My no qualifying policy turned out to be a huge handicap on Le Mans as I'm basically starting on pole of all the people that don't know the track, right in front of that chicane before the start.... It took 4 races to get out of SR.A due to getting punted and receiving a penalty each time. And what happens in the first max SR.S race, I start 20th, 13 to 19 take each other out in that chicane before the start and I start the race in 13th...

The other problem is that despite not qualifying I'm back in DR.A, back to full vulnerability to the penalty system :/ So far so good, knock on wood. Only 1 penalty in that max SR.S race due to, I don't know actually. Was it too much green, 2 wheels on the blue, over the dotted line, too much kerb, who knows with these delayed penalties, just stay in the middle...

Starting 17th now, last, I guess 3 got booted from matchmaking.
Edit; Finished 3rd penalty free, fun stuff.

I was 2nd in that race you got 3rd in. Clean, penalty free racing and decent qualifying time was the way to go last night.

Not my best morning, managed to get my points reset yet again. I ended up down in D/E for a bit because of this. Lesson? Don't jump in races until you have spent a reasonable amount of time getting down to a decent time [except for Monza where sometimes I set no time]
Going into the first corner at Dragon Trail mid pack in a B/C race did my manner point no favors at all . Anyway after a afternoon chasing the dragon I have dragged myself back up to B/B, no wins yet but plenty of top 3 finishes.

Well I am back to posting on the forums again, last week was a week off work and as you will all know I got my DR/SR into quite a bad state
so I took some time out from posting to race a lot and this is me reporting in.

It was a pretty good week race wise and track wise. Really loved the one make races for the Grp 4 Veyron and the F1500 and finally made me purchase those cars and must say I am suitably impressed, I really love the F1500 though I had the misfortunate to be in hugly mismatched race lobbies (A+) and grip bug central which meant I didn't do very well.

The one race I ended up in with the top 10 ranked 1:34 F1500 racer and he most certainly was taking ful advantage of the grip bug.

The best race for me though was Circuit De La Sarthe on Sunday, I didn't qualify very high as I only got a 4:04 lap time but I still consider that pretty good for Grp3 and most of my races I finished in the top 5.

The net result of my holiday week is DR rank B with 10,619 points and SR is rank S but is 87/99 but that is because I did some Fiat 500 racing
this morning and wrecked my SR rep.

Haven't checked for this week's race schedule yet which I will do shortly but overall I encountered some good racing last week so I'm going to
stick with it (until Forza Horizon 4 anyway)

I had finished my 322nd daily race and I got the following proof below.

Congrats man!

I've been at 70-ish races left for about, I dunno, 5 months now? I can't stand Sport Mode anymore, even if completing this means I get a platinum trophy. It literally feels like a chore whenever I think about doing it, it's so dry. I HAVE to put time in to get a fantastic lap, then I need to try and finish well, then I get 3 points for the race. :banghead: No thanks.

I have also had my trophy for 322 races for a little while but I know what you mean when you say that it's a bit of a chore but you don't have to put in fantastic laps to get the trophy, just being in the race is enough to count towards the total so it really does not matter where you finish but it depends how much you want to keep your DR/SR level I guess.

322 is the last trophy I need. i enjoy Sport Mode, but I'm very picky about my car and track combo, so i rarely play it. I had 91 wins after about 160 races. I find myself mindlessly grinding the Oval races when they're daily races, just to get my completion up.

Once I hit 322, I might just "retire" at A/S and transition to Online Lobbies only.

Usually, if it’s someone behind I’ll let them pass so not to have my race disrupted and hope they take out the guy in front of me, or at least crash once he’s got no cars in front to use as brakes.
ing of L
Works 60% of the time, every time.

Here was my strategy on LeMans. I let them pass before the straight, then draft til I'm up beside them. I let them think I'm not going to back out going into the corner, then brake at the last second and watch them fly off from carrying too much speed. Hilarious and works 60% of the time, usually.

Speaking of LeMans, I had a ****ed up race last night. Pitting from 4th for gas and 5th comes in hot behind me and slams me. I do a 180 into the sand facing the wrong way and get reset back on the track with less than a lap of fuel left. So I go to map 6 and make it around to pit. I come out 9th right in back of 8th, but he pulls away. Then 2 911's catch up and pass me right before the end. Only after the race do I realize I forgot to set the map back to 1. :banghead:

What do you guys think about this incident? I think he didn’t actually want to ram me off the track but he could have stayed a bit more inside. Should have been like 1 second penalty for him I guess.

Anyone noticed how fiat500 hood is always grey when in roof cam?
Thought I was going mad

Edit: wow the ram train in race A!

T2 lap 4, im 03, get rammed off but I manage to stay on track, just to get chain barged by a train of 8 cars.. Dead last, 1k dr gone.
Ain't doing that one again lol.

Edit 2:
Did ngp instead, got brakechecked and zigzag blocked by a guy for 2 entire laps, he would speed up, then hard brake when I leave him space on straights to get me to boost him. That was "fight" for 7th..
I finally managed to ghost thru him after he got me 4 orange sr penalties with 8s total..

ShOuld have never logged on..

I thought it was fixed a few updates ago (early April). It could be coincidence but that one lands exactly on or very close to 50k, at the same time as a big SR drop, and after the player seemed to reach their level so it was an uncharacteristic jump up. The other possibility is that he simply hasn't played much at all recently, and the reset happened before it was fixed.

I think you are correct, it must have been a reset before the fix as landing exactly on 50K would be quite the achievement

Day 96 50000 B 23 C

He has 209 days game access to he might have just been playing in lobbies showing off his DR.S label after fixing the SR.

It got better after asshole hour (7pm to 8pm EST). I got alternatively matched in A+ / A rooms or A / B rooms, no more A+ to D rooms. I did want to see what I could get with qualifying yet never got to it. My best was 4:04 in the race without drafting, yet by that time pole was already at 3:57.

5 laps on Le Mans on Sunday? Sounds like it won't have chicanes then because the track with chicanes is only 4 laps.

In hindsight, that shows how much difference those two chicanes can add to lap time when you remember that they have to follow a schedule of 20 minutes per race.

That bend at the end of the straight will be straight up carnage...Oh God!

Damn I was already losing attention on the way to the first fast chicane and completely missed my brake point twice slamming into the wall while watching tv. No wall to slam into at Mulsanne, just people. I guess the slight right will save everyone from me falling asleep on the straight :)

Actually it's GR.1, wasn't that 5 laps before with chicanes? I'm pretty sure it was.

So, today I was supposed to get back to over DR 50k. I only needed 500pts.

Race C, qualified in the top 10, got pole on the first race and of course I get blue screened. Checked kudosprime and to my surprise nothing chang- oh wait no I got a DR hit of 2k pts *and* my SR dropped to 94.

Still, feeling confident I could get to A+ in two races or so. Second race, I was third on the grid. First corner goes well, didn't want to challenge the guys in front but OF COURSE there had to be that one idiot who tries to overtake three cars in one go on the first corner of an 11 lap race. Hits me, I hit the guy in front and I get the 3s penalty. Awesome. Very fun. Oh and SR down to 91.

Does Kaz realize even how much of a joke his game has become?

This is just depressing. I rarely have any fun now. It's just unnecessary stress and coping with setbacks.

Sometimes being in SR B has its perks, like the opposition being so out of their element, so you're able to get a result like this in one of your favourite cars, instead of the META:

Gran Turismo™SPORT_20180611224340.jpg

Everyone in the top 10 except for the race leader, got penalties handed to them. Mine was only 3 seconds from being forced to cut across one of those pink-coloured turns (yeah I don't know what else to call them ), and there was a time in the race where I was third, penalty still over my head, and a penalty over the second-placed driver's head too. We both chose to burn them near the bus-stop chicane for some bizarre reason, but it seems he had a heavier penalty than me, as his extended slow down period caused me to squeeze him out at the end of the chicane, sending him nose-first into the opposite wall. There was minimal contact, so I didn't get penalised for this, thankfully.
I know it may sound corny to some, but it seems like there's some symbolism behind the name of the car I drove to second place. I was completely out of my element, letting my mind wander, but this time, I decided to arrest any external thoughts and reserve my eyes for the road ahead. This is a new mentality for me, one that I would have to uphold, because this was a 'graduation' race, and I earned about 2900 driver points, enough for me to ascend to DR B.

Now, imagine being Grosjean..
Really though, if you aim for A+ it's not going to be neither easy nor necessarily fun. Stay with us earthlings and have fun instead

Well today I find myself facing the first one make races I don't think I know how to drive the car well.

I decided to focus on Race A today the Fiat 500 as slower pace on Lake Maggiore and less likelihood of penalties yet I have lost
12 SR points just by going backwards in the races and the couple of incidents I have had due to spinning out when close to other
cars.

I thought I would have to set this car to TC 0 and only have CSA on as if I try to drive it with any TC I'm too slow or end up
sliding too much in the corners.

Since the 500 is likely to appear for a few more days can someone enlighten me the settings to drive this car well before I end
up hating it completely as it's one of my favorite cars of that era.

Race B. My skill set usually puts me mid pack or back (wouldn't be so bad if I was with like times). Today I was in a set starting 3rd - finished 2nd. It is nice to start a race in front of the carnage. Like pairings make for good racing. Positions 1,2,3 were evenly matched and we had a fun race for a change.

It's rare that I get to race on a work night, but I just can't resist today's Race B.

2 hours from now I'll be tearing up Dragon Trail with my Lancer and 911, can't wait. Might even try out the Genesis and the RC-F.

Hope to see some of you awesome people on the track, and remember, nobody touch me!

It's a rear engined car, skinny Tires and soft suspension. Be smooth with the steering at the hairpin. Turn in too much and the rear becomes the front.

You can brake real late with this car. So, practice braking points.

As for the circuit, I find, the fastest way around this circuit, is getting the car pointed out the corners(squaring the corner) rather than following everyone doing the the out in out driving line.
