I'm with you on that. I usually stay clear of battles as the drivers will usually take each other out. I'm not sure that the approaching driver was at fault here, I don't blame him. It's the other driver that cannot decide which side of the track he wants after making a mistake.It's equally annoying when people seize the opportunity, knowing that you are being abused by a reportable idiot, to attack, rather than show some sportsmanship in allowing you to manage it without the need to defend from their attack.
Same driver from two nights ago, makes a mistake, cuts across the track, then cuts back after I'm committed, then squeezes me out and rams me for good measure. I did try to message him, but I think I blocked him previously because it wouldn't let me. Also, he's the type of driver that exits as soon as the race ends. He's almost always the first one gone.
