Which car were you using out of interest?
I used to be a fan of this track for running hot laps, but got really sick of racing folks through that chicane.

That is where you judge the risks, from my experience most racers power in and then wait for the cries immediately afterwards
when they get the dread penalty for hitting the wall/shortcut.
If a car is side by side it's far easier to hit the brake and pick up the pieces afterwards when they goof up.
Started with the Veyron. 6th gear through the bus stop with your eyes closed - how I missed the adrenaline! !Which car were you using out of interest?
Kie25 is mostly racing against A+ or S drivers, so he won't lose any DR finishing in the midfield. If you're up against A, B, C and D divers, you have to be first or second to gain, otherwise you drop points.I was mostly talking about 'playing the game properly' with regards to DR, not SR. I admit that I was kind of giving myself the benefit of the doubt by saying that finishing as low as 8th is okay, since only finishing in the top 5 is what constitutes a positive DR accrual. What you say about SR I can't answer unfortunately, as there has been races where I've achieved a star for clean racing yet have seen my SR letter in red come the post-race menu. Their system is either damaged or they haven't given us the full story of how SR is gauged..
Fair point. Divebombs are indeed not dirty moves if done correctly. Look at Ricciardo, arguably the poster boy of excellent divebombs. The problem I see though is that in Sport mode, divebombs are often done incorrectly and only reach an overlap once turn-in is achieved, which is beyond the entry of the corner. Perhaps I was too general with my earlier statement
I can say though that regardless of whether contact is made or not, he only got an overlap once they started turning in
Exactly this. I rarely resort to divebombing because of this. I only go for it when i know the driver in front of me knows what he is doing and when i think i can do it while still making the apex on the inside.Problem is, for a divebomb to work the guy being overtaken has to give space as well. It takes two to tango, and if he just closes the door you both will lose time.

Perfect example of me pulling a divebomb and the guy in front reacting exactly how he should.

Fully agree with youProblem is, for a divebomb to work the guy being overtaken has to give space as well. It takes two to tango, and if he just closes the door you both will lose time
I'd argue that the point in which overlap was achieved was different as well. If you compare the two videos, the cockpit view replay guy was only able to achieve overlap when the Ford GT in front of him was already turning in. Shottah's divebomb was much more clinical and achieved overlap when they're still under braking. This gives the other driver enough time to realize that there's something going on his side and react, which is to give space and cutbackLap 2 turn 4 is nearly identical to the previous divebomb except the GT driver had the good sense to wait for it and do a cutback.
Part of me thinks that in these situations its 50/50, not always, but divebombs are always going to happen but there was nowt wrong with your divebomb because the other driver was aware.
Thats why it takes 2 to tango. It would probably have ended in drama if he didnt react accordingly. So good driving from him and a bit of a dick move from me this time. We were battling a couple races though and he was A+ and driving clean and fast so i knew i could race him a little harder then normal.Lap 2 turn 4 is nearly identical to the previous divebomb except the GT driver had the good sense to wait for it and do a cutback.

Whilst perusing youtube this morning I stumbled across the following video, scumbag! What did I get a penalty for?? Some choice quotes
(This is not me. It is an old video)
Fully agree with you

But i agree on divebombing. Most of the time its likely to go wrong because you have to make it stick and trust the car in front to see it coming and not mess up as well. Its always a high risk move. And we all have been on the receiving end as well.

You call that a dive bomb. I call that a good pass.
Haha it was a divebomb for me because even though i was close there was little to no overlap before braking and i just pulled allong under braking. My rule of thumb is that when there is no overlap i dont go for a move on the inside. This one was on the limit for me, if i were just a little more behind i'd probably just pulled back behind him.You call that a dive bomb. I call that a good pass.
...and some asshat punts me offtrack because apparently it would hurt his ego to lose a battle for the 9th place against a girl.
Idiot.
What's the race A car this week?

Is anyone as disappointed in the 250 as I am?
The only thing it has is looks in spades and a nice interior. The sound is not great, neither is the handling and driving it is not much of an experience.
Maybe Brands isn't the right track for it.
On the up side, at least we don't have to pay to find out what we think!
For the record I was expecting something a little more like the XJ13, the only other 20m car I have driven.
I paid 20 million for that car and now everyone gets to drive it?And I probably still won't drive it as Bathurst > Brands! (I likely will as a diversion or after a disconnect)
That's what I do.
Currently in the 37.4, I think it's not so bad using only 2 gears lol
EDIT: Here is my lap (green in 3rd and red in 4th)
