That was my daily work out gift yesterday! I've already defaced it ready for racing... but Race A isn't a garage race :(.
Unfortunately. Would have been epic as a full 20 grid with no pit stop. Anyway, a Race B with 4 extra cars and Garage choice, could have made a nice replay of everyone's liveries.

Trying Race C, no qualy. Starting 18th in the NSX. Must be. Nissan One Make. Jeez.

Edit:
Made the podium

It's like DTM.
Me and the other NSX, were stable in the corners, the GT-Rs were tail happy and those RC Fs are plenty fast.
Got punted off, after making places on the first lap.. So no clean bonus added to my 79k Cr.

Gr. 3 looks boring after doing Race A & C. Gonna be a good week leading up to the Sandown 500.

I don't understand why they won't let us use garage cars for these Race A one-makes. They could just give us an option to borrow one if we don't own it. But lately the cars have been so cheap most anyone could afford one. It's really boring when you have a model with a few color choices or even one color for that matter.

Mini is a laugh, theres a couple of spots in 3rd where it takes ages to pick up after the wheel stop spinning and wondering how to deal with that. Final corner especially.
Shame Gr2 is C. Cars that go flat out except you cant because of fuel and tyres.
Not a bad selection for the week but if B and C were switched it would be great practice for FIA and you could go all out on RBR.

Wrapped up Suzuka week with one more podium and three top five finishes in the Corvette. I'm surprised no one used it considering its consistency in pace is well.
I've mostly used the Corvette this week. Struggled a bit with front tyre wear on the final lap of the stints but it's great on fuel.
Every other car has let me down big time in this race.

I raced Suzuka a lot this past week. I saw people using the Vette here and there though, for the most part, it was Porsches everywhere.

I used the AMG all week. Between Saturday and Sunday I was able to grab 10,000 DR. Not a bad couple of days.

Got a win from qualifying 3rd. The pole sitting NSX crawled at the 2nd light and the 2nd place GT-R spun at the first corner, handing me the lead.
Awesome duel with another GT-R, as we didn't hold each other up and kept it clean. I pitted one lap later and emerged 3 seconds clear. Pulled out to 7 seconds at the flag.

Gotta say, the replays look awesome. Watching a battle pack on screen and in far distance, seeing two other cars whizz across the screen, in their own battle for position, on another part of the track.

I'm afraid I was being terribly optimistic. I thought with a new set of races, maybe something would be refreshed that would allow me to race in sport mode. I was mistaken :banghead:.

The Corvette must drive very differently in AT and MT. I only had 1% left when I enter the pit in the Vette, however I did get bumped off a couple times. My earlier GR.3 test on Mount Panorama only had it beat by the Toyota Supra and VW Beetle for worse fuel consumption.

I wasn't into Suzuka at all last week, only did 2 sport races a day and still managed to almost drop back to DR.B

St. Croix - interlagos - Bathurst - Sarthe - Suzuka

Can we go back to daily races now!

Switched cars every race on St.Croix
Switched cars after a broken clean streak on Interlagos (21 in the AMG!)
Tested all GR.3 cars on Mount Panorma
Tested all GR.1 cars on Sarthe
Cleaned up all the endurance races in GT League last week and got the Mark 4.

I'll see how the new track goes. It was ok in GT League trying to win in an oldie Lambo against N800 crap AI. Only 3 cars to try out and fuel management yet again ugh.

It's back, the nightmare track RED BULL RING .Truly a rammers paradise. I had completely forgotten about this track, did not even realize it when the update downloaded .Only when I started race C did all the bad memories from the GT6 quick match days come back to haunt me.:nervous:

Don't worry you will probably not get to the race anyways, just had two disconnects in a row waiting for the matchmaking screen to finish. :irked:
Once is annoying, two in a row is not acceptable. Seems a lot more frequent since that last update... :grumpy:
Edit: Make that 3 in a row tried to do race B while I was waiting for the next C race..:banghead:
Got into a race in the end, I restarted the console seemed to sort it, turns out you were right though got wacked off the track in the 1st braking zone, straight into the wall and down to last. Finished 13 out of 13, every one else was DNF, probably need a bit more SR as am only B and not every driver is very considerate they just don't seem to give a hoot. Grid start and a short run ain't helping a bit more ghosting might be useful...

I think you are right, because I get pretty decent fuel from the 'vette and the Beetle. I find AT really awkward when they have races with cars that are AT only. The gear shifts are not when I would do them and no Hail Mary option when things go wrong.

I just got disconnected mid race. Cant believe it. They need to fix this asap!!!

I tend to use the mid range a lot in the 'Vette. You save a lot of fuel without losing much acceleration. The healthy mid range power also means you can use a higher gear on corner exits for earlier throttle application. This suits my driving style.

2 x Race A this morning. Fun races for the most part.

Had the same group of cars behind me without qualifying times behind me in both races. I guess the plan is farm points off of suckers like me. I wish those those drivers would be more patient though. I don't think they have the right to push through because they think they are faster without logging a QT. Nothing wrong with joining a race without a QT but the other drivers have no way of knowing you're faster without a time on the board.

The key to good gas mileage in the Vette is short shifting. Not only does it save fuel, but also helps with tire wear. The car has good low-end torque and you don't have to rev the engine out to maintain speed. I was shifting around just over halfway rpm.. At Suzuka I usually had between 12-14% left when pitting. I also use MT and I think that's why you're using more fuel.

I want to try RBR, but reading about all the DC's makes me think I might wait and see if tomorrow's maintenance fixes the problems. So frustrating to have to wait another half hour when you are minutes away from starting a race. This happened to me when I last raced about 4 days ago and I shut it off and haven't raced since. I set a 1:23.0 q time for Race C last night but was too tired to race afterward. The runoff areas on the first and last turns are so tricky. You think you have the car pointed straight and give it a little gas and around you go.

I tried race C, I'm back to DR.B.

Actually I'm glad I got bumped off back to dead last in lap 2, it wasn't worth racing.

I have never seen such a bad list of ratings after a daily C race ever. 2xB, 3xA, bunch more red. Most sprint races on Monza aren't this bad.

Thankfully no disconnects for me, but on doing Race B today, I did a slow qualifier and started 11th in a grid of 14. Made up A/S down to C/C. I'm B/B. Then it got weird!

We all make it through the preload/garage screen, and then 3 drop out and I'm suddenly shown as starting 3rd, with the grid all jumbled up. After the warm up laps, I'm now shown as starting 9th.

As we get then enter the race start screen, I'm back to 3rd on the grid. The grid was very, very mixed up; it wasn't even a reversed grid as in lobbies. Never seen that before.

Anyway, I held on to 3rd but came out of the game with a white B, due to 2 cars rub passing me. Both those cars ended up with a Blue rating at the end.

One thing I did notice is that it took almost 5 minutes from the Please Wait....Matching screen to the race beginning.

I hate the red bull ring so bad. To many sweeping corners that just magnifies the lack of grip the new tyre model has.

Those same corners are probably why I like it.

And theres loads of grip in the gr2 cars.
I agree. The track is also wide enough, everywhere, to have decent battles and for players to sometimes go two wide around corners. Felt like real racing in the ones I've done.

Had a look at my replays. I clearly see how cars were going off. Some players were too aggressive in corners. Some hit other players at the start line because cars dyidbnt stay ghosted during the penalty.
T1 fiasco did happen, but I saw something with my off at T3. I was being squeezed to the left side of the track. So, I backed off. The car behind me assumed I would be braking later, as from their view, we weren't near the braking zone.
Turns out, I got hit because I "suddenly" slowed. The player couldn't have seen my brake lights. Heck, I didn't see my brake lights looking at the replay.
With the sun shining from behind and such a small area of brake lenses, it looks impossible to see when the NSX is braking.

No penalties for going wide on the last 2 corners or overshooting the first two hard right's (T1, T3). Looks like penalties are for going too tight but the kerbs are so agressive on the inside theres a time penalty as the car goes in the air. On the last corner especially it should be round the other way, because if you go too tight you hit the barrier anyway.

Am I the only one who is annoyed that a lot of Drivers does not respect the track limits of the RedBull Ring?

No. I was a bit off the pace so I loaded up a Top 10 replay and sure enough, they take turn 1 absolutely ridiculously wide. Why are the track limits like this? Especially in qualifying.

Track limits on the Mini race are ridiculous, I use the kerbs and get penalties over and over again...

Its annoying but you can compensate a little by swinging left a bit before t1 just before cornering if you want to stick to the track.

The other corners im not so sure theres that much to be gained by going wide in gr2. Some but not huge amounts perhaps. Not really explored it.
