I finally got a win today after a long period without any podium victories on Race C
First I qualified using my 911 RSR since the car is quite fast and fuel/tire wear are deactivated on qualify, I got 1:46:900 which was the fastest I have ever been in that circuit, I still have no idea how and I'm quite sure I won't be able to pull that off again, I haven't recorded it either.
Anyway, instead of racing with the 911 that is quite hard on tire and fuel wear, I decided to roll up with my Atenza Gr3 and save fuel by short shifting all the way up to the pitstop, I lost 3 positions but that was OK because I managed to keep up with the first while saving fuel.
When it was time to pit, everyone had to refuel except for me, who just changed tires
For reference, the first 3 were a Mustang and two 911 RSRs, both aren't good on fuel and tires, specially the 911s.
Then after the pit the Mustang in the 2nd place kept chasing my tail throughout the rest of the race until he came in too hot in a sharp left and went to the ditch, after that I opened a 4 seconds advantage to the other 2nd place and maintained it until the last lap.
I guess the key to win on this race is fuel saving.
