Sorry I quit that race. I got 2 SR downs in the first lap because everybody around me was going psycho and trying kill to everyone else. Figured I should get the hell out of there before I got 5 SR downs.

That would have been the smart thing to do in that mixed SR.A / SR.S lobby  Whatever, competition is more friendly down here.

Btw, I miss my coffee break during the Sarthe straight :dopey:

It was a real thing and took a long time to fix.

Edit: This is the correct thread with the fix

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/grip-bug-thread-v2.373389/

See the way the driver was talking I wasn't sure if they were referencing an actual bug/glitch or not. I've never heard of this before. But from the way the thread describes it, I should have benefitted by multiple seconds per lap if they were talking about that bug specifically. Which is funny because they still had the fastest lap by what, a couple hundredths? Seems watching replays can teach you the lines the fastest drivers take but it can't teach consistency.

Have you noticed that it's the same racing line in both directions on the track? So better not trust it on a reverse track.
That might very well be the reason the track feels so off in reverse.

Hmm I never noticed but I know Gardens reverse I had it on and it seemed close.
It’s very very conservative and slow at Brands tho. Jmo but Gardens Seaside and Maggiore for me are nightmares in reverse.
I won’t even try racing them.
Reverse is weird.
That said I’ve never raced reverse layouts enough to notice if the lines are different.

This 100pct.

I can tell if I am doing well by my consistency. Not raw speed. I have solid speed but gain most of my time and good results by simply maintaining that through a race rather than having laps all over the place and wrecking. Got several good finishes over the last couple of weeks by not having the fastest lap but having all my laps near the same time.

Except for that evil tertre rouge penalty that you served on mulsanne straight.

In my last race I got punted off right at the start. I chased him down through the field, caught up on the middle straight and executed the perfect pit manoever penalty free (no clue why no penalty). The opportunity presented itself, too good to pass up. Somehow that demands respect as we parted the lobby on good terms instead of the usual "cry baby" nonsense. Humans

Love it! The yellow brick road should always walk people who use it down the fast-in, slow-out line. Would make things easier for everyone. More runway for people who can't brake along with a clear fast lane for those who can read a track.

The way I play other games is what built my consistency in GT Sport. In PC2 I basically only do custom hour-long GT3 races. In F1 2019 I do full-length races. Driving consistently for 20 minutes in Daily Race C is second-nature now.

What I thought was a fairly good race at the end, in reality was cheating on my part, apparently. I immediately was called a ”cheater," which surprised me because there was never any contact between us, and all I could reply with was "What??" because I had no idea how they thought I was cheating. They asked how I was faster in the final corner, which I noticed throughout the race that they were losing time on me there.

If he was a better driver, he would know that some cars exhibit certain characteristics that other cars don't. My best example: I used the Viper yesterday. It already appeared to be deemed the META car for the week. I saw how I could carry 3-5 MPH more through the final corner than the Corvette (which I set my fastest QT in). Also, reporting someone just makes them feel like they are being heard by the developers. We already know that they are not investigating single incidents. Hell, if someone slams you off the track & you report it, nothing happens.

I crashed on my own the race after this, @Sven Jurgens your record is safe:

Not sure what I'm more shocked at, race wins or the clean race streak?

I guess I fall somewhere in between the two of you. Often, I'll use the meta for qualifying, but switch to something else I'm more comfortable with for racing.

I think that happens a lot at race C, because the best Q car is sometimes bad for tire wear and fuel consumption.

I typically only do that when my favorite cars can't get anywhere close to a good time to start races near the front.

Right here, just click on your region or world to see the time sheet. :)

Wow Pigems, #122. @KiepeYai #143. @Chevy Heavy #190. Damn @Qyn, where did you pull that lap time from on Race C? Now I'm curious....#594. Oh. :boggled: Main account....#1140. :dunce:

, we better enjoy race C while it last because sooner we are going back to FF fest , this week is the first ive been trying multiple cars in races and i really enjoy it, run both 650s , viper , m4 , f pace , altenza ,huracan , megane. my qualy time was 39.1 until i tried the mighty wrx , i quickly pulled a 38.2 and it wasnt a perfect lap, the 4wd/awd are the way to go for me, i can take some turns flatout without lifting to turn in

That explains why I had to pass 2 of them & hold one off in my win last night.

I've had a couple of good results playing well above my weight at Race B this week because of this. It's faster to lap a little slower and stay on track than it is trying to replicate a unciorn Q time in race and spend half a second recovering from a slide or 5 - 15 seconds fighting my way out of a sand trap every fifth turn.

I'm still feeling out the M4 in Race C but i was thinking of a change too. The Atenza, 650S, WRX and Lancer might be up next. What kind of tire wear are you racers experiencing out there?

Cruise missle targeting system malfunctioned. Taking a short break. Would have been nice to connect but there’s always next time. Good thing and bad things about easy to remember handles. Looks like it’s wabbit season.

It gets easier when u find the rhythm, particularly @ the four brothers, and that last sector,,

and FF munchs the front tires , I’m always happy seeing them ahead of me because one way or another i know I’ll get them

Decided to spend some more time testing cars for Race C in the qualifying lobby. Good news is that I dropped my Q time by over a second... bad news is that it was with the TT. Was also able to run much more consistent laps close to my Q time with it... everything else except the RCZ is at least 2 seconds slower per lap than the TT when looking at multiple laps are strung together. Maybe a 1 pit strategy @ 7/8 is in my future...

Finally sat down yesterday and took about an hour trying to get a good qualifying lap on C, never played that track before. Got it down to 1:37:990 - with a half second penalty due to cutting that darn chicane.
Qualified 7th, finished 6th, with door number 8 gained 700DR. Good race.

Even made a nice livery for the C occasion. No anime to see here, just IKEA

Hello,

One question, how much Sr and Dr will u drop if u quit during the race ?
SR -5 for quitting, but if you had positive SR in game it might be less. What was SR down before quitting is also taken.
DR is another story. It depends on your DR and the other in the lobby's DR.
But it's the equivalent of being DFL.

Hello,

You earn SR for each sector you complete without incident. If you quit during the race in dailies, you only lose your potential earnings for the remainder of the race and the -5 mentioned by @RacingGrandpa

For DR, you are scored according to your position on the results board, with approximately the top half gaining and the bottom half losing. When you quit or get disconnected, your position on the results board is determined by distance completed and you will lose DR according to that result. If you're first to quit your result will be last place and will lose DR as if you had completed the race in last place.
If other drivers have quit before you, you will be placed further up the results board and lose less DR accordingly.
In either case, the exact amount will vary depending on the DR of the other drivers in the race in relation to yours.

Edit: It takes so long to type on a phone screen

You're just surprised that I made it through an entire race without ramming anybody
It's cos you pick your races well and run with it
I swear the nurb races you always do tonnes of pretty sure we have had a good few one on ones in slidey porsches, I can usually keep up and have a go by the end but for some reason I keep running wide on the bridge with this week track limits! (Why is there even track limits there)
Cant believe you have done double the amount of races as me I thought I'd done a couple haha

Whelp. Should have pulled what @sturk0167 did and quit a race tonight. Dirty driver pushed me into the sand turn 1 at race A. I save it but get SR down. Get rear ended into druids. SR down again. Phantom contact penalty while running down to Graham Hill for a 2 seconds and then rear ended at the final turn for another SR down.

That was only lap 1. Stupid me engaged said driver. Did 1 clean pass and got side swiped for another SR down so just was determined to beat them. Bad idea.

Started the race at 39.4KDR and 93 SR. Ended at 7K DR and 13 SR. A record as far as my record is concerned.

Oh yeah, they got a Blue S at the end. Gooner gonna pay at some point. Apparently my next several days will amount to seal clubbing while I build up my SR. This sucks. I still dont understand how I can get punted 3 times and get penalized every time and they are clean while if I so much as brush their paint I get an SR down.

I will now be sulking in SR hell.

Feel sorry for You, felt the same few days ago. Penalty system is the most wanted upgrade as a whole for the GT7 I think. Now You never know what brings the next race even if You try to stay clear, it's just lottery, the SR drops are immense with no reason and mainly without fault of the punished one.
As a consolation, You will get a row of wins now, feeling lightning fast :D. Comeback to standard DR level will be rapid, as I did.

Yeah, about lap 3 I knew it was an idea to quit, but I'm not always the brightest. Just won a race at Brands by 11.7 seconds. I am still running the times, just want to get my SR back. 2 CRB from that level got me 26 SR to make it to 39. The Satchel of Richards that did this only got a steady run at 99 in last couple of months. Before that never been to 99 SR. I just hate the grind to build the SR. DR can come and go, SR is a real challenge.

Yeah, right, I often just take my foot off the loud pedal and let go when I see an aggressive driver behind me just in case to avoid unwanted contact, which is not exactly what is racing all about. And there is really no sense in it, when one can block the inside line before the corner or wave the car left-right on the main straight to not let pass, this is fair play, but when you're being punted from behing the system penalizes you...

Just had a race where I was outside at druids to ensure I didnt rear end the other driver accidentally (after they pushed me wide to get position) and they swerve to the outside to punt me off . . . And i get a 4 second penalty. Most all races I had there all week were fun and clean tonight has really put a damper on it. And so far all 3 drivers are from the same place, and driving the same color mini. Wonder if that color is a warning I need to heed or something.

I don't see the point in track limits here, if you go over the lines you're either in the middle of a crash or dirtying your tyres ready to have one at the next corner. I like the track limits in Dirt, they look at your times for the dirty lap and compare them to your others, if you've gone faster it's a penalty otherwise it's no harm no foul. The same would be perfect for contact penalties, I had a couple on my alt last night for running into the back of people not accelerating out of corners (my fault but didn't cost anybody else any time).

Yeah, I do too many races  If I get a combination like Le Mans last week or the Nurburgring this week I hit it hard.
