I like the races this week, especially Race B. I usually take my Vergölst-Scirocco since this is „my“ Group 4 car (I rarely take the META).

And over the last 4 four races (usually do only one or two a day and don‘t have time every day) I managed to get back to about 2700 DR (after a low of 750 last week). SR also started to increase — until today).

I got trapped by an optimistic Driver in the chicane of death: +3s (fair, I should‘ve backed up). But the next lap a guy in his Huracan tried to pass me outside the fast right-kink at the end of Sector 1. Now the Scirocco has a tendency to understeer and so I pushed (not bumped) him out when he was at my side but still behind: another +2s for me.

Now my SR is down to A at 77. I haven‘t been there since I started racing in Sportsmode. But as I said: I will continue to race as I do, no matter what happens to my rating (Disclaimer: that‘s not intentional aggressive driving!)

Let‘s see what happens in the next Episode of „Ben drives waayyy to fast car without wearing his glasses“.

@Pigems @Oshawa-Joe Thank you, guys. :) You're generous fellows. I live in a little one-bedroom apartment (The home prices in California are far beyond anything that could be considered reasonable). I'm not actually the guy in my avatar picture. I think he probably has a house. I won't be able to do any building where I'm at. I'll just go blow some coin. I also have a bunch of gift cards that are collecting dust. 👍

As a Dragon Trail Seaside lover, that was a great time to re-grind my stats. Had to play in sport mode for 5 months because I had no motivation to grind my stats...
Started yesterday night, played all night and now again still going up.

Now I pray for Blue Moon Bay Speedway Gr.3 combo next week and I will get to A+

outrageous home prices... try Vancouver or Toronto LOL. Last I looked they were triple Southern Cali.

how do you guys race barefoot? It totally bothers my feet, I have to wear a slipper or something.

That's my son. I wear light shoes.

Yeah, even a modest bungalow 30 min east of Toronto is north of 500k now.

@WheelmanSteve door numbers are most probably sorted alphabetically, which means that for example DR 7600 will get a lower number than DR 75000. It’s best not to pay attention to this “ranking”.

F :(

Hmmmm

So if your number is 1 you have the highest amount of DR going in?

So to gain DR you have to finish ahead of anybody numerically lower? If I'm number 02 and Im 3rd place on the grid while Number 01 is 4th place, the only way for me to gain DR is to win, if I don't finish ahead of everybody except #01 I lose DR and to gain SR I need to be in front of 01 without anybody else in front of me so I dont lose DR.

If Number 01 its a lose or nothing situation.

Win and get nothing or lose and take a DR hit

For gaining DR I look at who's got the same DR rank as me or higher buy B is a wide rank didn't k ow if I could tell if they were above or below me within the rank

@K3Tuning actually...no. The door numbers are based on DR not in numeric order...because that would make sense...but in alphabetic order. So, 6,000 gets a higher door number than 60,000. Obviously putting numbers in numeric order would be silly.

Six Thousand
Sixty Thousand

In a dictionary the “y” would place sixty later in order.

One Thousand comes ahead of Ten Thousand.

That’s my understanding of it anyhoo and would be delighted to be corrected by someone who can tell us there’s a more logical order. Since it is PD then it makes even less sense when explained which is why most sane members just say “ignore it”.

You mean, you’re not Ricky Bobby?? :eek:

Now worries man, Consider it a standing offer just in case you ever have a change of heart/location in the future. :cheers:

Edit: I’m not the guy in my avatar either, I Golf left handed. :D

Hey, it's not just me. I suspect the same is true about Sven.

The facial expression is accurate while I'm racing :lol:

If your number is 01, your numerical DR alphabetically sorts after everyone else's

So it could be 9 or 99 or 999 or 9999, those all come before 10,000 and up (max is 75,000)
I don't know what sorting method PD uses whether 9 comes before or after 90. Normally the shorter word comes first so it would be

10000 -> door number 6
88 -> door number 5
880 -> door number 4
89 -> door number 3
9 -> door number 2
90 -> door number 1

So you see, it only makes sense if everyone is DR.B or higher, 10000 to 75000.

Even then, finishing above or below your door number doesn't mean you will gain/lose DR. That entirely depends on your finish position and average DR value in the room.

Suppose you have 10 entries, all have 20K DR, except yours is 30K. You have door number 1. According to the math used you gain 80 - ((30-20)/0.5) = 60 points per player you finish ahead of and lose 100 points to every player you finish behind. If you finish 4th you gain 60 DR (6*60 - 3*100). If you finish 5th you lose 100 DR (5*60 - 4*100)

The reverse, all have 30K DR, except yours is 20K. You have door number 10. Now you gain 100 points per player or lose 60. If you finish 7th you lose 60 DR (3*100 - 6*60), if you finish 6th you gain 100 DR (4*100 - 5*60).

Everyone has different DR of course so it's impossible to say where you need to finish to gain DR, it all depends on the finishing order. Finishing in front of higher ranked players is good, finishing behind lower ranked players bad. DR resets, alt accounts and idiots like me all mess with the system.

But if it’s a 1st Tuesday in March on a leap year and the wind is blowing from the east then the door numbers are ordered according to RAL number of the paint on your car...in reverse order.

The door number conversation always makes me feel like this guy-->:ouch:

My avatar is an accurate representation of my driving ability. Right down to the grey bit between the legs I never got around to changing after the background colour changed.

Thanks for all the info and replies fellas, it’s much appreciated! :)

I’ve been searching the internet for racing books this morning on break and have come up with these one so far, I’m gonna try the first one first, it sounds like the most interesting and informative one. I haven’t read a book since elementary school so this should be interesting lol. I can read on the internet for hours but books make my head hurt for some reason, but I’ve gotta try something. I want to get to the next level and I’m determined to get there! So if books are the way, then that’s what I’ll do. :)

A few years back I looked over the books you have lists and picked up Going Faster. Great book that I can definitely recommend.

Using my kudosprime stats I'm averaging 20 hours per week on GT Sport. I hear about it all the time from the wife, and when I do, I feel like quoting Andrew Dice Clay.

I tried 5 races on DT: Seaside. All 5 bumped, rammed, punted off at some point. The S in SR.S stands for 🤬 Beware the backfield in the daily B is terrible. The worst is though when the top gets dirty, falls back and has to get back to the front at all costs. One race had a car barging around with 10 sec penalty flashing.

Suzuka then, one race where I don't get bumped off or pushed into a wall would be nice.

Suzuka, got rammed off about 6 times, blocked by penalty serving cars. It's a disgrace. I'm going to reset my SR to E again, screw SR.S.
