The weird part is i have narrowed it down to the natural frequency that gives 9mph extra top speed lol

219mph with min downforce

Tried the LM55 at Le Mans last night. Still one of my favorites in Group 1. Tried the Audi VGT just now. Only finished one place behind where I started but I'm not digging the car. The top end speed and fuel economy are poor compared to what I can get out of the LM55, though I like the low end acceleration and handling. Maybe next I'll give the 787B a spin. Any of the Group Cs will certainly stand a chance on the straights. I'm going to attempt to avoid calling 919. I might also try running the Tomahawk just out of curiosity.
 
The amount of penalties I have incurred at La Sarthe has been enough to cost me a few victories with the 919. I managed a few podiums, but the track limits irritate me to hell and back. As close as some of the races at La Sarthe get for first place, I haven't really enjoyed racing there but don't get me wrong I like driving a Gr. 1 online with some sort of BOP, it's all just a mess though. Here's hoping PD do something to sort out this mess in the near future.
 
@MINKIHL is your man for the sheep setup this week. Don't forget to thank him for the rad setup

I found the track limits a bit more forgiving.

It's actually been the most lenient it's ever been. How do you get track penalties there?

The track limits are certainly more lenient than they used to be. Yeah, it's still possible to get a penalty but the track limits are much less strict and the penalties less harsh.

Basically you touch the rumble strip at Tetre Rouge with the outer wall of your tires and a penalty ensues. Mine ranged from 1.5 to 3 seconds for this issue.

EDIT: Forgot to add, I see some drivers ahead of me get penalties for "cutting" the first Mulsanne chicane, when they're simply following racing line.
 
The penalties do seem better on La Sarthe thank heavens, I did 5 qualifying laps yesterday in the Audi and didn't get a single penalty which for me, is quite remarkable :D

Do you have a video? I'm genuinely curuous because I wash wide at Tetre Rouge every time (not possible last time) and cut the Mulsanne chicanes really hard (not possible last time)

I should really push myself really hard to get one of these elusive penalties at La Sarthe
 
Track limits are actually way too lenient now. You can go 4 wheels off track at times without any penalty. Only corner they apparently forgot is Indianapolis, you go 1 wheel off track, you get a penalty.
Racing is really a mixed bag. Its actually quite close for most of the track, which is nice. But a lot of people cant handle the GR.1 cars in traffic, so 1st lap is usually carnage. If you can stay on track and avoid the incidents in the beginning, its actually quite nice to race.

I'll have to remind myself to record my next few attempts at La Sarthe. The first 3 races I did I could recreate the issue, but I managed to iron it out a bit. If I see any stupid penalties along the way, I'll try to show them here.
EDIT: These penalties occurred on the inside of Tetre Rouge

Yeah, I have gotten penalties from going too outside there I think.
 
Report of my Monday racing at Race C Circuit De La Sarthe with all races being start from last place.

First race was at 9pm UK time using the stock GT-R LM Nismo 2015 and learnt why a tune is essential
for this car due to it's horsepower and inability to turn quickly at high speed and not forgetting it's impressive tyre wear on
the front tires. :)

Race begin and some chaos in the opening auto drive through the chicanes but scraped through and carried on with the race
but incurred a penalty at the Porsche corner of Lap 2 due to hitting another car lightly and ended up off track so had
to serve that and then went for fuel and numbnuts that I am I forgot to change tires. :banghead:

So I finished last with no front tyres left. Oops! :banghead:

Race 2 was immedately after the first but this time I tuned the Nismo GT-R after a quick search on the forum for a tune
and was able to drive it, incurred one heavy penalty for a collision again on Lap 2 but called the fuel stop wrong as
went for fuel on Lap 3 but everyone else had gone Lap 2 so I finished in 10th place.

Took a short break then back for 10:30 pm race but this time with my favourite Porsche 919 with a new Amy Rose
livery and in the stock car I finished in 13th place.

Final full race was the 11pm race in which I again finished 10th place but could have been a higher result but called
my fuel strategy wrong again going on Lap 3 when everyone else went on Lap 2.

Started the 23:30 race but I was too tired so I quit before it finished.

Next session will be from 6pm tonight so today's plan is the Grp C class cars.

I should add that this week DR/SR loss will not phase me as this is a week I am just
going to race and see how I do. đź‘Ť

I did 4 races there yesterday, and every driver in all 4 races finished with the red penalty dot, including the guys from the top 10 that were there!

Yeah my only race so far had everyone get a penalty except for me :lol:
 
This made me laugh. I'm the mustang. I think he thought it was me that spun him previous corner but it wasnt. Blatant out the race shove, bye bye SR :banghead:

Shame about that. 3 more and you would have had the achievement bonus. I'm surprised to see such a plain livery for you. I think that red is the one I use for my wheels, and the first pic has my race number :lol:.
 
Did 6 or 7 races in race c last night from 7pm to around 11:30pm est. The lobbies were great, tons of A/S and S/S drivers so I gained quite a bit of DR. Didn't win any races but the racing was intense.

2:23.5 is the best I can do in the Toyota TS050 atm without butchering the track. I wan't to get another LMP1 when I get the credits but I'm not sure if I should get the R18 or 919. They both seem to have a top speed advantage compared to the Toyota but not as good on fuel, the Toyota also has a lot of grunt out of slow/medium speed corners when the battery kicks in.

Take the R18 over the 919. MINIKHL has an amazing tune for the former and has set a 3:18 in it. For comparison my 919 with praiano's tune before the tire update can only muster a 3:21
 
I bought the Jag, tarted it up, threw it on "the French track", did a few laps, tried to enter with 3s left, and was rejected :(. So I decided to do Race B instead with the love bug. I entered without putting in masses of lap time, did a time over 2mins so I knew it wasn't going to be a great position. Looking at the right hand side of the list where I expected to be. I was on the other side, sitting in the danger zone on P9. Mixed grid of DR/C and D so I was in the right place for me, because I reckon myself being somewhere near the top of DR/D. Good mix of cars.

Race gets underway. I take the inside and while I'm braking a Viper dashes up even more inside. That's fine, and I slot in behind, only to have two cars push me on to the grass and back to P12 while I spin my wheels. So much for a clean race bonus :rolleyes:. The race progresses and I'm kinda surprised how many people were coming unstuck. Next lap and I get pushed wide on the second corner after the T1/2 and off the tarmac. Still no penalties and no orange SRs, but since there has been a few contacts, I'm expecting a red or neutral SR.

I was trying very hard not to make contact, but I was right on the bumper of a few cars and had a feeling that even thought I didn't hear anything, I might have touched. It's really hard to tell while I'm racing because I am hangin on for dear life :scared:! I did have some close racing with a Japanese driver where we were side by side a few times entering corners and swapped positions a few times. In the end he got ahead and stayed ahead. He had a penalty, but sadly it was 1s and I was 2s behind across the line. Fair enough. The finish was a big surprise:

There's something about seeing that 13 next to the skull and crossed katana on a matte black body that brings a tear to my eye. It's a thing of beauty :drool:. But I digress. What I don't get is why I got a clean race bonus. I was pushed off the track twice :confused:.

Anyway, SR went up to 99, DR up about 400. I call that a result!
 
Just finished my race at Maquis de Sade. Man what a roller coaster! I started P10/17 on a mixed grid with 4 x DR/A, 4 x B, 7 x C and the rest D.

The race starts, autodrive being the sadist that it is dumps me at the chicane before the start. I was still in P10 at the first chicane, but messed up my braking point and the chicane, dropped back to P15 as I rounded the corner onto Mulsanne. At my level, I think the group C cars are still somewhat competitive. The Jag is a missile. By the end of Mulsanne I was P11. I crossed the line for lap 1 in P9. I got lucky that no one tried to block me on the straits :dopey:.

Was doing well maintaining P9.. till I hit Indianapolis. I'd just passed someone into P8 and came in too hot, couldn't get it to turn in in time and ended up in the sand and nearly spun out. I got to Arnage in P11 with a nice little tail flick. Caught up to the two in front at Porsche. For some reason I was finding aside from the straits, I seemed to be faster than most in my race through the Porsche curves. I passed P10 on the final chicane. Probably shouldn't have. There was some light side by side contact and he got a bit wobbly, but my car prevented him from spinning :eek:.
Watching the replay he was wobbly all the way to Mulsanne :odd:! Traction control maybe?

Second chicane on Mulsanne and I over cooked it. Ended up in the sand and down to P11. I wanted P9 back! :mad: Passed P10 just before pitting. They were ghosted on the outside and cut in behind me. My guess is they ran out of juice. I exited the pits in P11.

Was in P10 by the end of Mulsanne and catching the guy I made contact with back at the end of lap 2. Started passing him heading to the second chicane on Mulsanne but too far on the outside and too close to the braking point. Over cooked it and onto the sand on the entry near the blocks. Down to P11 :crazy:. The guy who had been behind me also passed P9... then proceeded to spin out at the end of Mulsanne :scared:. I passed P9 just before Porsche and the race timed out just as I reached the last chicane. P9 with *my* number (13) !!!! <happy dance>

SR maintained at 99. Was expecting DR to drop by 50-100. Went up by 425 :eek:. Considering how crap I drove, I call that a result! The Jag could do much better in more capable hands. Another day above DR 1 :D.

Been using the R18 '16 and using MINKIHL's tune he is currently 3rd in the top 10 using it but I could only get down to a 3:26.252. Just after some tips on how to go fast here the new track limits are a bit too relaxed on some parts tight on others, I think my main issue is carrying speed onto the long straight. How do you guys take that bend?? [The one onto the main straight]
