That dooeeesn't look very "dairy" to me. ;)

Umm, what do you mean.... lol dairy closed a little over two years ago, but after 13 years there all my names in all the places is dairyworker and it's to much work/trouble to change lol

Had a handfull of good races at tsukuba yesterday @BenRod was there. Nice to see you on the track sir:cheers: nothing to eventfull happend, some great racing and good competition. Had an incident in the last race where i ended up with a penalty for being hit. Still prefer the racing under this system to no penalty system.

Three good races this morning in my usual time slot, got the day off. Hope to get a lot of seat time today, maybe I'll see some of you out there. Happy friday homies:gtpflag::cheers:

Spoke to soon maybe. Next race had two pinballs on the track tbrough the first two turns. After that they were so far behind it wasn't an issue, probably cost me two spots by the end. The race was good other than that though.

Yep, PD generally don't tend to change multipliers but it's the case with Gr.3 Bathurst next week. Previous multipliers back in March were 6x fuel, 9x wear and a choice of H or M tyres.

The likely reason for the change is to bring up to date with almost all Race Cs in the past months: straight up races to the finish line with little to no strategy involved. Kind of a disappointment, I'd like to see races back with multiple strategies rather than "forcing" one on everyone. Although at least it isn't another Gr.4 race.
Well that's a pity. To be honest, x3 fuel and fuel saving didn't really check out as I was writing the post. Don't get why they're suddenly allergic to strategy, FIA races have been losing variety in strategies as well lately :boggled:

Any guesses on what the meta will be for next week's Gr.3 at Bathurst? It's been so long since we last got this combo that I've forgotten. The Supra probably, right?
.

Supra, F1, F-type, GTR, Mustang. I remember the Jag in particular is really good there, fast on the straights and pretty stable over curbs and big dips in the track.

You tell me now who's insane. There's an art to all this madness. Tho' it seems insane you! Yes with my SR slowly bleeding away 3 pts at a time, I once more entered the fray. Like the man who's fault it all is says "balls to the wall!". I gave the plucky M3 a shot. It's an angry sounding little thing. Managed to break into the 2.00s... but not as deeply as I knew I could before I ran outta time. That still had me starting back in P9/16 (slowly creeping up ..P12, then P10, now P9 (not counting the first race where I qualified and started on wets  .).

Race starts, and theres a bit of a kafufel at T1. I managed to slip through across the inside and pass a few people trying to get their transmissions to hook up. As the lap unfolded more people came of. On the second lap I was having an awesome 3 way battle with a fellow Aussie and a Japanese driver. the three of us were going round some of the tight corners two wide and weaving in and out of each other on the exits without making contact. The M3 was awesome, I had enough control to be able to hug the inside all the way around the corner and not push the car next to me out wide on the exit .

On the third lap I had gotten away from them and passed some cars with penalties and some that spun out. I started lap 4 in P3 right on the tail of P2. I was kinda freakin out at this stage. I made a mistake involving smoke from all 4 wheels and P2 pulled away... P4 closed the gap. He wasn't on radar, but from the time gap, I knew he was not too far off. I was expecting a lunge at the chicane.. mercifully that didn't happen :scared:. P3 finish from P9 start with no orange SR's... happy with that! <happy dance>

SR went up 5, so 1 shy of regaining the 6 I lost over the last 2 nights. DR went up about 850. The DR/C journey continues :dopey:.

Across the top of the mountain, in any GT3 car, doesn't matter too much. Those runs up Mountain Straight and down Conrod, are where you'll need a GT-R, Mustang, Ford GT or F1. Don't know if the Vantage still has top end.

With that said, someone always finds a way to make an unpopular car competitive.

Which cars are good at Nürburgring GP other than 911, R8 and Mercedes?

R8 has been a pain in the 🤬. One race it slides around like crazy, other race it's planted as hell and wouldn't slide even if I tried to.
Mercedes feels a little too heavy for me, couldn't match my time in the R8, although it doesn't oversteer as much.
911 is kind of a meh, I've been driving it a lot lately.
Tried the Lexus as well, was off with half a second from the R8.

Usually you . I know I'll be starting off with the Mustang....it makes me feel dirty, but it's tradition. At some point I'll be there with the Corvette... I missed qually for the night race of @paoloevans Sprint Cup Asia's Bathurst round, so I'm kinda looking forward to running the daily .

I was consistently faster in the Mustang than in anything else. Added bonus is that I only saw two others so far this week.

Guilty pleasure :D
You know you love the Ford :P

I think that depends on how well you manage your tyres and fuel. Spa was supposed to be a no stopper, yet some people needed to refuel and others pitted for fresh tyres.

Without cherry picking Spa which was one of few races in recent time with a strategy, most C races in the last few months have not had one. Laguna this week, Gr.3 Suzuka, N300 Nordschleife, Gr.3 Laguna, Autopolis Gr.3 etc. I could be wrong about next week (I'd like to be, lol) but flat out races have definitely been a more focal point lately.

Another reason the McLaren might not be meta this time is without M tyres, it doesn't grip well and is heavy on turning with Hs (tank-like) in my experience. The game has also changed a lot since March '19 in terms of grip level, physics and tyre model.

I thought much the same that this race would be another gr3 no stopper but I briefly tested the pitstop loss earlier and was surprised to find it's less than 4 seconds in group 3 compared to around 7 in group 4.

I'm not sure what sort of shape the tyres will be in come the last few laps but I can imagine that a fresh set of tyres on lap 4-5 will be worth more than 4 seconds over 2nd half of race.

Think maybe more strategy involved than it first looks.

I’m pretty sure it was the Nissan GTR that was the Meta last time. :)

Yep, I remember seeing a few of them but way more McLarens. I dug up an old replay when I was in Ford GT and a full refuel at the pits wasn't enough . I think it was around high DR B level so a bit more meta: 8 McLarens, GT-R, 2 Beetles, Genesis, 650s, AMG, SLS, RCF and a Spura.

I often used the AMG since it's a solid all-rounder and it won the IRL Bathurst race. This was the race that got me interested in watching some real racing (coincides with the real event like next week) so kind of memorable.

Although like I said before, it could be a different meta this time without M tyres and other factors.

I'm really liking the Mustang! It's really consistent and quick, once you're used to it.
Thank you for the recommendation!

View attachment 886533 Have the rules changed? I supposed to be DR A once over 30k points

Edit: my SR B might have something to do with it...?

.
Yes it does have something to do with it. When you go from one DR rank to the next, your SR cannot be lower than the next DR rank. So SR D cannot rank up to DR C, SR C cannot rank up to DR B, etc. :)

That's interesting, I'm still skeptical though. x7 tire wear on hards is a typical setting for Gr.3 race C and if you can tire save well, pace loss will be minimal as the decreasing fuel load will make up for most of it. Traffic will be an issue too because Bathurst is quite narrow.

Mediums would force a 1 stop without a doubt, but we'll have to see about this one on Monday.

My clean streak is now at 11. Did 1 morning Race A. Started pole. Finished 3rd. I hate pole at Tsukuba.

Actually turning out to be my longest clean streak. 4-5 races now where I started high and was not knocked out on T1. 👍

+ 1 more Race A in the afternoon. Exact same result.

Makes sense! - will keep on going :)

It's very underrated in my opinion. It used to be a problem in twisty parts, but setting the BB to the rear makes it turn in just fine. Off throttle turn in is good too.

Edit: if I run into you in a race I will regret tipping you to it :)

Yeah, stable while braking and off the throttle, I left BB at 0 at it worked just fine for me.

Haha, we'll see, one day it'll happen. ;)

Decided to mess around in the C race. 1st race was sunshine and rainbows. 2nd race...
You'd think that in a "top split" race, people would try to drive decently. Nope. This was one of the filthiest races I've EVER been in; I need to be powerwashed to get the filth out. Some of these people obviously had their SR boosted by the last update and didn't belong in S SR. Right at the start, one individual pushes another car off and gets a 1s penalty... then does a Turn 1 punt. Takes out 5 cars, including me. No penalty.

On the turn leading to the corkscrew, I'm battling it out with someone. The car behind us doesn't brake, hits the other car, which hits and sends me to the gravel.

Same story happens a few laps later to me.

Turn after the corkscrew, someone goes off track, makes the re-entry of the century, hits two cars, and sends them to the realm.

Truly unbelievable. I never thought I'd see this kind of 🤬.
