Being hunted down the last half of the race can be quite stressful!

Don't actually know where to put this but I've experienced tonight something what I can only describe as a ghost explosion, I'm in the TT trying to beat the Mustang in the pits from fuel saving, I exit knowing that there is a car coming down the home straight so I'm planning on hugging the apex, I'm not able to see the Mustang as its ghosted inside of me and then what I can only describe as my wheel went nuts and the screen span, felt like I'd been hit by a missile. So naturally I save the reply so I can actually find out what the hell happened as I got hit with a 4 sec penalty and -8 SR for the trouble.

I never actually got hit by anything .

@Sven Jurgens I know that SR Points dropping is a major interest to you. I finally worked my way back from 32 points to 99 SR. Interestingly I am finding that when I was SR C, B and even A a light tap was costing me points and a single Orange Sector would ruin a race. Now that I am back to SR/S I've actually had orange sectors and even 3 second penalties and not dropped any SR. Is it stretching the imagination to think that when you are SR/S the game knows a a one off incident is not your normal style and is less likely to punish you? Anyhoo, I am enjoying play again now that I am with drivers that don't try to sit in my passenger seat.:odd:

I have a suspicion the game still punishes unevenly based on DR rank. Meaning when you hit / get hit by a lower rank player, you get the majority of the blame. And when you race at lower SR you generally get a lot more lower ranked people in the room.

I had time for a couple races this afternoon and while still DR,B I sorta hang on on Blue moon bay. When I advanced to DR.A it seemed to get a lot harsher, especially against lower ranked drivers. And harsher again when I got into lower ranked rooms.

DR:29672 | SR:99/99 | Races:4000
DR:29420 | SR:97/99 | Races:4001 2x SR Down (pushed)
DR:29772 | SR:97/99 | Races:4002 1x SR Down (pushed)
DR:29763 | SR:91/99 | Races:4003 3 sec penalty from clipping dive bomb, bump drafting to catch up, fastest lap
DR:31830 | SR:80/99 | Races:4004 2x2 sec penalty, car scraped wall in front of me, 1st place trying to shed penalty in front of me, fastest lap
DR:32126 | SR:76/99 | Races:4005 got bumped a few times
DR:31899 | SR:54/99 | Races:4006 5 sec penalty from getting a car pushed into me that then disconnected right after, odd.

The one I did as DR.A had no penalties, very little contact, yet I did get bumped passed by a DR.D driver a couple times with me receiving the SR Down for it. The DR.D driver had a blue rating.

Then the last one this happened:

There was a lot of contact in that race, plenty SR Downs. Yet the 5 sec penalty is one I have not seen before. Going frame by frame it happens before IP slightly bump the car going into T3, so it must be for what happened in T2. I get a car pushed into me that disconnects right after. It seems I get a 5 sec penalty for his disconnect??

And this popped up when I started the game.

It would have been nice if it said who to thank for that. Thanks to who ever won!

How do you guys do the "no stop" strategy for this week's Race C? Curious because I've never tried it before. I've always run max fuelling and don't really short shift, with 1 stop.
From my race with the Cayman, it can do it on Fuel 1. The gearing is such that I was shifting a hair before 8000rpm. Handling is excellent and tyre wear is minor. I just used caution by pitting. I'm going to try to do a non-stop, once I get the disconnections sorted.

I just got dq'd from blue moon because I was leading and dude behind me kept hitting me....keep up the great work PD.

Ouch! I did notice that bump drafting gives SR Down to the car that gets pushed. I received SR Downs when getting pushed from behind, nothing when doing the pushing. So now you can get DQ (or DQ someone) by bump drafting? :banghead:

It's terrible man. I don't get it. Not like I can control the car behind me yknow? This game pisses me off more and more every week.

wooo go GT86, had a few races in Race C, I was the only 86 in all of them, gained places every race, even led for a few laps in my last race, saw @EERIEISSSS a couple of times, infact he got past me when I missed a turn in and ran a bit wide!

good fun, the 86 is such a good car!!

What is the N200 car on Race A?

also, is this info available anywhere so a i don't have to ask and/or go back 3 pages? (I just did btw)

I've now went from a BS to a BE in four B races from being hit from behind on straightaways.....this isn't even racing anymore.

Is it me or has the penalty system just gone nuts? Was having a so so day yesterday of RBR trying to get SR and DR back up again with one race good one race punted off lots trying to get from SR B to A and hopefully S when having been continously hit by someone who had 18 seconds of penalties a message flagged up, one more and your disqualified, next corner boom out. So fuming gave up, down to SR D.

Roll on race C, don't qualify just plan to keep it clean at the back, sacrifice my small amount of DR for getting back to clean racing. 3 laps in gained a couple of places but more importantly nice and clean, happy to just enjoy a quiet race. Then some takes more speed than me through the right hander at the end of the back straight, hits me in the arse and up pops a disqualification warning! Hadn't touched a person yet next corner Mr impatient behind me wacks me and I'm out. This was the first race since my last disquali so is it just over sensitive? I don't get how people drive round with 10 + seconds of delays but you get disqualified with none.

Daily race B will be hell with this penalty system.

I went from an SR A (71 pts) to SR B (58 pts) in 2 race B's, all due to racers behind me bump drafting. I never actually hit or touched a car to my side or in front of me, yet lose 13 points in 2 races. I started at the back in both races, and finished 7th & 5th.

Race B is a definite SR killer this week.

What are you guys using for Race C?

I’m giving the WRX a try but I’m not sure if I like it around this track.

I’ve been using the Ferrari because I like using cars nobody else is using and it’s my favorite Gr4 car. Probably not the best car but competitive. Was on podium most of the races I did today.

NSX is probably the best car for the race. With it’s fuel efficiency and how good it is on tires, you could win doing a no stop.

Race B is not worth it unless you qualify top 5. Kill your SR else. Just hope top 5 just tuck in around 1st corner and not fight. Too many try to overtake in the corners and slam you into wall rather than concentrate on exit and slipstream past you. I don't even defend slipstreamers until last few laps to try pull away from chasing group.

43.180 qualifying but got 42.367 after two silly drafts in my second race...half second faster than next lol. Bet the S/S guys do that without draft.

Yay I won my first online race. Was swapping the lead with this guy in race B for 9 laps and I thought I had blew my chance after running wide at turn 1 and clipping the wall falling a second and half behind. He then totally stacks it on the final lap in turn one spinning after hitting the wall on exit and finishes 7th while I cruise to victory.

Why does one get penalized for what others do behind them? Who thought this would be a bright idea? It just makes 0 sense. They must not understand oval racing in Japan.

This night B races for me ... From SR S to A in two races, After that a sabbatic clean race to regain the SR S..

IR

2nd time after nearly 10 years GT sport makes me log into this in anger lol.. WHAT IS WITH RACE A? the Lancia race. People leave the track entirely and gain 3 seconds with no penalty, and you take insane penalties yourself for being rammed. Is this a bug? i went from DR A (31000) SR B (51) to a reset D E within 1 race without ANY contact being my own fault. i even have the recording.
Please say its not just me ?

Edit: to add insult to injury, my first race back i spun out at the start, recovered to win, take the fastest lap and clean race bonus but gained no DR or SR points

Same thing happened to me just now. I have a top 50 Q time in the Americas. Poles and/or front row starts with Fastest Laps and wins all day.

People bump draft, as they should at a super speedway, and I'm getting DQ'ed.

This morning when I woke up, I was an A/S driver, now I'm C/E, all from being bump drafted all day. Funniest part of all this, if you bump some one, no orange SR down, but if they bump draft you, you get dinged.

I should rant and whine and complain, but I won't, everyone has blasted this penalty system for over 10 months so instead I'll simply just ask:

Does anyone know when I can re-enter a race without it starting a race without it warning me that "one more incident and I will be disqualified"?

Tried a no stop strategy using the NSX.

05:30 Room, Qualified 2nd, and there are some drivers whose SR ranges from Bs and Cs. I thought the no stop worked, until pressure got me and I was eating my tyres, causing the pole sitting 86, which pitted for a 1 stop, to win the race from the final lap, as I was hopelessly defending. That final lap defense is caused by my understeer on one of the laps before that...

Daily race B, Blue Moon Speedway.

Honestly, what is going on...
How can someone possibly motivate getting negative SR by being on the receiving end of bumper drafting? It’s just unacceptable, that’s all there’s to it.

I'll take a break this week from worrying about my SR. I did 3 more races on Bluemoon, all 3 were clean, fair, competitive racing. Now I'm down to SR 40. The penalty system has no clue anymore what it's doing. I won one race, would have won another if not for a nonsense 5 sec penalty. I crossed the line first, didn't bother scrubbing penalties. I'll focus on clean overtakes, strategic lines, leaving room side by side and working together with other cars to get ahead. The game can do whatever it wants.

I got disconnected twice at matchmaking already (send back to race select screen) so I qualified this week. Starting last on a Bluemoon sprint race is no good anyway. 10 laps is not enough to bump draft to the front after the dust from lap 1 settles.

The race I just did now, won by 5 sec after pole disconnected during the auto-drive start. It was a room with two A/B drivers (one of which me, the other disconnected) and the rest D/B and E/B. Matchmaking is awesome! not.

From A/S to B/C in the matter of just a couple of races while doing one’s utmost to race clean and fair at Blue Moon with these ludicrous penalties. If no change is made one’s essentially forced to quit racing online for a week even though that may be the complete opposite of what one would like to do. Or of course completely avoiding one race because the probability of it harming one’s DR and SR is through the roof.

Is that the really the way it’s supposed to be? Carry on like this and people will eventually lose interest in the game altogether.

I am pretty much just about at that point. After the debacle this penalty threw at me on Saturdays FIA race, and never penalized a guy for slamming me off the track, I'm about to sell my wheel setup and the damn game. It's just not fun anymore.

Haven't tried yet. But Race A and B sound horrible. :yuck:

I think I'll stick to 1 player stuff this week.

Same. You cannot "no stop" the NSX in DR:A. Tyres were hammered by lap 8 and it was understeer city (and I drive pretty smooth). Got some good results x1 stopping though.

Really clean close racing in race C for me tonight.

The trophy seems to be ideal for no pit strategy. Its imperative to draft on the long straight as that part of the track is a major weakness for the car.
