Took a litle head start to next week race C. First time on Autopolis, had about 10 laps before these ones.
Just a suberb track, very tecnical with fast tightening corners and down- and uphills. Just Love it, and with my favourite group of cars.
NSX GR2 BOP on Racing Medium tyres.

... This coming Wednesday is the Season 5 finale and I'm working on a special endurance event for the week after but if I don't it will just be a practice week before Season 6 starts the week after that.
Wish we had this in Australia ???

And with this new track (thanks for the demo):

[/QUOTE]

It seems to be a Chinese track. Heaps of marshals. 13 people in the mega stands.

When I race in GTS, it seems no one wants to come and watch me.

By playing into this knobs behaviour, you only enrage, and encourage their online habits and they will never learn
Kind of a polarizing point of view. Pigems isn't dirty. He isn't talking about starting trouble. If someone else throws the first punch, a counter punch should be considered justifiable. I did about 15 races yesterday, and only hit one car, on purpose. A couple of minor contacts don't bother me, as I assume they were driving mistakes. It's usually best for everyone to just ignore it and move on. I only hit the guy after he hit me about 10 times. To me, it's self-defense.

While I respect that your point of view preaches pacifism, the penalty system alone, is often not enough of a punishment to discourage some of the bullies that we have to race with.

I really enjoyed Gr.4 at East Tokyo the last time it came up, that was the one that came down to Lamborghini vs. Porsche most of the time. As much as I'll stick to that and Gr.4 at Suzuka next week (and nice as it is to have a real race I can enjoy), PD... lads, there are other tracks in the game. Try them once in a while.

Great now I have Hall of the Mountain King by Grieg in my head. :banghead:

Try driving Nurb with that in your head.

I usually have "Aces High" running through my head when doing Nurb :sly:.

I believe the phrase is "two wrongs don't make a right". :p

The other thing is if everyone gave a passive response then the cheaters would win every time.
Originally coming into racing games I was a non contact player.
Now, I have enough experience to discern blatant dirty moves. Those moves will be met with a calculated response. Like this week one guy dove on Griffins. Obvious intentional bad move in a 99 sr room. I saw him do the same to another player ahead of me. I waited until the best time and dealt him a blow he would not recover from.
After the race, I checked his stats and clearly he was dirty. I will never ever behave this way unless I am 100 percent sure that a person is cheating.
Things happen and people make mistakes, everyone does. But I will not allow blatant cheating to go unpunished and when I do take action I make sure it’s in the right place on the track.
Breaches of etiquette like blatant cheating by punting should not go unpunished or else the behavior is reinforced.

Daily B was pretty decent in the afternoon. No poles, still a couple wins, many second places, DR up to 47K now.

There were some trouble makers of course. One bump passed me ruining my chance for a victory when I was right behind first who had a penalty. He didn't take the win either as he messed up later. When I saw him again he was on pole. I simply stayed right behind him all race to pass him on the straight. Not risking getting bumped off again. Sure he swerved, tried to push me off when I was passing then tapped my rear to unsettle my car, can't stop me. When the gap is only 0.5 going onto the straight, you have been beat. (Unless there is another car ahead, draft range is quite extreme)

Next race same thing. He was over driving now trying to get away from me, so he had 2.4 sec of shortcut penalties as well. He let me pass easy this time. Then it seemed like a third victory was in the cards, same thing again, except I got punted by the car behind me, oh well.

I don't understand people that try to overtake right before the straight. I had another one sticking noses in everywhere slowing me down, yet he didn't manage to make a pass. Meanwhile first runs away of course. Tired of his draft nosing I slowed down a tad extra 4 corners before the straight and yup he pushed / rubbed through my inside. Sure go ahead. I passed him again on the straight. He left the lobby right after.

Watching your replay, there is a noticeable delay in between when you release the throttle and apply the brake. Are you braking with your right foot? You need to tighten that up.

Got the game a couple of days ago. Today I won my first race. Race C with the Audi.
The circuit trials are a godsend. Went from 2:13 on thursday to 2:05.9 today. Good enough to get a pole even.
What was weird tho, in the race I won. I was first with a 10 sec advantage. After pitting, the advantage shrunk to 3 sec. Idk what happened, I didn¡t screw up my laps or anuything. And the other guy never caught up. I managed to put 2 fast laps back to back and kept the distance.
Anyways, loving the game so far. Using motion control is so much fun. Can only imagine playing with a wheel.

I guess pole position puts a target on your car. Worst race I've been in all week. Lost about 1000 DR. Thanks.

Next race. Pole. Me and 2nd distance ourselves cleanly. Good fight, thought he had me, won by .042 or some such. So I guess it isn't every room.
The draft is too strong for someone 4 seconds slower than me to keep up, I did back to back 8.30.8xx.

You chose.....Poorly. ;)

Not even Canadians can be polite all the time. :)

Canadians aren't polite. Far from it!

In the 15 years I've lived here, they just come across as meek.

It's very annoying.

But I digress, playing the games of a dirty driver will only cement their attitude that it's OK to be dirty. But this is PD's problem, and one they don't seem to want to either acknowledge or fix, which is a real shame!

There are several possibilities. One is that he double stinted the tyres and only picked up fuel. Another is that he was better than you at conserving fuel and didn't need as much fuel when he pitted. the other is that he managed to get from the track to pit lane faster than you. Of course it could also be you arn't paying your pit crew enough and they went into go slow mode.....

GTP, we are almost all for your mentality. BUT - the game demands you behave badly.

For instance, if you want to have a win - and if you are SR 99, then the group you will be put in will be in order of SR - they'll likely all be 95 to 99. And then, they'll be sorted by qualifying speed. So ... you'll be back in the group, unless you're very quick in qualifying. You cannot win a race from there. I started a new account, and I've been in the first three on the grid every race. But in front, I have had S rated, A+ with qualifying times of 7:57 etc. at the Norschleife. No way can I get a win on SR 99 as a "B" driver.

So, if you are let's say 5th on the grid - and someone touches you in the back of your car at the first corner - you get a time penalty of 2 seconds. And your SR takes a hit. Now, if you push the guy who pushed you - your SR takes another hit, but you get by him. So you get a big hit in SR, but you earn more DR points. The next race, you'll be on the pole with weaker drivers behind you, because your SR took a big hit (your last good scoring race) and the slower drivers have higher SR because they are mid pack and get hit a lot more. And you'll win this one because your top of the pile with weaker drivers ...

The game is designed for hitting others. Sadly. There has to be a better way but PD does encourage hitting other cars. It pays to hit other cars - you get more point in your current race, and next race, you'll get slower drivers and a chance to win a race.

Left foot brake, never noticed that before. Thank you for the tip, will look into that. :)

Since the A race on Fuji Short has a chance of being the new Supra, I went ahead and gave it a spin. My fastest time at the moment is 1:53.113, and it's definitely possible to go into the 1:52 range. I had BoP on, and the car was running on Sports Hard tyres. BB is at -3.

For those that haven't tried it yet, you need to go easy on the throttle of this car. It wants to become the next Drift King, so easing the throttle is a must.

Here's my best practice lap in preparation for Race C at Autopolis.

That was really good lap you put down. :) Tryed again today, still with NSX. Hate the way that GTR turns in to corners (well, understeers)
Got my lap time to 1:36.652. I'm on my edge right there, but could possibly shave little more off. maybe...

I was bored and found out how Degner Curve (Suzuka) got it's name. Thought some here might find it interesting.

That was a fascinating read. Thanks for sharing it.

I've spent some time this morning learning Autopolis. Actually loving the track, just struggling with the last series of corners. Your videos are helping no end though.

My plan is to learn enough that I can get a jump on others in the early part of the week. Will have to see how that pans out though!

I also tried my luck with Ausuckolis. It‘s what‘s called a Mickey-Mouse-track in Germany: Slow, Quick, Blind corners, Slippery cornes — I don‘t like it. My best lap after endless scrubbing and sliding was a 1:44. I don‘t like it. Since it‘s a race C i see an upcoming bump-fest. This track doesn‘t have any natural rhythm and so I see a huge speed difference between drivers in all the corners. I really don‘t like it.

I also tried the new Supra on Fuji (which probably is the chosen car next week): The same story: slippery, sliding, scrubbing. At least this track combination along with this car allows finding a rhythm. But as soon as you lose traction with that car you‘re unlikely to get it back for the next half lap.

Shame on you PD! The world is bigger that just that silly group of islands in the pacific ocean! G3 on Monza? G4 in Brands Hatch? Citroen-event in St. Croix? Or maybe something crazy like one lap Fiat on Sarthe or an Offroad event. We should organize a community strike and not participate in any daily race.
