I haven't raced yet today, well not during day time that is, I finally got some rest instead! I'll be back racing in a bit. I actually did qualify yesterday. New mission parameters, complete a lap without ever touching any steering controls, only gas and reverse. Plus I was on the phone as well, added handicap. That turned out surprisingly tricky. First I got stuck at the container area, back and forth, back and forth, not getting the right angle after a bounce, getting reset backwards all the time.
After a lot of careful bouncing I finally managed to back up through the corner sequence for an easy drive to the hairpin at the pit stop area, where I got dead stuck. No amount of ramming, forward, reverse, run up would help get the car angled enough to get beyond the reset trigger. Finally a light bulb went off in my mind, I still had TCS on 2. TCS 0 did the trick, sort off. It still took a lot of trial and error to get the car spun right and get quick enough on reverse (car still has perfect traction control in reverse btw) to Work it into the pit entry corner and finally far enough around to beat the reset point.
Triumph, the rest of the track was easy. Finally after 36 minutes, 20 seconds, one completed phone call and 42 minutes, 25 seconds in penalties, I qualified without steering! This game is too easy, what do you need a wheel for
Actually I wondered if you could go beyond an hour. Yes, you can and the time still fits (barely) in the grid line up. Any potential wrap around point won't occur until almost 600 hours (where a 32 bit integer turns negative in milliseconds). I don't have that much patience. I could rubber band it next week and see if a 10 hour qualify time still fits on screen
TLDR GR.3 Tokyo South inner loop is not holding my attention as much... Needs GR.1!
