Thanks, so are you essentially adjusting the Brake Balance throughout the lap?
Yes and no. At the start, I was just setting the balance to either -2 or -1 (front bias), and just leaving it.

My last race last night, I started playing around with dynamic bias adjustments mid race. I was using -1 for T1, and -2 for everywhere else. With this car on this track, I wasn’t noticing too much difference, as there’s really only 3 braking zones on the track, and they’re all very similar, with the exception being the slightly wider entry to T1. But it’s not like a circuit where you have a mix of fast sweepers that need a dab of brakes (usually 50/50 ish bias) and very heavy braking zones (closer to 55/45 bias).

In fast cars, Tsukuba is great for practicing dynamic adjustments, as you can just front heavy for the 3 hairpins, then move it back slightly to trail brake into the long sweeper at the end of the lap.

Another note about the S660, there’s lots of time to find in the final sweeper. Hold Stump, never lift. Pitch the car in aggressively on turn-in, but try to do it without needing a lift, and hold a late apex line. I see so many people lifting and under steering through this corner, and it kills their speed onto the straight, making them sitting ducks into T1.

I lap in the 15s in race A with a half lift in the last corner, taking it at 74/75mph, since with a slightly tighter line you can accelerate earlier and the car is so down on power that it won't really gain any speed until you have the wheels straight. BB stays at -2 too, I don't really see the point changing it mid lap. It's not exactly formula 1

15's?

That's moving along, damn. i can pull a high 16' but that's it i am tapped out but driving AUTO :)

I am with the inri, i think a small lift is slightly faster as you get the wheels straight faster.

My first race went well, I was on pole with a 1:16.2 and managed to match it during the race finishing with a 24-25 second gap. :)

Is there an area where I can view my poles/win rates for future reference?

I probably just became someone's nemesis #1 after an incident at the back straight at Tsukuba. I kept moving across the track to the right to block an overtake, aiming to be at the very inside when the kerb begins, and the driver behind decided to cut even more to the inside and drove right into the pit road marker which looks like plastic. Well, it behaves like concrete. 120-0 km/h in an instant.

Haven't turned on GTS in 3 days, hot lapped a bit few times in this heat. This weekly stuff is mega ultra boring, especially since it's basically one-makes in B and C..
Day 3 for me, also.

Lifting is only necessary if you miss the turn in. If you pitch the car in aggressively, you can use the body roll and weight transfer to get the necessary grip with the outside wheels.

If you don’t lift, but you’re under steering and plowing through the corner, that’s not the way to do it. If you get the turn-in right, and then get the weight to settle, you can diamond off the corner, and get a really straight run through the exit, not even using the exit curb. With a pitch and catch technique, you can get majority of the rotation done in the first split seconds of taking the corner, turning the second half of the corner into a curved straight.

Good explanation. This technique is essential for maximizing speed on the straights.

You mean a bit like this... somebody lost their had in a very bad way yesterday and was waiting for cars from early on lap 1 to ram people off track, push onto grass and be an absolute tool... (I'm the black car btw... I now know the pit entry sign is not Styrofoam at Tsukuba)

I have an awesome video of it too...

Welcome to sport mode!

Here are you poles/win rates

And all your other stats

Good luck! After 5 races you'll be out of DR.E and get to climb the DR ladder.

Thanks, both links say I've participated in 2 races which isn't right. :s

It seems like it's counting some time I spent in a drift lobby a couple of days ago at Suzuka East in the stats.

I reached my limit with GTS 3 days ago which sucks I really want to race but the events are well past their use by dates and I cant be bothered. Really hope we go back to daily races

I've done almost all my miles this week (after finishing Sarthe Circuit Experience) in qualifying laps for Race A. I'm shaving a noticeable bit per day off my average lap time. And gaining track confidence.

Only race 1 or 2 a day. Matchmaking must be working well. I start 10th finish 10th, start 2nd finish 2nd, etc.... It's fun. Very clean. Low risk of losing or gaining points.

The weekly format isn't as exciting as the the old daily format but it does make me focus on details more.

I thought it was odd that it said you started 21st. There's max 20 in sport races and Suzuka East is only used for the daily A with max 12. As everything else it's buggy.

I have only raced Daily C so far, had a day off, so coming back on the 4th day, still in the Toyota FT1, I was starting 5th for most of my races rather than 2nd and the races were close and exciting. With the battles I was having I couldn't get near 1st, but finished on the podium 2/3 races. As I had guessed earlier in the week, the longer run dailies provide better racing as the week progresses as drivers get used to the track.

My first race of the night was a mix of A and B DR Drivers, (with 2 S's, me being one of them) and I fell off the track on lap 1 so ended up last. I fought back to a 6th place finish. When I had the same thing happen to me at the start of the week, I managed to get back on to 2nd place with what was ranked as a stronger room (more A+/S drivers). Along with the rest of the night having closer battles up front with more cars and generally better racing.

So from my perspective, this is much better racing than what I have experienced with the dailies over the past 6 months. This to me is a good first impression of the change to the weekly cycle. But will wait and see if it holds up over the coming weeks/months.

I'm having the opposite experience. Mind you I'm still starting at the back and the back is getting dirtier by the day. Every race people are bumping. I'm around 90 SR now so going from the fast SR.S room to the slow SR.S room and back. I have been punted off a couple times, get bump passed every race, irresponsible dives are getting more frequent.

Maybe people are getting used to the penalty system not giving a crap anymore (most of the time). Penalties are still given out (and still to the wrong car now and then) yet I have been bumped off track many times without the other car receiving a penalty. SR is still deducted to both cars regardless so driving in the back is very dangerous now.

So from my perspective, it's a worse experience than before. Perhaps it's better for the top and it has probably more to do with the changes in the penalty system than the track being on all week. I've been driving the Ferrari, Corvette and RC F GT3 today and get bumped in all of them. 91 SR currently, one more race before I give up.

Finally! Clean race bonus, started 16th, finished 6th. It still was not a clean race, yet I managed to let the divers through without touching me and the punter took out the car I was having an awesome close clean battle with :banghead: Lots of complaining at the end of the race about the mid field, yeah SR.S is dirty. Back to 99 SR, quickly quit, enough of this.

Interestingly my DR has stabilized for the first time in a long time. Without qualifying my DR for Saint Croix is just over 36K. My avg finish position crept up to 8, while still gaining a bit of DR over all, so I guess that means that the avg DR of the SR.S rooms is slightly increasing.

The Ferrari was most fun to drive yet gets very slippery in lap 3. Corvette needs too much fuel saving in AT while the RC F is nice and stable and a bit boring. And every race was won by the Ford.

Quite a carbon copy, with the exception that in my case the other car was behind. I knew the situation beforehand (having driven into it myself some time ago) but apparently my opponent didn't. Literally a crash course on the subject right there.
