After getting my SR hammered by the constant taps in the rear at Blue Moon (down from S to B after two races, DR still at A), I entered the C race at Maggiore, to find I was on pole with a complete field of E/Bs.....

Still, at least I got a win out of it!

Did you gain any DR from that? DR.E can't gain nor lose, yet maybe you still points for beating DR.E drivers?

In my case I earned 376 DR for that win from 6 DR.E and the rest DR.D while I was at 30.4k, meaning any DR.D I beat is worth 29 points max, so the 6 DR.E players were worth at least something. Max 261 points from 9 DR.D drivers, thus about 19 points per DR.E. driver. I guess they simply count as DR.1 so 80 - (30400 / 500) = 19 points per DR.E driver for what my DR was. Seems to add up correctly.

I think this might be it. The FR cars in the Groups 3 and 4 categories just don’t seem to feel any where near as good to drive as the MR cars now. I was driving the Viper exclusively in both categories since almost the release date but I finally had to make a switch to an MR following the updated tyre model.

Funny you should mention that. I'm waiting for the count down to start the 12:30 race with the Viper. I did the NSX last night. I guess the tyre model doesn't effect the qualifying, because it feels nice and controllable.

Jeez, I suck at Lago Maggiore. I consistently lose time in the complex starting at turn 2 down to the long downhill straight. I just can't hook up the corners to get a decent exit speed onto the straights.

I had read a lot about no-stopping it, and watched that youtube video of the guy doing it in an NSX - looked easy I thought, occasional use of fuel map 2 and short shifting will do it. Tried that in my 86, it was clear I was not going to make it by the end of lap 5 so I switched to fuel map 6, lost buckets of time, got smacked around by people swarming past me (picking up penalties in the process) and *still* ran out of fuel before the final corner. Short shifting alone is clearly not the secret to no-stopping. Must be some voodoo stuff going on. Finished dead last, with -15 SR and -800 DR.

I clawed some of that back by doing a one stopper in the Cayman and finishing 5th, but still finished the day with a net loss in all ratings.

I would honestly love to be doing the oval race this week but it's too much of a gamble with my SR. May have to take the week off :(

I cant break the 2.07s and I've tried a few cars. The M4 I've got 2:07.300. I'm baffled as I also had trouble getting near those on my friends list in the GT3 daily on here a couple of weeks back. Someone on my list is in the 2:05s in the Cayman, I couldnt get under 2:08 in it. Yet in the past I've won here. Not sure what the problem is.

Same here, m8te!

Got a qualy time of 2.06.2 but lacking pace in general. Compared to my 'old tire model' times, i'm losing around 1,5 sec. More than on other tracks when i compare laptimes.

Try the TT for pace, goes smooth.

Race C is pretty good. Got my SR back to an A. Been driving the GTR and the Atenza qualifying 2:07.2. I think I can do better. What car are you using and why? Which Gr4 has fastest top end best braking cornering

I tried yesterday with Megane Trophy. My qualyfing lap was 2.06.4, which wasn't pretty good, and finished P7 and P4 in the two races I did. You need to have patience because Megane Trophy is so much slower than rest of the cars on the straights (Audi, Peugeot, Porsche, Honda...) but is a beast through the corners and very good in terms of saving fuel and tyre wear. Maybe I will try again with NSX or Cayman

Oh Luuuucy, I' hooooome! Yes folks, the holiday is over and I'm back into DR/D. So here's how it happend....

I was going to do Race C with the NSX again tonight, but did some qualifying laps with the Viper, and even though I wasn't quite able to get the same time, it was close enough. Last night I was P2, tonight I started P8 or 9 (I didn't screen capture to recall)with the same time. I assume as the week rolls on people will get faster. The grid had a lot more DR/Bs in it.

The race starts and the dash for crash begins. I was being cautious going into T1 and got hit on all sides for my trouble. Orange SR. I was holding my own and in a position to improve, but when there is three cars in front of you and you are obviously faster through a number of the sections, it's very frustrating not to see any openings that didn't involve wedging my way through. Sadly being held up meant the others behind, who weren't shy about wedging their way through did exactly that :grumpy:. Another orange SR. On the second lap, second to last corner I was rammed so hard my mouth was defecating :banghead:. The high speed slide came to a sudden stop on the corner of one of those orange barriers :dopey:.

I re-enter the track in last place and 4s behind P16. I caught up to P16 but P15 and 16 were holding me up with their own battle and I just couldn't see an opening. People were pitting and eventually I found myself in P8. I dropped a couple of places because my tyres were a bit unhappy, and I pitted.

Pitted P10 and decided to keep the boots. I took on 0.5 laps worth of fuel and off I went. Came out in P17 . Just couldn't get past anyone tonight so last place for me. After that I just didn't have the stomach for another race :irked:.

SR went up from 97 to 99. DR dropped from 4139 to 1551. It's going to be a while before I see DR/C again. Another day above DR 1 .

DR was down after all of the races yesterday, but I don't know the individual race effect.

DR down today too, despite 2 top 6 finishes out of 3 races (not all E/Bs in these races though), but SR went back up to S! I'm heading back to my natural home of DR B - only got to A as a result of a raft of podiums in the Mini race last week.

I had some free time in the morning again, so checked out Blue moon bay some more. I'm currently DR 8912, SR 23, that should tell enough.

Interesting observation, while passing SR.B on the way down I often got pole and some times an easy win. Now down in SR.D the competition is back and I'm starting P7 again, same as in SR.S. Race craft at the front field is actually quite similar to SR.S. However there are a few in there that will bump pass and drive you into the wall in every corner as for some reason a D/D or D/C player doesn't get a penalty for bumping someone into the wall. Perhaps since I'm still higher DR? (DR.C). I saw the same car bump pass at least 3 other people into the wall, never a penalty, ended with a blue rating.

I haven't hit DR.D yet, it's quite hard to go further down since the racing is a lot better at SR.D

And another reason to get rid of DR resets: When you race at lower SR there really is no point in finishing 2nd or lower to build your DR as it can be taken away at any moment. Only winning counts, which is probably a big contributor to the increase in desperate moves at low SR.

Yeah, i see a lot of TT's but 4 me it doesn't work that well. I find it very annoying that while accelerating out of a corner, initially it 'hooks' or 'squares' up (don't know how to describe it otherwise) much more then other FF's.
I much more prefer the MR's or 4WD's. Grtz.

Just got disconnected from the gr4 1:00 pm est race. Anyone else?

Yeah the first thing I do is watch the top ten replays see what's what. I know I'm not going to get near them using motion sense and auto gears and I think that's the issue with this track, although I dont recall being so slow before for some reason. I note the s after the uphill right is just a down change and turn in, I'm braking, same on the last left before the start finish straight. Yet I'm in the 1:03s on race A which I thought was pretty good! I think I need a wheel.
I wouldn't worry too much, don't think it's the peripherals giving the top 10 those times on Race A - have you seen how they're all taking the final corner?

Wtf I havent looked at these as I jumped straight into the delta fresh from the RB ring Gr2 races. That last corner tho...are they all doing it? I must have a look later.

Several don't have the replays available (so I think it's safe to assume they're guilty:P) and of the 3 I checked they all did it.
I didn't bother checking the whole board but I think it's fairly safe to assume so =\

Thing is the rest of the lap doesnt look that quick. Surely theres not over 2 seconds here in the last corner between my 1:03 and a 1:00??

Lobby Racing is so much greater than Sport ever could be. Host or find a clean or kick lobby.

I vastly prefer lobbies. I only partook in Sport Mode because I wanted to Platinum the game.

I agree it's much more fun in lobbies with friends but we must raise our DR .
I really don't find interesting the platinum stuff in GT Sport !

' The platinum stuff ' ???

Well it will depend a lot on your lap, I'm currently at a 1:02.5 so there's at least half a second you can find. There isn't much else to the lap really so that could be why it doesn't look that quick.

Ended up with some more goes at Blue Moon last night. Got two wins. One was after I went for a pass on the outside on the last corner and ended up hitting the wall - leader got a 1 second penalty which I thought was a bit harsh. But then I got robbed of a win a few races later, got bumped into someone else on the last lap and ended up with 3 seconds despite having several harder contacts before not being punished. All great fun, though.

Struggling to get that elusive first win this week with the GR4 WRX. My results have been 2, 3, 2, 2, 2. My fastest qualy time is 2:05.6, but I think I can get into the high 2:04’s with it. My bb is 5, but it still doesn’t feel like it's enough.

I need to short shift for 6/8 laps to even stay within a shout of winning, I enter the pits with around 38l of fuel. My front tires also get noticeably worn on the 4th lap. I think it's time to try something else.

Doing it on the out lap would create heaps of time as well...they would be hitting the start line at a greater speed which would carry all the way up the straight. Just a thought as i havent attempted the race yet...whats the speed in kph or or mph crossing the startline compared to yours?

This is just...wow. How is this even possible?

I'll give the guy credit though for saving it at the end but still finishing as number one, just lol.

Wanted to take the Mustang for a spin, well not literally though.
I got a clean race bonus after that with no SR drop.
Ended up having a laugh at least

Well after two disqualifications in a row tried race C in the Megane Trophy but decided to fuel / no stop the race. Also to avoid any chance of further crazy disqualifications decided not to qualify. Had a great time mostly just putting in steady laps, got myself up to 9th post pitstops and decided I'd saved enough fuel to go all out on the last lap to keep 9th. Worked great till I run out of fuel on the start finish straight and drop to 10th only 0.3 off 9th.

Still after a SR dropping down to 10 that got it back up to 37. Want to race properly but pack racing at SR C and B is such a :nervous:

Might keep with same tactic and see if I can get back to S or A. Just kills your DR.

Managed to get a time of 2.05.258 using the Vantage. Unfortunately whatever I tried I couldn't beat it. I decided to try a few other cars but couldn't improve, so I went back to the Vantage and after a little more practice I end up with 2.04.976. I then did another dozen laps and finally ended up with 2.04.703. Enough qualifying I think.
