Does GTS simulate the different altitudes of the various tracks and the air density at each location? If yes, the turbo cars should have an advantage over anything NA. If not, it won’t matter. You’re right though, the long straights will favour the power cars, although breaking is just as key on that circuit in a race.
Judging from my week's Race B, the awd cars aren't too flash. I'm not thinking about aspiration.
It's almost akin to the Blue Moon Bay track. Even though the Huracan is pretty quick, the really fast cars, in my opinion, like the flowing nature of tracks.

T2 would appear to be the best corner for an awd advantage. We'll see, loving this version in GTS.

It's no different than before, except now it tells you when SR points are deducted. Actually it's back to the way it was before penalties were introduced. PD had only turned the notifications off, the deductions never changed.

It's interesting that it now shows the penalty time each car is carrying. Of course it remains to be seen how accurate that is and if they fixed communication of penalties between consoles. Has anyone seen a car with a supposed penalty finish without a red dot since the update?

I only did 2 sport races today, a record low for me. Looking at almost 8 million to gather for the 20 mil race car I switched to GT league for a bit of 'fun'. Doing 2:12 laps on Sarthe in the SRT Tomahawk was fun, ignoring half the track along the way and lapping every car twice. Same on the N24 although there I did stay on the track, sort of. 560+ kph, that's a respectable speed. GR.3 Suzuka, you're slow.

Red bull ring is ok'ish, short track, repetitive sharp corners, yet looks pretty. And a nice reminder of how crap the AI is, braking mid corner, suddenly increasing pace when you get near or pass. After a couple other races, less than 7 million to go. GT League at least makes a dent.

Ok, Sven, maybe because we see it now, it gives the impression that it's more sensitive. Must say, i like the way the car show their penalty time. 4 What i've experienced till now, it looks pretty accurate.

This is from last week, but I hadn't uploaded it yet, this was my most exciting race last week in Race B on Lago Maggiore in the Porsche 911 RSR.
I won, but not easily, the other Porsche was very very close behind the whole race, even overtook me for a little while but I had a better exit at the (curved) hairpin and retook my P1, also I almost lost at the finish, but I won barely, with only a 0,044second gap

Clean race also :) only didn't get the fastest lap.
But I was the only one with DR/SR B/S, The rest was C/S or D/S
I'm only at like 11k points DR, so just barely B.

It's great how so many european players don't want to try out different cars for the Suzuka daily race event...

One of the reasons I stopped racing in sport mode...
There's only sheep left and rowdies from south europe.

...3 Disconnections in a row now @DTG!

Me too! Everytime I tried to click on a certain livery it crashed. And one time I wanted to do the circuit experience. Pretty annoying that this is still a thing in GTS :irked:

4th Time was ok. But i did some qualy laps during countdown, maybe it made a difference, don't know. Luckily no dr/sr lost.

The impatients at Gardens is ridiculous, people (usually in those infuriating Megane's) trying to pass through essess or the right handers, ridiculous.
I've given up on the Gardens and headed off to Suzuka - drivers seem to be a little more patient there !!

For my races I noticed that time penalties for orange SRs were gone. I saw a couple of orange SR but not time penalty along with them.

Which 20 mil car? I discovered I already had one as a gift from the game.

Yep, now you know not to draft a car with 0.4 sec penalty at the finish as he won't ghost long enough and you'll likely punt him as he gets rid of the rest of his penalty. PD should of course stop serving penalties in the last lap, but at least this should prevent a few accidents.

I did one race at DT Gardens, got braked checked, punted, and finished last. Looks like I'm going back to Suzuka.

Go to the last lap, one heck of a move and the mug tried to run me off the road!

Savages.

Then again I get to the front here on the last lap and get punted yet again, though TBH i was messy all race but still the Megane was just all over the road. That left turn, you HAVE to enter slow and gas it hard or you lose scads of time but keep getting rear ended there.

Savages.

After getting used to road rage on EU region, I gotta say, US one is a breeze to drive on.
Sure, small stuff here and there, but nothing like my experience in EU..

Edit: I take that back partially. Brazilians.

Every day the QT at Race A goes down a full second.

I hate all of you. :sly:
I think the fastest guys are all using manual transmissions. The car is slow as hell when the AT upshifts too soon.

South Americans are iffy at best, more often than not they will bump you off.

Yep, got bumped off twice. One even tried to take me out on the finish straight of Suzuka, but ghosted right thru me lol.

Lol I was going to say the same....Europe apparently has hot headed Southern Europeans, we have hot headed South Americans (the Argentinians tend to be as bad as the Brazilians).

I’ve definitely had some good races against South Americans, but more often than not, they tend to be extremely aggressive, and aren’t shy about being dirty (sound like any South American drivers you’ve heard of from the past?).

They’re not doing their country as a whole any favours, as the general tone in online lobbies and sport mode is that the South Americans are dirty races, and unfortunately the good ones are being lumped in with the bad ones. These aren’t just my personal opinions, every day I race online, I see at least a dozen comments of people talking smack about the South Americans - and after watching replays (I save almost every race I do), the smack talk is usually warranted.

It's the society they live in, dog eat dog. You'd learn pretty fast to get your elbows out.

Not a bad peak. That's pretty damn good.

Can't believe the alien times - into the 2:08s now

I think I'd struggle to get past 2:11 unless I switched to manual transmission. The big bend after the esses for instance, I'm braking there while the aliens are just downshifting, not touching the brake at all. I really don't want to fundamentally change how I play the game for the sake of two and a half more days' worth of playing, so I'll stick with where I am.

Don't see how you can complain about being punted after what you did to the Megane at the end of lap 2 on the final double left hander.

They got payback on lap 5.

Live by the sword.................'n all that.

Nope, i let him pass on the following straight, pretty clearly too as i did not cop a penalty so he knew i let him by.

Technically, it's West Europeans :D

I have been lucky as the first fast turn sort some people out before coming to the essess after start. I was starting 5th and 3 people in front of my knocked themselves out of the way and I as 2nd after exiting the esses... Then I run wide later on and ended up last ... Frustrating when I was so lucky
...When its a clean race, Gardens is a lot of fun.

@Arcflyer Suzuka is not better in my mind as the first turn is very hard if you don't know what you are doing. In the start I normally position myself to the right and hug right side as much as possible as I gain some positions from people running wide to the left :-)

Is anyone having problems with connecting to daily races? I've just been at the loading screen for three straight and not made it to race in any of them.

...3 Disconnections in a row now @DTG!

Happened to me 3 times today and a few times yesterday, all at Dragon Trail. To add insult to injury, I was on pole position for the 3 boots today. (That doesn't happen to me very often. ...the pole position I mean).

Also kept crashing when trying to look at certain scapes photos in "Discover" mode.

Getting better at Gardens got my time down into the 39s. Had a few good races in a row with a second place and clean races. Then my final race was just awful in the end I think I had hit everyone at some point so dropped to the back of the field to lap on my own. Decided it's bed time at that point.

No more sport mode for me...
Today, 3 race at Suzuka and in every race,I found the stupid guy that hit me at the first corner or at the chicane before the principal straight.... C'mon!
I lost 1300 DR but fortunately I'm in A S,but sincerely,in this way isn't fair and I'm not fun with this.
I don't like to race in this way
