Imagine the bill after such a long phone call... :scared::lol:
In the Netherlands we have unlimited calls/sms plans and if you can permit it even unlimited 4G data.
So with one of those subscriptions it would be free if the race was here

Next weeks races:
N200 - Red Bull Ring Short - 7 laps - Grid Start
Gr.3 - Blue Moon Bay Speedway - 10 laps - Rolling Start
Gr.4 - Lago Maggiore GP - 8 laps - Fuel x7, Tyre wear x8 - Rolling Start

Other than checking this thread, is there a way to find what the upcoming 'daily races' are?

Yo what a bargain! Here an expensive plan can only get you 5GB worth of 4G and an hour of call I think :(
Unlimited texts so there's that I guess?

I tried two RBR races last night. Both were dirty again, got punted twice in the first one, got spun around into the gravel in the second one in T3. Also the backfield was now abusing the T1 track limits. It seems to have played out, it's not getting cleaner, cheating is getting worse, dives are increasing, matchmaking is getting worse at SR 99 (A+/S to D/S in prime time). I don't expect it to be any better in the weekend. Good luck to those who venture onto the track today.

No one is forcing you to race there. In my mind Tokyo is the worst track/s in the game to race on, but I'd never suggest getting rid of any tracks. Some people love Tokyo. New tracks are being added without removing tracks. Bathurst is the *only* reason I bought this game in the first place.
Are you an aussie lol? I just can't get on with it in this game all the prevuious GT's fine this one its undriveable...maybe its better when my wheel comes back out. I can't drive the F1 either

Guess I should just stop existing. The penalty system is STILL crap and I was at the brink of being rest, AGAIN. Thanks again PD, it's a pleasure playing this game every single day. 👍

Still managed to finish 3rd and set the fastest lap, with my pace I would have easily won this race.

Lol, that might be the worst one yet.

It's as if the game is simply saying, 1. There was contact. 2. The other person went off the track. Result = It was your fault.

Obviously that wasn't the case there and I've had a few penalties similar to that. The fact that everyone is running wide out of T1 also makes this issue worse. I've had people lunge me on lap 1 into turn 1, they hit me, they then spin off the track and the game has used the logic above to say it was my fault!

It's just so baffling to me. Some races the penalty system works completely fine and they way they intended to (well, at least I hope so). And then there are races like this.

Now I'm actually dreading of doing another race, as this brought me down to SR B. If somebody does this exact thing next race I'll be down at SR C and will be reset again. That's absolute rubbish.

Agreed. I was really looking forward to racing Gr.2 again but now I fear doing the race as I worry about my SR dropping to B again. Then having to rebuild it all day in the Gr.3 race.

Speaking of which, on one of your videos, you are having a good showdown against India's fastest guy.

Let's not talk about that Russian that is the star of your recent GTS video...

Me, an Aussie? I'm sure I don't know what you mean :sly:? There are two places considered sacred ground here... Uluru, and Mount Panorama :p. I wasn't aware the track was in any other versions of GT. Last version I played was 4.

I'm still coming to grips with the F1. Heaven help us when they decide to add it to a weekly, I predict chaos the likes of which surpass the introduction of Monza.

Yea gads! I felt that. I've had similar experiences at N24. Hang in there.

Since no one seems to be posting, time for a race report. Race B, this time with the Viper. I started on the grid P10/14. Race matching was miraculously still working, so a mixed grid of DR/C and D.

Race starts and dumps me mid corner, but I'm ready for it with my wheels already turned and off I go. The corner has spread the start so T1 was fairly strait forward for me, although I did have to keep my eye out for someone re-entering the track. I was doing fairly ok for 2 laps, up to P7. The guy in front kept wriggling around like someone had sprinkled itching powder down his pants. Not sure if that was meant to dissuade me from passing or if he'd taken some of the assists off and wasn't quite under control :odd: .

I had to back off a few times so I didn't hit him, which meant the guys behind caught up. It was tight on T1 lap 3 when I got rear ended on T2 fairly hard, and saw an orange SR, then when I had just managed to gain control from sliding sideways from the impact, I get shoved aside by another car, then rear ended again by the same guy who hit me in the first place! I watched the replay and it looks like the first hit was just being too ambitious, the second hit was him still trying to get under control from the first contact. I looked at his profile. Almost twice as many races as me, but still stuck on DR/D. His SR has been pretty stable on 99 mostly, and he has the mythical 15 clean race achievement, so I am surprised at the first contact. Dropped down to P9 where I crossed the line.

Despite the two orange SRs I saw, still finished with a white SR. DR down about 250, which leaves me still higher than a few days go. Day 7 visiting DR/C :dopey:.

Only did two races in c. Started 3rd, finished 3rd in the first. In the second race I was leading then my 1 year old picked up the ds4 that I use for my headset and brought me to a stop coming out of turn 2. Didn’t know wtf was going on at first, I thought my pedals were broken.

Dropped to 12th by the time I got up and going again.

And I just fired up gts up for race C action. Think I'll just do qualifying laps till later lol

What’s a competitive lap time for gr4 at Maggiore?
I’ve done a low 2.08 in the Veyron.

Thanks

I've mentioned it elsewhere in this forum before, but alot has to do with the group of drivers your matched with and the approach they take to the racing. If with a group of serious and competitive racers who appreciate the gratification of clean overtakes and truly earned positions, the penalty system is flawless and works as intended. However, if with a bunch of goons trying wreck and play Mario cart, it becomes too much for the penalty system to decipher. As I said before, its the racers that need to change, not the system. I have been one of lucky ones as of recent to be grouped with a decent bunch of drivers and have had some very intense races with a great sense on track manners.

It's quite consistent, yet the reasoning behind it escapes me as well. If both cars go off track, the one leaving the track last is considered the 'victim' and the one that left first gets the penalty. Just as weird as when more than 2 cars are involved, the one that made contact last and stayed on the road gets the penalty. So if you want to punt someone off, use another car as a cue ball, or follow them off track to escape a penalty...

The normal way of operation is, contact, one car leaves road, other car gets the penalty. Yet that's also way too simple as when someone turns in on you at the apex then loses control will give you a penalty. Plus people can still spin you out on track and never get a penalty when you manage to stay on the road, turned around and all.

Sure, as long as there are clean overtakes, as in no contact, then it indeed works flawless

Last corner in the Minis. Guy in front of me bottles it and brakes, I hit him, he goes off, I get a three second penalty as I cross the line in first. What a time.

Driving standards in the Minis have deteriorated as the week's gone on. At the beginning of the week I had nothing but good and clean races - the last couple of days I've seen nothing other than mainly red SRs at each race end.

Was just thinking I should give up, then the last race we had a 3 way dice for the lead, very close and clean, and at the end of the race all 12 drivers had a blue SR!

I shall miss this event when it's finished - mainly podium finishes have pushed my DR up by 7000 points in total, not that that's necessarily a good thing - don't think I'll be able to sustain it next week.....

Lmao 5s and orange sr for getting t-boned.
This game and the players...

cannot play two races in a row , i'm always booted from the loading screen on the 2nd race / now i need to clear the cache and reboot the game between each single race :/

I disagree. I have had plenty of side by side and mid corner bumps. As long as it has not created a change in line or an off track, no penalties seem to be issued, just sr down. If both are trying to be clean, that should be the most of the contact, unless of course a mistake occurs then a penalty should be issued. This is in a perfect world where everyone is trying to race clean.

Had only one single 1.5 second penalty at RBR and an entirely clean race otherwise, still ended up with minus 12 SR down. I was about 8 points away from a DR reset. Almost *@&* my pants.

This race is cursed..

Tried my Z4 @ NGP. It'd nice. Feels slow and not as sharp as others with initial turn in. Mid corner to exit, I have to drop more speed and it'll turn better.

Once I figured that out, I gained time to a slip sliding RC F. Started last and made up 2 spots. Yawn....

Edit:

Jumped in the trusty Genesis. Had a good battle, at the back of an 11-car early morning race.
Last lap, me and an RSR swapped places. I passed it again and gapped it while catching a GT-R. It's sliding on exit. So I catch it right at the chicane. I take the wide exit. We go through the final turn cleanly as Im ahead mid-corner with strong exit speed. The player taps me. Then, squeezed me to the rumble strips with a couple more taps and I lose speed on the edge of the dirt, right at the line. 👎

Like this? Go to the last lap, I am the lancer.

Just could not catch a break today, the only thing I caught were a bunch of hits that would send me out of control. Down to SR A now, I think I'll wait for GR4.
