In my eyes. Yes. Now i am not as versed on the rules and all of that, but if that was me i would feel bad.

You messed up the turn and that allowed him to get slighlty ahead. I would have lifted ever so slightly and followed him down the hill. Lots of race left to make a move. To be fair he could have given you a bit more space, but he was ahead. I wonder if he had radar on?

I disagree. I don't think either is at fault.

I think sturk0167 does all he can to leave room on the right. IMO the other car cuts in too tight and misjudges how much room is available on the left. But I think it's obviously accidental contact.

Here is my improvement @AUTISTICBOYX Now how do I shave 3.650 seconds of my time to get in them 1.59s?
I lost .445 in the first section because that's just what I do:banghead:

For starters, check this video by kie25:

I'm not an alien but I can tell you are missing a ton of time in the mountain climb section and the esses. Great exits onto the long straights are vital for a solid time. You need to utilize trailbraking and all of the track available to maximize your exit and average speed.

So close! I had it by a few tenths before the final straight but didn’t get a good run out of that corner onto the straight, but did shave a few seconds off my previous best from earlier in the week. I’m almost wanting to do a race now lol. :)

So, I ran some qual for c. Seemed I hit a reasonable time for myself to be midpack. Nah. Try starting 16.
Entire left half of grid almost in 01.
Hmmm. A plan of action? Race clean. These guys have faster times than me. Only a few others in the room at sr b. Most higher a and a plus. I figured, do what you always do, if you are had don’t fight it, stay on track!
It turned out to be a very hard fought battle at the back. At most times I had high beams distorting my vision in car from whoever was following...
I ran 5 on soft then pitted. I emerged into 13. There were several people who overtook me and several folks I overtook...Nuts. I kept my nose clean and upped six places to barely sneak a top ten!
Very happy. Sr 99
“We salute you mr. Bit slow but keep it on track guy!”

Awsome dood! I knew that as sage advise, but I just didn't follow it last night. Where my troubles started was from not just backing off and tucking in behind the car next to me on the inside coming up to the kink. I strait lined it into the sand, and once you do that, dirty tyres no longer have any grip and it's much easier to come off track again. :banghead:

Was this my fault (aside from the missing the turn thing)?

I would say a definite no. You had the inside and were basically at the edge of the track. He turned into you. If he had given you the room and left a cars width to the curb, he would have completed the pass and there would have been no incedent.

I ran a bunch of laps for both A and B tonight...too many. I was determined to get a 1:29 in Tokyo, and sub 8:00 at the Nord. Ended with a 1:29.9 and a 7:59 something. Optimal was a 29.4 so I have some time there. The 7:59 is a bit disapointing because I was at 7:08+ when I hit the gate at the start of the long straight, and on previous laps I had an .06 and an.03 at that gate but blew it at T-4 and T-3. I need to slow into the first turn at the end of the straight and stay on line.
I sure am noticing the on center play in my G29 with these car/tire/track combo's this week. The cars want to swing like a pendulum.
Gonna race tomorrow! (After work:grumpy:)

That will help, but 1,59s won't be a realistic goal for me yet. Before December I was a controller user who played with TC2 and automatic gears. When I got my G29 wheel I was still using TC2 and automatic gears and then slowly switched to manual gears and later TC off. I got more used to the steering now but braking is still an issue. I think a more realistic goal for me would be in the low 2,02s. Maybe I should try a different car (using the 911)...

Gone Balls through the Wall and made a 2:02 lap in Bathurst, which was really hard work with a DS4.
Pole!
And then the, as usual - second turn and I mass rammed for no reason... really annoying

:(

Haven't really done any racing this week as got my videos of all three races back on Tuesday with two 3rd places and a 4th place finish
on Mount Panorama.

Anything 5th place or better I generally consider a good result providing I don't look too embarrassing in the video replay!

My main reason for posting today is to ask why there is always so much difference in the times at Nurburgring when it's Nordschleife or
24HR circuit version, my time this time with the Porsche was a 7:47.600 but I see the best is 7:25 which makes me feel slow when I feel
like I've pushed my limits.

Still gives me an excuse to keep practicing and working on my times hence my new moto in my signature.

Yeah, i would have let him have the corner, if i mess up i try not to let others pay for it. That being said, these daily races feel like something changed, i am getting SR downs and penalties in every race. And what's up with the players that hit you from behind and you get a penalty, the systems seems more broken than usual :)
Blues SR for weeks, a few races and i lose half my points.. as if i suddenly raced with evil intent.. hahaha

But enough crying, i will just race anyway, the games mistakes is not going to stop me, however, if someone judges me on my SR i will just move them to my ignore list :)

I'm on DS4 and 1/10 off 59s but sadly haven't had the time to attack it lately due to work overload. Also I just realized that my car of choice (the amg) has been a lousy tool for qualifying; the huracan is so much faster, but very tricky. If I were you i'd definitely switch to a car with higher top-end as the Porsche is underwhelming in that area.

15:30 Race C: frustration is what describes this race... Qualied 6th, finished 7th. I rushed my prayer because of me entering the race with the added insult that I peed first!

16:30 Race C: Grid has been whittled down...oh wait, LE DISKO!

Not your fault. Yeah you messed up the corner but they could have easily completed the pass without turning into you. I'd guess it wasn't intentional and they thought they were fully ahead or they just misjudged the space. Yes you could have backed out of it a little but you're not obligated to.
A racing incident in my opinion.

It’s basic maths. If you’re 2 tenths slower/corner, you’ll be 1 second slower/lap if the lap has 5 corners. If you add another 50 corners, you’ll be another 10 seconds slower/lap.

I love Mount Panorama. Did I quick test with the Supra earlier this week, got a 2:07,xxx after a few laps. Yesterday, I tried the GT-R, and was 2 tenths slower on the first lap. So far, I’ve made it down to 2:04,7 with the GT-R, With an optimal lap of 2:03,4:irked:

I did only one race last night, which reminded me of the flaws in the penalty system.

Started P2, qualified only a tenth that or so slower than P1. Going uphill through turn 4-5, the leader goes wide and scrapes the wall. I go outside of him through T5, while giving him plenty of room between me and the wall. Of course, he turns into me and then into the wall again, giving me a 2 sec penalty.:irked:

A couple of laps later, when I’ve dropped back to P4, I missed the braking mark going into the Chase. Primarily because of me not being used to the extra speed of drafting combined with worn tires. So I slightly bump into P3. And I do mean slightly. Like if we’d been bumpdrafting. P3 goes wide, not completely off the track, but enough to let me pass him. After that, he comes back across the track and onto the grass on the straight to the last corner. When he’s completely back on the track and racing, he’s dropped to P6 (the first 4 of us were 3-5 seconds faster:lap than the rest, with the last guy. And I didn’t get a penalty for that?! Which I would’ve understood completely.
He later caught up with me and with a lap to go, I let him pass. By then my tires were gone, and he pitted a lap later than me, so no point in even trying to defend. It also felt like the appropriate thing to do

One of my favourite cars, but a little bit lacking in top end for qualifying although plenty of people can get a 2.01.XXX with it.
The bigger FR cars seem a lot better on the mountain, AMG Mustang Jag GTR etc.
To me anyway, each to his own of course.
Yeah I noticed nobody was using the 911 in the race and figured it might have some disadvantages. Tested a couple of cars and think I will go with the Jag

That's fast with a DS4! I feel like I'm faster with a DS4 on tracks like bathurst and the Ring. I'm more consistent on the brakes and better at trailbraking with a DS4.

17:00 Race C: Supra basically just wants to swap ends as even though I could catch the polesitter in the Vantage, I was not suited enough to the mountain and usually ended up being fairly slow, plus the swapping ends problem made it even worse. Even though I was able to jump the Vantage through an undercut, it just wasn't enough...

I'm running the 'vette tonight, but tomorrow night I'll finish the week with the 911. My choice of cars after the first couple for this week was based less on raw speed and more on being able to get it round the track in one piece while still being able to see where I was going! The 911 has good lights, particularly once you change the lenses to clear. For most of my races I was the only one driving what ever it was at the time.

I suspect I'm over thinking it and PD isn't as cluey as it seems. I noticed that they list the conditions for race C as sunny, and the time as 6:??pm. For it to be that dark so early in the evening, it would have to be winter. It gets a tad nippy in winter at Bathurst, so the track temp would be cold and that might explain why it seems less grippy than day time 💡.

Winter in Australia meens summer. Its vice versa to our northern hemisphere seasons.

EDIT: I think PD uses the time when the Bathurst 24h happen, and this is actually in winter time. So darkness around 6pm is right.

Erm, mate... I live here. The Bathurst *12*h is in a week. It was 38C here today *SUMMER* , not winter. Gets dark more towards 8ish.

O/T But I can't wait for this race, Daytona this week and Bathurst 12hr next week are one of the highlights of my year :D

Two early runs on the ring , and so far i am at least keeping it on the road, mostly lol

First race i was doing good till my one mistake of touching the grass on the outside of the last left at the top before coming down the back side. Only lost two spots and held strong to the end.

Next race i started 5 and was cought drinking my coffee when control was given at the start of the race, which resulted in me going on the grass and conceding two spots before the start even. I actually ran a good race though and got back to 5.

Next one is about to start, wish me luck lol

Another night on the Mountain. Couldn't beat my qualifying time set with the Beetle on softs with the 'vette on hards, so the bug time it was. That put me P13/18 on a mixed grid of mostly DR/A and B with a few Cs and Ds thrown in. SR/S and A.

Race gets going and I have to deal with Murray's when auto drive cuts out. So far so good... then I get slammed from behind into the sand at Hell Corner :banghead:. By the time I get back on the track and moving forward I'm P18 with a 3s gap to P17 . With a bit of care trying to stay on the black stuff despite the clouds of dust that block your view, I pitted on lap 5 in P12.

I left the pits P15 and went back to just focusing on keeping it on the track. I finished P13 with a 5s penalty which didn't count because the race timed out as I was headed towards Murrays. I had no penalties till lap 7 where I tapped a wall after getting disoriented from the dust and went wide. The 'vette wasn't a bag buggy around the Mountain.

SR went up by 7, DR dropped about 80. Final race tomorrow night will be the 911. The GT-R seemed to be the favourite choice in my race. Another day above DR 1 .

Saturday morning racing on the Nordschleife.

8:50 am race. I'm starting on pole. The Argentinian behind me bumps me wide at Flugplatz, then bump passes me through the turn, 2 SR Downs for me as I hung onto the edge instead of going off. He crashes later yet at the end he's caught back up while I'm having a clean battle with an American. The Argentinian intervenes and hits me 3 or 4 more times to take the win. For some reason he's immune to the penalty system, ends with a white S while I get the red S and -4 SR. This game is really teaching me to dislike Argentina in particular.

9:10 am race. Starting on pole again witth Equador behind me, B/B driver. His quali is 11 seconds slower and he falls behind before any contact can happen. Easy 3 star victory. Equador advances to SR.A, well done.

9:30 Starting 2nd behind an American, in front of the Argentinian from the first race. The Argentinian bumps me off twice in the first section. One time I get a 3 sec penalty the other he gets 2. He 'makes' the pass. Then an American hits me from behind through flugplatz and goes off. 4 sec penalty for me. I finish in 3rd, report the Argentinian, lose 15 SR, into SR.A now.

9:50 Pole in front of Equador from race 2. Triple star win with 15 sec lead. Is this what racing with qualifying is all about. Get bumped off in SR.S, get easy wins at lower SR... I get a lot more close and fair racing without qualifying. Back to SR.S
