I finally got the kitchen sink unplugged, took 3 days, dredging crap out the top, 3 different chemicals, 2 plungers, 2 plumbing snakes, 2 different access ports, just pushing the clog further down until it was at least 15 feet down the pipe under the floor. Persistence and patience paid off, I can wash the dishes again, hurray, hmm. So fun being an adult.

Back to racing. 11:30 race, started on pole. A Brazilian behind me, SR.A, however I don't recognize his name so I assume he's clean. He is. He hangs on until the Karoussel where I get out of draft range. Easy 3 star victory with 3 second lead in the end. Very different with no one to pass.

11:50 race, pole again, in front of a guy who's been telling me to qualify.

A tip for the future, a shop vac with a wet rag wrapped around the nosil/tip can suck a clog back out the drain depending on how far down it is and what it is that’s clogging the drain. Works better on toilets but it is an effective strategy at times on sinks as well as long as there is no overflow hole. I spent 5 years doing maintenance work for a property management company at one point so I’ve dealt with a LOT of clogged drains haha. :)

Clawed back some dr with race A this morning and got my time around the ring down to 7.51.4. Time for work, i hope to get some races in tonight. Probably wont hit the ring other than hot laps though. I just feel stupid every time i go flying off in front of like 6 other cars

I haven't had time to log a lap time on the Ring so I just kept jumping into races. Despite the damage to my SR rating it's been fun working up to around 5th place from the back of the pack dodging carnage (I've been demoted to DR C lately :(

I kept wondering why everyone else was driving so poorly as I was staying on the track but still running a horrible 8:30 time in the race. I finally stopped being lazy and logged an 8:03 which explains why I've been shooting past everyone so much.

That was my last option. I figured a plunger would suck better with all the air out of the pipes and the other holes plugged. I hate cleaning the shop vac afterwards :) It was all the food debris building up since 2002 before it all collapsed on itself in the horizontal portion under the floor. Usually poking around a bit with a some old coaxial cable does the trick. Good workout with the plunger, that plug was stuck real good. I broke the stick of the one, hence needed another one.

Whenever I build a house I'll make sure the drain pipes for the sink are bigger without angular corners and better access. It's a conspiracy by the Plumber illuminati!

I just pour a ton of draino down there. Done.

I tried 2 household drainers, one special for grease and a professional one. There was smoke coming out the sink! That professional one is some heavy stuff. It did not work. It still took 8 hours for the sink to drain.

Had a similar situation recently. I bought a 30 ft snake that did the job. I have stopped putting any kind of grease down the drain. No more grease covered pans...I wipe them out with paper towels. Another bad habit I stopped is draining browned ground beef down the drain. I always figured some hot water running and it would go right down. We'll see if new habits help.

Edit: BTW, I find it humorous how the Brazilians have a bad rep about being over-aggressive and even dirty. That's what we used to say about the Canadians sometimes when I used to race at Loudon. I gotta say that they always came down with the hottest women, though.:D

So it turns out that Tokyo is possibly the best race of the week for SR farming, I just got back up to 99 there so now I'm giving the Canada account a rest and going back across the pond... I'll miss the Argentinians and Brazilians for sure.

Had a Race at the Ring. I wish there was ghosting to pass some cars. Frustrating getting stuck behind a car who refuses to let others pass or not paying attention to their rear view. In a one lap race having to brake unexpectedly, it's pretty hard to make that time back.

Here in EU it's usually the Spanish and Italians that tend to be dirty. At least in my experience.

That's racing. They are not obligated to jump out of your way. It's up to you to pass safely otherwise your just hot lapping.

Race craft my man/woman/other :)

Yeah understand that. I'm talking about situations here where it's not just me being held up but 5-6 cars on passing straights the Nurburgring. Due to a car not letting cars with clearly more momentum through.

Um yeah, that's racing. At bathurst my race was screwed as i pit on lap 4 to undercut the guy in P2 who stayed out, i exited the pits and got burnt for an entire lap behind the guy in P6. I must have been 2 seconds a lap quicker but just could not get by as he managed great exits.

P1 pits and exits a car length in front of me and is now on fresher tyres.

That's racing.

I just got back from the grocery store, and while there, I was thinking about race B, for two reasons. One is that this is the last full day of racing I have this week, and I was considering different ways to get through certain turns more quickly.

The other is that I don't really like grocery shopping, so when I go, I buy tons of stuff, so I don't have to come back for a while. Towards the end, when my cart was really loaded up, the thing was corning like an aircraft carrier. It reminded me of what it's like to go from the Gr.3 cars in race C, to the Porsche on sport hard tires. At first, you're like whoa, what the hell is wrong with this thing. Then after some turns, you make the adjustment.

Similarly, in the end, I got that cart figured out and I was able to hold a tight line around the end of the last aisle and outran some dude to the checkout stand, who wasn't able to focus and put the power down, because he let the baked goods distract him. :D

You mean you don't do that EVERY time you go to the store?

Any insight on this with the Porsche? Flat out and even just coasting it steers rather poorly. I have to constantly time my hard turn with a quick lift on the throttle or pop the brake to shift the weight forward so it'll hit the corner easier.

I seem to be the most inconsistent on the long right hander on Hatzenbach. Sometime she turns and sometimes she understeers towards the wall despite my attempt trying to be the same. Slight lift before the crest, pop the brake on landing and turn in to break the back end loose. Sometimes it breaks loose, sometimes it just keeps going.

Here is my improvement @AUTISTICBOYX Now how do I shave 3.650 seconds of my time to get in them 1.59s?
I lost .445 in the first section because that's just what I do:banghead:

I'm not very good on that track. There are probably many others here, who could be much more helpful.

I did learn some things from watching the top 10 replays. You don't have to worry about putting your inside tires on the grass, and I saw guys taking some turns in ways I hadn't considered.

Went to the usual monkey business with the AMG and my previous quali time of 2:00.996 puts me on pole, perfect for the situation. But then on Lap 4, I decided to go round the outside, but J50 tapped me into a wall! This is not what my monkey business intended to run! In the end my undercut didn't work and finished 3rd, with a 2nd placed FT-1 winning the race.

Fumed by that, I decided to try out the GT-R and after 16 laps, I was able to get the time down to a 2:00.577, which should serve me good for my monkey business and night battles...

Work is really boring today, the washes i am doing have 90 minutes cycles. All i can do is think about race B and why i have such a hard time with it during races. I have gotten it under control for hot laps but as soon as i enter a race it's like i barely know how to drive. I think i am psyching myself out because of the narrow track and the fact that i don't like to hold up faster drivers. I need to remain calm and just run my pace, not allow the pressure of being on track with other cars intimidate me.

We'll see what i can do in 3 or 4 hours from now if i feel confident enough to try it again. It is friday so maybe an adult beverage or two will help hehe

Ugh, I raced too late. It was going great, had a clean streak of 7 going with a couple wins. Then 5:50 pm race, American behind me first bumps me from behind, SR Down, clean streak reset. Then he tries to bump pass me, too fast as he goes off as well pushing me into the wall. Somehow he doesn't get a penalty. Then I'm down in the field between Argentinians and Brazilians. The rest of the race turns into pinball mayhem. I get rammed, get a 2 sec penalty, get run off on the straight to Karoussel, get rammed a couple more times. Started 2nd. rammed off until 11th, finished 9th. -14 SR, most of the room had red ratings, couple demoted to SR.A.

Note to self, avoid racing after 5:30, before 10pm.... And I'm not listening to myself, trying again to restore SR. This might end badly. Starting on pole with a SR.A Argentinian behind me :nervous: And yes, the Argentinian bumps me to the wall at T minus two. I managed to get back on the road before getting passed and keep him behind me. He got a 3 sec penalty yet keeps draft bumping me the rest of the race until he falls back at Karoussel. No SR gain, win is good enough. After the race he accuses me of dirty driving  (yes I made sure to go wide enough to trigger his penalty instead of hanging onto the edge and letting him bump pass while taking the SR Down, no thank you) Most of the room was red again with a couple or red A's and B's. Glad I did not decent into that back field.

I'm getting really over this server re-merge.

One more, pole again, American starting behind me. No problems, triple star victory, +5 SR. Unfortunately the American gets taken out by the 1 bar connection of the Argentinian behind him which gets him a penalty. I feel sorry for him. We were having a good race until Argentina intervened. Time for dinner, better quit on a good note instead of risk another pinball race.

Man I tried the merc, great on fresh softs but by lap 4, my God, the understeer!!!! Couldnt turn it to save my life.

In my eyes. Yes. Now i am not as versed on the rules and all of that, but if that was me i would feel bad.

You messed up the turn and that allowed him to get slighlty ahead. I would have lifted ever so slightly and followed him down the hill. Lots of race left to make a move. To be fair he could have given you a bit more space, but he was ahead. I wonder if he had radar on?

^^ could explain why? I also like these opportunities to learn more about racing... i tend to race by gentlemen rules and care more about my sr than dr tbh. So learning when it is appropriate to hold your ground and such is a benifit to me, and possibly others. my answer was based off how i race not my (lack of) understanding the rules

I feel like he ran into me. My style is aggressive, and when in doubt, I go full throttle. I would have lifted if I thought he was gonna come to my side of the track, but I just planned to stay on my side. If him moving over and hitting me caused contact, then I think he didn't have a right to move over to my side of the track. If he hasn't cleared me then it's still my side of the track. That's just how I see it, but I was curious if I was in the minority on that thought. Wondering how others see it.
