Had a couple decent race C's this week.
A couple with @Winnie847 a day or two ago.
He was dominating as usual. Today was in a race with raven ix and de afsun repping his new team name Car_ along with another of his team mates. The race was glitched, i was in fourth and Raven ix in 3rd was skidding all over the place. I slowly got through him and by that time 1-3 were a good 7.5 seconds ahead by t1, but I just plugged away and raced my race. Ended up 18 secs behind De afsun and 15 behind p2-3 by the end. Im pretty happy with that, if it werent for the the glitch I might have even seen them racing for most of it lol.

On another plus I broke the 1'50 barrier and got myself into the top 100 Americas tonight.
I feel like im still losing time and with a bit more concentration could gain at least half a second or more.

Nice work! Best I can do there so far is 1:34.9XX. I’ve tried the Ford GT, Porsche and a GTR. I guess it’s time to try Lexi. :)
It may not be the fastest at Interlagos but I’m just the most consistent with it. It took me a few hours to get the hang of the Ford GT when it dropped and I just don’t like the Mustang. Some guys are using the Volkswagen Vision GT car because of its ridiculous speed but I’d much rather not play at all than use that abomination of a car

Well it's free multiplayer weekend again so that means I get to do "Daily" Races once more.

To start things off, did the Gr.2 Suzuka race with the 2008 NSX GT500 and see if I can do well and the result? Managed to get 5th at best. The fuel consumption was my main advantage for this (in fact it may be possible to do a no refuel run in this car if fuel management is done well).

Just like to note that I was the only guy in the grid where I used a 2008 GT500 car.

Overall car is alright. May even be able to get to first.

The Mustang absolutely destroys the VW VGT. The VW handles well with pointy turn in, but if you get used to the gearing in the mustang it is a beast, and rides curbs well. It'll do just over 160mph over the line at Interlagos. Takes a few laps to adjust to it though.

Jesus Christ - nobody seem to try a clean pass or a race itself. Last race at (race B) was the worse so far in a long time. I got hit in all directions and they use you in the corners to brake or control their too high speed. I don't know but I was struck at least 10/11 times in last two laps. I couldn't believe it. Nobody seem to care about getting RED SR's!!? :indiff: Isn't it possible to implement something that would really encourage people to make at least efforts to keep a clean race. You can easily see that in the kudosprime Stats that the average driver out there today is at Sr. B. which in my opinion is much too low.

Yes the clean race bonus needs to take contact with cars into account and for online it needs to be 500% rather than 50%, and/or they need to change the SR system so it's out of 999 instead of 99, only the truly clean guys should end up near the top SR then and it may give some clean mid pack guys a chance to get away from the dirty drivers who keep bringing their SR rating down again.

Race B for me tonight. Race matching was a bit kinder to me tonight. With the same time that had me P13/15 last night got me P7/15 tonight. I ran with the Evo. I came within a few 10ths of my M3 time, but just couldn't quite get ahead. I tried the Viper first but try as I might, I was consistently 1s slower.

The race start was laughable. There were a few cars glitching, and auto drive decided to have me rolling backwards when it cut out. I finally managed forward movement and off I went. I was managing to go ok and was on track for another clean race, when I gassed it a tad too soon, put a mm of tyre on the green and got my time penalty. I persisted. The two corners I was having trouble with last night were less of a problem with the Evo.

Lap 4 saw the glitched cars gone. I hung on to the two cars ahead of me, one of which had a penalty. Sadly, so did I . I crossed a hair over 1s ahead of the guy behind me. Fortunately he had a 2s penalty so i kept my position. P6 was the final verdict once the dust had settled.

SR in the blue, DR up a few hundred. Another day above DR 1 :dopey:.

I'm swaying more and more to this kind of approach. Use a huge carrot as opposed to a small stick. Massive clean race bonuses that increase with consecutive clean races. start at 50 or 100% and work up to 500%.

Later night races prove cleaner for me. Tea time and early evening can be a mess, especially at Interlagos with corners that invite idiot moves/divebombs.

I didn’t race at all last night, didn’t even turn the PS on and now I feel like I’m having some withdraw symptoms today haha. I’ll be hard at it again tonight and on the weekend, gotta get into the top 100 times for race A, that’s the goal.

Last night was the most fun i have had in this game. With so many Porsche's it is fun to go with the Aston which has better traction, is calmer on the kerbs and has a TON more power. They are faster in S2 but I pas sand re-pass into T1 and the end of the back straight. In saying that I picked up my only win in the Lexus, first time out.

This is the best group racing i have ever had, though i kept messing up the last turn which i had been strong on all night. But WHAT a race from start to finish, immense.

Then this is the absolute best one on one fight i've ever had, three laps of swapping positions back and forth. i am dreadful into the double right hander and he knew it, i also knew he was taily coming out of the S curves.

@NevilleNobody Nice driving there mate, and by who you were racing against. Times like these that show GT Sport for what it should be, and it feels great to race this close and clean.

Interlagos is fun, one of my relatively new favourites, but my sr got dumped on by peeps behind me bumping me.
Had to take it to race c to improve sr - and it improved FAST. Nothing but green!
Good races you featured @NevilleNobody

How good was it! TBH i am a touch sloppy as i use the D-pad and X and box buttons but we did OK. The Porsche driver in the one on one was outstanding and I thought my pass in the group fight on lap 3 between the Merc and the porsche was as good as one can manage, that could have ended in tears and we barely touched.

It's the best night i've ever had on a video game of any kind.

Ok, I was accused of blocking by the car that finished third (the white Lexus #8). I watched the replay and I don't see it. Yes, I took a defensive line, but that's proper race craft. There is only one point where the driver behind me is even close enough to attempt a pass. Am I wrong?

Timestamp would be useful.

Need a different camera angle for the incident that happened at 4:48 - looks a very suspect defensive line from the camera angle provided.

ya, 4:48 (ish). I included more to show that there were no other moves that could be considered a block. You're seeing all that there is to see, I have about a car length gap and I drove straight to the apex. One move toward the apex.

That's not "blocking". He wasn't attempting a pass. No one is going ot say "Oh my, you are close to me and I see that you wish to pass. By all means good sir, please be my guest and take the advantageous line."

It doesn’t look like a normal line to the apex from the camera angle you’ve given, that corner is a late apex and it looks like you move before the natural turn in - a different camera angle would confirm it.

That is not the apex, you’ve moved from outside to inside during braking across the front of the Lexus, which would be blocking.

@Voodoovaj You are lucky the driver behind you seems to have some skill, most would have hit you swiping across their nose like that. It wasn't an awful move by any means but it wasn't totally clean either and driving like that can lead to accidents if the following driver is not skilled enough or is caught unaware. Next time in that situation just defend the inside early, I've only ever seen a handful of guys good enough to overtake around the outside into that corner, most mess up trying or back out of it.

I agree so much with both of you! Sr up to 999 and you can use same score system as today but may be a bit tighter last 500Sr points. I also feel the Sr and Dr points should go more hand in hand in a way. In order to get up with the Dr. points you should also provide clean racing for it and not the way it is today.
Thank you guy's Cheers

Exactly why a different camera angle us needed and very easy to provide.

I think you would then realise how suspect the move is.

Yes, if they watch it from the hood cam of the driver who is complaining you should see why they were complaining. I probably wouldn't have complained myself, it's something that can happen from time to time and wasn't an intentional block but it was avoidable too.

What a nut, did he think you weren't going to take the apex just because he was behind you and increasing speed from drafting? Online, most drivers don't seem to understand the difference between weave blocking and normal legal blocking.

It's not even blocking though, it was time to brake, they were deep into the corner and the second car is not alongside in any way, shape or form. it's just taking the corner AFAIC.
It really isnt unless driving at the inside wall is taking the corner.

@Voodoovaj can you not provide a chase cam replay of the incident?

Argh. Race C qualified 3rd. Game glithced. Ended up last and given a 5sec penalty for no reason whatsover. Ended 13th but lap 1 i was 45s behind the leader. How is this fun?

Still cant get under 1.53 for a lap, ages of time at the hairpin and spoon for sure. My theoretical is 1.51.

How's he driving at the wall? That's the line you take to get a good exit through the S curves onto the straight. Again, if the other car was beside him i get it, you need to go wide to make a da space, but he was never alongside so you take the corner.
