Red bull ring day 3, it's a lot cleaner! Perhaps most of the trouble makers have either given up or have been put in SR.A or SR.B. There were still a couple yet it was a night and day difference as opposed to yesterday. The random disconnects might have helped too as I got grids as low as 14 to start the race.

However without getting bumped off the track 3 times per race I'm actually not doing that bad. Last 2 races I finished 4th and 3rd. I'm still not that fast though, only once broke into the 1:24 lap times, only just. Yet I also refuse to cheat at T1 and the last 2 corners. I've seen people go far wide before the final turn to get a fast run and not get a penalty. Are the track limits broken there as well? The few times I messed up there by taking the corner a bit too tight then getting unstable and going wide after, only losing time, I did end up with a penalty. Anyway, a lot more pleasant racing with less bumping. Perhaps a contact free race will still be possible before the end of the week.

Here are the two starts of my last 2 races, how to survive the first couple corners.

And the typical RBR penalty to watch out for at the end.

Just watched your replay. That 'sandwich move' from 8th to 5th in race1 is very nice!
Tbh, i didn't do a race @RBR yet as i'm on a bit of a nice run @nurburgring. I did a qualy of 23.017. Will do some racing there later.
I see there's a new start procedure, curious what that will bring! Grtz.

Starting from the back at red bull ring seems to be the safer option will probably wait until sunday to qualify dr has taken quite a hit the last 2 weeks but honestly who cares im enjoying it a lot more at the moment just seeing how far forward I can get

... IT HAPPENED AGAIN !!! DISCONNECTED @ B !!! EVEN AFTER UPDATE !!!

Nice move threading the needle! 👍 Maybe I missed something, but I'm still not sure why you got the penalty. You were rear ended yeh?

That's the issue with the track limits at RBR. Collision in the corner and then the other car goes off track (even though it was probably the line they were going to take anyway) so Sven is punished. Really needs to be sorted for this turn

P1 today in Race C and had the race in my command. The GTR feels good around that track once I got to terms with it.

I give up. Someone please tell me how to make this Mini go faster than 1:06.9. I've beaten it in races no bother, I've had the pace to do a 1:06.2 (no slipstream), but I must have done at least 50 qualifying laps and I can't get near it.

Drive it casual like ....as if you are chilling on a Sunday drive. J ust make sure you aren't losing grip/speed in the turns. Front wheel cars don't enjoy being powered through corners ...improve lap by lap. Remember slower is faster, you don't want to be hitting top speed and braking - just keeping a higher average speed over the entire track. Hope this helps (turn traction off)

Can confirm still getting disconnected during matchmaking trying to enter race C twice so far today. Even restarted my PS4 after the 1st one made no difference.

Red bull a bit of a mare because of tightness of track - don't race on it unless you have the skill set. You'll hate yourself. Same for St Croix I still can't clean lap it in a group 2

You think so? I find it suits the gr2 cars, it's possible to run 3 wide on the run into t2 and maybe more into t1. I've gained some DR which after the last couple of weeks of crashfests has got me back into wanting to race. It's a blast.

I won't race on it till I've blipped the track...pointless when there is traffic on the track. I wish they would scrap Mount Panorama for example and put Monaco GP back its the worst track ever for racing

You don't always get the line when there are other cars or you miss/ overshoot braking points because of car crash shenanigans in front or from behind etc and then there is the classic 1st corner blues when some moron rear ends you ...not always a clean drive from the get go.

I may have hit my limits on the controller. Time to sort my wheel out.

Yeah rbr can be good with the right people but My sr has just gone from 99 to 66 in 2 races due to people punting me. For some reason I managed to received 4, 3second penalties from being punted into another car with the car that hit me never being given a penalty

Gt2 race last night..9th to 6th to almost last managed to finish 8th in the end. Plus my favourite move from a gt3 lobby same track.

No one is forcing you to race there. In my mind Tokyo is the worst track/s in the game to race on, but I'd never suggest getting rid of any tracks. Some people love Tokyo. New tracks are being added without removing tracks. Bathurst is the *only* reason I bought this game in the first place.

That was me behind Sven. The game expects you to go wide at T1 so if you brake harder than the car behind and it results in a collision, you get a penalty as it’s detected as a brake check. I personally couldn’t believe he got a penalty for it but it shows how you have to race the track with the limits in place even though I also don’t think we should be allowed to go wide at T1.

After that race, I gave up on Race C. Got put in the wall at the start from 2nd (got 5s for getting murdered) and had to overtake slower cars weaving like crazy as I had #1 on my car. I guess they wanted DR points!

After the first lap or so, Group 2 at RBR is quite good. Guys are circulating well below qualifying pace though so don't let that spook you.

I have a real issue with this, i use the D-pad and X button so my style is slow in, fast out to turn lap times. I am relentlessly rear ended.

Have you tried motion sense? Honest I'll never go back to using buttons and stuff.

That's kinda nuts! And going wide if you are in traffic is just inviting someone to try late braking up the inside.

Unless you are properly matched, the door number has no significance. I've had a #2 on my door whilst qualifying 2nd last as a DR/D with DR/As and Bs on the grid!

Well, first race of the night for me. Ring around the rosies with Race B. Last time I raced with the Mec GT3, and for me it wasn't as agreeable as it had been. This time went with the fat porsche (love bug). It felt a bit more controllable with my style. It seems fast, but I think that's mostly because it sounds angry . Qualified P11/15.

The race starts with auto letting go mid corner of the final turn in a gear higher that I would like. That got me off to a slightly slower start, but I think the cars behind me got caught out by being dumped at the corner. Gave me a bit of breathing space behind me and in front. Quietly slipped past the dented shells of combatants participating in the dash for crash at T1.

I had a bit of to and fro with a few cars. The racing was surprisingly clean and I was able to give people the room they needed without getting pushed off. I spent the last 2 laps fending off (read "hanging on for dear life and praying that I make the corner") the guy behind me, who I was often seeing on the edge of my radar. I was expecting him to make a move as soon as I messed up. A couple of times he had the opportunity but didn't take it. Was pretty intense :scared:. Something must have happened because he dropped back by 2s. Crossed P6 with no penalties and a blue SR!

SR stable at 99, DR up by 300 and a bit. Good result! Next race, Race C, where it will all probably fall apart .

I keep geeting booted from Sportsmode Race B.

Anyone else having problems ?

If you get booted once restart your PS4, as it just continues once you get it once. Can still reoccur though I have had 3 disconnection today so far,

I got booted last race lobby I tried to join before I left for work this morning at 8am but as MhtyClipster say it's best to restart
the console.

Hopefully it does not happen too often tonight as I am looking forward to chilling and racing since it's been a crap week at work.

On topic discussion but I'm good with my SR/DR again, back to DR C and SR is back up to 71 points, had some good racing at
Nurburgring.

FIA races were good last night but I am keeping you all in suspense as I'm waiting for video's to finish uploading then I'll provide
links in the FIA thread.

Luckily I have only been booted about half a dozen times since the update but every time was when I was using a livery change. Saved down from the discover section.

Race C and this time I qualified. Was a mixed grid or DR and SR. My qualifying time was only a few seconds slower than the DR/A in pole, so I was happy with that. Qualified P8/15.

That darn standing start with the lights again had me with a penalty, so I was in P15 before my wheels even started turning. I managed to work my way up, but T2 was continuing to give me headaches. I got stuck behind this guy who kept weaving to block and braking unreasonably early, even for me ! This meant that a pack that had been forming behind me was right up amongst us. He also swerved into me a couple of times when he was next to me. In the end he got what he wanted, a tap from behind. While this was happening the car behind me overcooked the corner and started to swing out. He caught it but over corrected and rammed me off at the same time the blocker was finding the sand trap. Using me as a wall kept him on the track. Back to P14 for me :banghead:.

I pitted on lap 8 with unhappy tyres in P7. Sadly I came out of the pits in P10. The guy behind me was closing in, but obviously messed up and I found I had an 8s lead. I just focused on staying on the track and did close the gap ahead by a few seconds, but not enough. So P10 it was. The guy who was giving me the trouble finished P14, and the guy who knocked me off finished P8. He didn't do it deliberately, so no hard feelings :dopey:.

SR maintained at 99, which I wasn't expecting. DR only down by 120. Better than a kick in the head considering effectively starting from the back. Day 5 vacationing in sunny DR/C :scared:.

Hey. Thanks for the sugestion.

Unfortunetly dosent seem to help much.

I can do one Sport mode race, then I will keep getting booted, until I restart PS4. Then the same again.

Tryed like 4 times now, always the same booted every time after I finish the first race :-(

Only done two of the Race Cs but I've taken to them quite well. The Nissan preserves its tyres really well.

On the mini race it says settings are adjustable but all settings are greyed out, not changeable. Do I need to do something first or is it just an error

ok so twice in a row i've been booted from the loading screen of a daily race , WTF is going on?

Personally I much prefer the grid start. The rolling starts often have you at some stupid place on the track, like the chicane at le mans, as your handed control, I use motion sense, so I hold the trigger for brakes and add throttle as the lights come on. As soon as they go out, release the brakes and go. F1 2017 does similar sometimes online, but there you can use the fuel map thing to make lightning getaways. At Austria the cars all bog down so seems to take a while before everyone really gets going, but it seems to delay the carnage to T2 which is avoidable.

Just set a 01:06.063 in the Mini and I've never been happier! Took 0.4s off my previous best. Hello front row!

Is it just me or did GTS daily races stop changing tracks? The RBR and mini race is now already in its 3rd day or what's going on?
