Just move off the line first or you will be rammed and you will cause penalties for clean racers who just dont expect you slowing down so early..

Of course, my advice is always followed by some common sense. but if you're 30m ahead of someone clean, they probably know how to dodge.

Wheee! That was .... different. If I was to match the Hatch, I'd have been driving the WRX GrB Road Car. There was a nice mix there. I qualified P7 with the 911 in a mixed grid of DRs. The surprise was the DR/S... yeh, that's right "S" .

The auto lets 'em rip and it's a mad dash to T1. I took a slow inside line to protect myself from getting shunted into the sand and it payed off. There was mayhem, and I quietly picked my way through. I had to be cautious on T2 and 3 because I was right up the rear of the cars in front and it would have been easy to rear end somebody. The 911 gave me a bit more control in that department . I was on target for a clean race when on the 3rd lap I messed up T1 and got 4 wheels into the sand right on the edge. Not happy Jan . Got back onto the track after what seemed like an ice age, and started plugging away again. I gradually crept up a bit, was in P5, found sand again and lost enough momentum to be passed by 2 cars. Held on to finish P7 with no penalties, one of the very few in the race apparently .

SR up by 8.. back into SR/S again! !! Oh yeh, DR went up as well by about 400.

I'm going to be sick. There needs to be a penalty for being that dirty... They shouldn't be playing this game.

So I am at rock bottom this morning, DR D and SR D. 👎

What is the odds of me making any improvements at all today, is it likely to get blue SR from the N400 race or should I just stick to
race C Interlagos?

Depending on the driving today it's decision day for me as I either quit online racing for good if I don't improve or keep going if things
go well so if someone could let me know on SR improvement's I'd appreciate it.

Consistency. Racing is all about consistency. Try to learn the track you're going to race and spend 30-60 minutes learning it with your favourite car.

Been doing some pre-qualifying for Brands. It's tough when it throws 80+ cars to choose from. I didn't try the X-Bow, but it was tempting. I tried a bunch of others, even had a go with the Cobra. Almost went with the heavy Chevy, but the 911 just feels more comfortable. Will see how things go at race time.

Use th Raptor. I recommend 10/10 literally no one can overtake you

The question of whether the F40 has the capacity to even move my Raptor aside, I can understand his frustrations since I've just been literally a roadblock to him for the past 2-3 laps

Second race started second again, finished 4th 3 people passed me cleanly, but everyone else just kept bumping my rear 4th got reset for some reasom though, so I got back to 4th. No complains tho

I swear the Raptor is the freaking META 10/10

Actually some of the most fun in Sport Mode I've had yet was back a couple months ago when they had that week of one-make Raptor races. It was loads of fun slinging that huge thing around the tracks. Blue Moon Infield B and Big Willow were probably my favorite.

Something I noticed was that most people seemed to be having a bit more fun than usual and weren't taking themselves quite as seriously as they do in other races. The chat messages in the lobby before and after the race were particularly entertaining. First message I saw as soon as the lobby loaded was all caps...

"TRUCKS!"

Then the next guy said "nobody touch me, I'm hot lava." I was cracking up.

Unfortunately I decided to use that hot lava line once recently before a race in a B/A lobby (post reset), and as a result one driver intentionally punted me twice in the same race. Still waiting to see him on the track again some day.

Whaaaaaaa! I qualified P13 in a grid full of As and Bs (and an SS) . If I made up any positions I'd be in with some points. I was 8 laps into the race in P8, a lap away from pitting when the system dumped me! Fire at the dico maaaaan . As far as I can tell I wasn't hit with a dummy spit penalty. A refresh on Kudos has me at the same DR and SR as before. I don't have time for another race .

Edit: another refresh has me dropping from 2570 to 1602 DR. SR went up to 91.

You're just lucky with those last two gifs. I've picked up dozens of penalties doing the exact same thing as you there. In fact the ferrari looks to have been rear ended by you straight after it cut the corner and unghosted right in front of you almost at a standstill. Normally the game thinks thats a slam dunk penalty for the car behind. If you didn't get a penalty there go buy a lottery ticket.

I got 'lucky' more than not though. In that right gif that car indeed unghosted right on top of me, yet I had been hit twice from behind already, perhaps that's why the game didn't count it. I've also been hit from behind and bumped into skipping the second half of the chicane entirely going through the blocks without getting a shortcut penalty. Yet true, in one race I ended up with a 10 sec penalty in T1 as the car in front of me suddenly stalled hitting the car in front of him.

Starting from 19th or 20th was better, then I simply stay well away at T1 by lift of the gas before the 200 marker and braking slowly to catch back up with the field after T1. That still gains you a couple positions from people in the sand and resets.

The frame rate of those gifs was also pretty much the frame rate it tanked to in T1 when the chaos was at its worst...

Looking at the stats it's clear the driver above just wants to win at any price and is quite happy to spoil the game for everyone else in the process. They have nearly 800 wins but have quit over 300 races too.

Not sure what you can do to stop someone gaming the system this badly other than ban them.

You can fix the SR system so people like this stay in SR.E. Every time you drop down it should get harder to get back up so eventually you will stay there if you don't improve a whole lot. As it is now you get a huge boost in SR.E and SR deductions at D/E are so minor if given at all, that you will rocket back up whether you want to or not.

Perhaps a modifier would help. Every race with red SR at SR.B or higher will make it 5% harder to gain SR, up to 80% reduction. Every race with blue SR at SR.A or higher will reduce that modifier by 5%. As long as you have more blue races than red you will never be affected. Yet people like this shouldn't be able to get into SR.S matches that often. Instead of getting a 2.5x boost of SR at SR.E as it seems to be now, you would only get half the normal SR at SR.E with the modifier, and a lot of driving clean to get passed SR.B to start reducing the modifier.

Instead of a simple cut off, the modifier could also be dependent on SR rank. 5% at SR.S, 4% at SR.A, etc, 1% at SR.D. Again people who mostly drive clean won't be effected. People who mostly drive dirty will find it harder and harder to get out of the lower SR ranks.

Did 1 x Race C. Renault of course.

Last time I used this car I entered the race without having ever driven it and spun it in the first corner of the first lap. So this time I decided qualify in it before hand. I'd managed to set a reasonable time after a fair amount of practice so off to the race.

Started 3rd and ended up having a good race for 2nd. I'd let a bunch of faster players by mid race thinking they must be pitting but as the laps wore on it dawned on me that one of them wasn't going in. I clocked they had the red penalty flasher on so maybe they'd have to slow for that or maybe they'd run out of fuel. I'm not sure if they were managing penalties or fuel but I had fuel to spare so I closed them down in the last few laps and managed to pip them at the end when they stopped right at the finish line to clear their penalty.

No pole, no win but a clean race for me and some interest at the end. A decent race for once.

I found Daily race A more behaving than Daily race C. In Race C somewhat I get hunted down in every race by some people I never race with it, usually it happen only in 1 race per day anyway but this thing starting from yesterday in Monza

Wow, what a road rage at Interlagos. I let some Brit in Lancer bump-pass me on T1 to take 4th, just for him to early brake and swipe in my line in T4 and I get 4s and SR down instantly. He does that two more times and I end up with almost 8s, can't pass him anywhere, he goes off track, instantly flies into racing line..

He made it his mission to get me off the track and eventually T-bones me at full speed at last turn in last lap.. I get more penalty and fall to p9 from p4..

Save your replays so sony/PD can see it and report these players, it's the only way we can weed them out. Do not mess up your own rankings by retaliating, it's tempting but not worth it. Eventually these idiots will get whats coming to them.

I am very fortunate to not see very many people like this in DR A/SR S lobbies in my region.

That KTM would not have won if the Raptor(it started fron Pole) didn't punt me after me and the 911 out cornered and passed it. The player kept driving off road in the corners, deliberately.

Next, the little S-FR was trying its hardest to pass cleanly, hut the Raptor kept going into the dirt on the corners and popping out in front of the Toyota. All the while, allowing the KTM to pull away.

When me and the S-FR finally got ahead, the KTM must have gone off. We caught up to it, but too late.

This is a serious question (well sorta) is there a secret to driving Honda's? I can't seem to find one that doesn't slide all over the place. The closest i've come is the Raybring Gr 2 Honda.

After a horrible day yesterday, even though I really love Monza, I started the day at Dr D sr B, After 3/4 races at interlagos I'm back at Sr s and two point away to Dr B. Might try a last race after the match to see if I can finally get to Dr B for the first time... Fingers crossed!

Today I feel kinda bad, it wasn't clever, don't be what you hate and all that but moving forward I will stand my ground a bit more, no more moving aside when an idiot is in town.

Did you at least report him ? Watch it when you report when you are behaving dirty yourself. You can shoot yourself in the leg there.

I'll report in again to the topic later in the evening with how things go at Brazil, I have the confidence to know I can improve, I just have to hope the race conditions allow a good result, I am going to work purely on the SR and then can look at positions again later.

Agree. I remember those dailys, they were just brilliant. Also in the lobbies we had some great off-road races with the Raptor. Just brilliant !

This is a serious question (well sorta) is there a secret to driving Honda's? I can't seem to find one that doesn't slide all over the place. The closest i've come is the Raybring Gr 2 Honda.

For me, depends on the track. With the Gr. 4 doing tyre wear races, I use TCS 1. Like today's at Interlagos. Brake bias at 0. Race B, I go TCS 0.

I brake in a straightline with slight release of the trigger just before turning. The car has awesomec off throttle tuck in, right as you slowing up. Brake too late and turn too late, it understeers and slides. It's quick off corners, using its MR characteristics of turning and grip.

The Gr. 3 is hit and miss. Monza, it's fast everywhere. Nurb GP, if I'm not careful, the rear steps out on TCS 1. TCS 3 almost gives me that M6 on/off throttle squirm, as in: the TCS interrupts power delivery too much.
Still, the Gr. 3 is quick too.

The road car is awd. If you want, try the N400 race with one. Just to lock in how to rotate the car. When you "feel" the middle of the car helping you thru the turn, it'll translate to the 2wd NSXs.

All three cars, I had to practice and learn each car's nuances.

I like these races as I get to show off the liveries I've made for some of the cars, even if it costs me DR haha.
Tuning is a bonus for me.

I've been having quite a bit of fun with the one-make Scirocco Gr.4 races that I've been seeing as of late. I also had some questions about N-Series races now that we're seeing more of them:

-I know that there's a BoP for each N-Series, but how are they balanced if they allow you to tune cars outside an N-Class to conform to that class? For example, N300 and N500 cars being in today's Race B - how are they balanced? Is it like, all the cars have their power/weight adjusted somewhere between 350 and 449 BHP? It just seems a bit chaotic when it's not merely limited to stock N400 cars, like the M4 or the Vantage. I think one can see the BoP for the N-series if you turn it on in a lobby, as well. Maybe with more N-series races appearing in the Daily Races, we'll see a BoP update for some of the N-series classes next time, too?

-Would that option - of having an N-series race be limited to cars that come with that sort of BHP - be a good idea? BoP would still be applied, given that some cars can radically differ, especially in N300 with the X-Bow.

How did it go ?

Well here finally is my report, sorry it's been so long waiting..

It's been an intense set of hours since I left work and I followed the advice in the thread earlier and didn't qualify today and started from the back each time.

I did 8 races at Interlagos and the end result is DR 5531 (Rank C) and SR is back up to 70 points. 👍

So happy inside myself right now I can't really find the words to describe the overall satisfaction I had tonight.

Thank you all for your advice! I feel so much better right now because of your support so online racing will continue!

Dirty, dirty, dirty and did I mention DIRTY? drivers in Daily race A today.

Not to mention a certain nationality that won't be named, but starts with B and ends with L and all their crappy connections. Constantly glitching all over the screen and hitting me, but wait, I get the 4 sec penalty!

Happened to me while I was 5th, lap 2, the car was all over the road, his connection was a red 1 bar, I try to pass, he slams into me from the side and I'm hit with a 4 second penalty. There is nowhere to run this penalty off on this track, so basically I'm screwed. I recover and on the final turn, another one does the same thing, except he hits me so hard I go flying into the pit!!!
