almost missing the turn... and it worked like a charm, the idiot went through me after he was ghosted and got stuck in the gravel. Ultimately he quit the race, just like every raced he was in. Never finished one.

You can see the cars following me in the turn and not following their lines... after turn 2 I went on to win the race with 7 secs to spare.

Serious question: I'm a newcomer to online racing (derr ...). I can see this ****wit has had a DR OF B in the recent past, and yet a point score of just one very soon after. Can DRs vary by this much?

I've only been on a month, and slooooooowly improving, with an SR in the high 90s most of the time, qual times dramatically improving (yet race results still relatively poor (trying to not get punted off and consequently playing it too safe). My DR and points are still in the toilet.

Is this experience normal?

Newcomer?

288 days.

Your history is an absolute wreck.

Your attempt at a dive bomb in T1 was not that of a newbie. It was bad, like really bad but it shows you're not an amateur, and it's not your first time.

No, you have the wrong person. I'm not the hit merchant in question.

Going back to the races, is it just me or the R8 breaking is much, much better than other Gr3 cars? Yesterday the R8s were breaking much later than me in a Merc and still getting to the corner better than I was.

Just you. I tried and the Lexus and Mustang out braked the R8. Possibly because you don't have to move the BB to make the cars more stable.

Haven't tried the Lexus or the Mustang, just the Beetle (very briefly) and the Merc.

The R8 is a MR car. MR cars has naturally a higher corner speed so they need shorter distance to reduce their speed adequate for the corner.

I personally think moving the BB forward slows you down with the R18, you increase your braking distance and the increase in stability costs you time on turn in, faster to just manage the oversteer. Although everyone has different driving styles i guess so its all relative to that

Thank god. I was up early and got 2 races in at Tsukuba. Early morning races typically have more DR up for grab since they are always mixed A/B/C, and they’re infinitely cleaner because only dickbags like me are racing at 6AM. 2 CRB and 2 P4s.

Edit: My optimal laps are in the 5s now there but I can’t string it together. I’m over it, haha. Any hot lapping this weekend will be at next week’s tracks.

R8 you mean I think. Well, moving your BB forward decreases your braking distance, since the front takes a higher part of the braking and is more effective. But it also induces understeer. So I guess it´s just a matter of personal preference like you say.

Sorry yeah R8

Real world you are correct, i find in GT my braking distances suffer with forward BB - possibly due to trail braking being worse. But i haven't tested it properly it should be said

Also, when I move BB forward on the R8 the back end wants to kick out a lot more.

Any thoughts on the Vette? Looks like a stable and fast car, somewhere between the Merc and the Mustang.

Edit: I managed to knock my time down to a 1:58.081 , don't know how much quicker I can go, maybe 0.4 secs, but then the lap has to be perfect. :D

With brake balance you only want it far enough forward to have minimal ABS activation (any ABS is wasted braking effort). It's preferable to have the rear end, particularly in MR/RR cars, doing a good proportion of the total braking effort to maintain stability and not standing the car on its nose.
