I haven't touched sport mode for a full month, only turning on the PS4 for mileage exchange items. Tonight, decide to finally get back into Sport mode with Dragon Trail Gardens. Wow, I don't even know if it was a mistake to set a qualifying time. It took me a few hours to get my PB, and despite the lack of consistency to be in the 1:41, I have not seen my SR drop like this. My final 3 races were just focused on getting my SR back up to 99. DR was dropped from 68xx straight down to 51xx. I'm not expecting to stay in C/S rating for much longer at this rate.

If what the others are saying is true, as a victim of getting bumped in the side renders you to lose SR, this must've been what I'm seeing tonight. This is absolutely horrible. Some races I genuinely thought was I going too hard for the smallest gap, but some instances, when someone was rejoining the track and lightly tapped me, I got a orange SR for that. What the hell?

Quick Other note: I find it mildly annoying that people think the Amuse Honda S2000 GT1 is a drift car? This car actually has a good story behind it, being the founder of Amuse - the late Tanabe san's - final project car. It was supposed to be the ultimate vision of a S2000 from him, the fastest Grip S2000 possible. With a turbo F20C engine, which Gran Turismo has faithfully recreated. Although when the wide body was presented (back in 2012/2013), the car had a N/A engine instead as the engine was not ready. I'm really happy to see this car, although I find it more comfortable to drive as a N400 car, than it being a N600 car. The brakes would've needed to be upgraded according to today's standard. /end-note

This was my experience all night and it's because of the change in penalties for side swiping, people charge in and use the side of your car as a brake and get a very minor or no penalty, they need to go back to how it was, gardens was a fiasco last night.

It hasn't changed this morning either. So many side rubs and rear ends only for the perp to get no penalties, yet the victim does with either time penalties or orange SR. It's ridiculous at the moment!

I qualified with a 1.39.4 and that's all i had, i can't go faster so in race trim I am often top 3 but vulnerable as i am a slow in-fast out driver and the track is conducive to this. The chicane is just chronic, people nerfing it up the inside EVERY FREAKING LAP, or through the esses, if i am online there is NO ROOM TO PASS HERE.

The previous update dropped most of the penalties and severely reduced the penalty time for the remaining ones. That made people think rubbing and bumping was now fine, hence the steady deterioration of racing standards. However SR deductions still went on behind the scenes and we got a long list of complaints of people of "why do I have a red rating with clean race bonus", or why did I only go up 2 SR in my 'clean' race.

SR is always deducted on contact no matter who hits who. This last update turned the notifications back on (SR down arrow) yet the penalties are still off or very lenient. The SR down arrow was no deterrent before time penalties were introduced at the beginning of the year, why would it be now... It's the real avoidance simulator!

PD changes the notifications and penalty time values on a monthly basis. The underlying fault detection and SR deductions never seem to change. Hit or get hit, SR gets taken. When you get a penalty a lot of SR is taken.

Thanks for replying, this makes me really miss the old penalty system. It drives you to do better and be cleaner. I was rusty and partly aggressive today. But having set qualifying times to an extent didn't help. I wasn't consistent enough to break through the pack into the guys who are into the 1:40s. My more comfortable pace would be at 1:42.

I liked the original penalty system. The only real issue I saw with it was it was possible to get punted in a hard braking zone and penalized. It seemed like everyone on the net complained though so they loosened it up.
They should make it stricter at S as it was in the beginning and take away getting punted off causing sr drop and imo it would be perfect.
I really think a wheel is a huge advantage for staying clean. I still don’t think people have learned yet to drive the track while racing the cars. I’ve seen replays where people fighting for spots midpack sacrifice proper line and then cars get jammed together. I don’t do that. Often if you focus on line you will get by through getting good exits and staying patient. IMO it’s not wise to go wheel to wheel until after following for a lap or so to get a sense of what kind of driver you are dealing with. I don’t make moves on erratic drivers.
Earlier this week my race at Gardens was high quality. I’m away from my system right now so no play for a week.
I miss you gt sport and I look forward to broadening my gaming with ace combat.

Not to be disrespectful as you have a nice setup, but wouldn't it be more realistic to have a grandstand or something like you would actually see while racing out your window than two guys standing there talking? It just seems to ruin the realism you are trying to achieve. Maybe you could have it switch to that image as you pit.

Just won a Yamagiwa race by .016

Last lap, we're side by side going into the chicane. I get blocked and forced to cut the grass on the right hand side, but I don't get a penalty. I get used for brakes into the hairpin which is a 3.4 second penalty for the other guy. By the time we're on the pit straight he's got it down to 0.5 and as he ghosts that off I start closing, he moves across to block me and I sell him a dummy to the right, he bites badly and I carry on straight and beat him. I was a tenth behind him at the last timing difference check before the line.

That was a satisfying one.

I also tried one race at Suzuka and started dead last as I qualified 1.04 but advanced 7 positions to end 11th. I still got 200 points deducted ... I assume as it says 11 on the car, the expectation is that I should do better than that to get points.

That section is the hardest thing todo since I only do livestreaming ( not editing recorded video )

This penalty system is so broken. In race B, I start 4th, 5th place tries to nudge in to the inside of T1 on lap 1, hits my rear quarter, I get an orange SR. At the hairpin I brake at the 100 board, get hit in the back; orange SR. At the end of the race, I have a red SR, the two that hit me....blue. For the rest of the race, I was clear of all traffic and didn't run off track. Why do I get penalised? I lost 11 SR points!!!!!

when you get to the categories B A A + and S, all the aids automatically should be off ... I'll explain better ...
Up to category C, the player can use at his choice, all the aids he wants, but as soon as he arrives at category B and then at the high categories , the game automatically begins to disable the aids gradually, up to the S category, without any help for driving....you can use only ABS and TCS , but with the maximum setting at 1
I say this because, I'm in category A S, and looking at the replays, I find it absurd, and unfair, to see other players, use driving aids.

It's absurd to race against driver's that using this "tricks"...isn't fair imho
For the ABS and TCS at 1 i'm with you,regarding all to others aids,absolutely not.
Regarding the aids,anyway i use only ABS and TCS at 1 but only on some Gr.1 cars or some Gr.3 cars

They race for ranking points, not for sportmanship or having fun. These type of people will check their stats every minute and getting obsessed of getting 75k

This is my thought

World's best drivers in GT3 use either ABS, TC or both. It's about track safety, not just speed.
FIA cares more about keeping the drivers alive than squeezing 5-10km/h extra.
It's allowed in GT3 racing and many if not all will use one or either for track safety.

It's one thing hotlapping a real car, but completely other when there are other lives at stake around that car.
Good number of fast drivers irl don't know **** about cars, engines and mechanics, but race very well. They don't have to worry about it when there's a whole team for that. This is something you'll hear from team mechanics and engineers.

So yeah, this game is far from reality and some cars handle too easy even without ABS and TC, but I'd rather have a driver behind me having ABS and not slide right into my back at every turn than having ice skating fest.

Then that takes away what sport mode is. An accessible mode for everyone. You take a lot more people out of it to benefit yourself.

Thought it would be good to have a thread to duck in and discuss current daily race happenings , experiences , tips etc.

I'm breaking the protocol by discussing yesterday's daily B race but since they go past midnight I suppose it's okay.

I did gr4 Suzuka last night in my TT . Great close racing with mostly S and A DR. All S SR obviously. Until my last race where I lost the pole position on an off -tired I guess - clawed my way back to 4th 2nd place guy screws up on the last chicane (last corner) on last lap, proceeds to run 3rd place off the road , fails to retain the position, I duck under to take advantage, the fool proceeds to try to punt me but fails and I grab second. This guy was A/S , I couldn't understand why someone with that rating would try such a dick move. But then again he was driving a Megane .

I agree with you. Not sure how some of the guys got their rating. As long as you don’t pass you won’t get attacked...yeah by some of the supposed good racers purposely hitting you and driving your rating down.

Somebody help me...I get hit and I get the penalty. I go up 3spots and have a clean race and lose points?

Fair point the. I would agree with A and especially A+. I don't know if you can consistently stay in A+ with aids on.

Fair point the. I would agree with A and especially A+. I don't know if you can consistently stay in A+ with aids on.
