My last race was a nightmare in the backfield, two penalties from reckless drivers. Luckily only -3 SR for the race, however timed out right before the finish. A no stop Peugeot 908 won with Mazda and R18 following. The Peugeot was driving by a world star though, best lap os 3:22 in race. I'm still struggling to reach 3:32 :ouch:

I decided to brave going back into Sport for a go last night. Did race A, started from the back (9th), finished 7th and still have a massive DR haul of.... One. Never mind, SR went up a couple of points to 95
I don't get how on the starting straight the other cars pull ahead quite quickly (my starts are quite reasonable). They are (well, seem) faster. How?? There's nothing to adjust....

Well the old TT just isn’t the same now, I believe this is the first time I’ve driven it since the update and she just undetsteers so badly now it’s useless pretty much. 1:42.0 is the best I can muster with her. optimal is 1:41.7 but I don’t think the TT is gonna be the car to bring the whole thing around. Viper wasn’t any good, I’m not sure what to try next, the TT was always my go to Gr4 car lol. Hmmm...

They need to bring back the Audi R8 for the group 4 class. Sad to say the TT just isn't fast enough.

The LM55 is no good for no stop. I started in FM2, increased it during the race, last 1.5 laps in FM6 praying to make it to the end. I had it as another fuel efficient car but I guess it got changed. TS050 won that race, I finished last. What didn't help is that I crashed into the wall twice at the first chicane as my brake marker is too hard to spot on my old tv. It's just a motion blurred mess shooting along.

I'm going to see how much time I lose in a pit stop with the R92CP, and if I can even beat my lap times with the TS050 in the R92CP.

Hmm, I'm getting pissed off with Sarthe already. Some dude kept hitting me from behind, SR Down, SR Down, SR Down, SR Down, SR Down, -14 Sr for the race. He gets away with a blue S. One time I got a penalty when he messed up his overtake.

R92CP is out, it's a SR Down magnet, no point in driving it anymore with this penalty system. It was fine when it was the meta, now it's just a target. I drive about the same laps as in the TS050, however the R92CP has about a 23 sec loss from the pit stop needed to run at full power. Ergo, pointless.

Oh crap, forgot to change the car when I re-entered :banghead: One more R92CP run then.

That one went slightly better, I still had +4 SR left after the behind bump SR Downs. SR 89, 6th place finish, a R92CP won this one. I did a no stop in the R92CP as I'm only 2 sec per lap slower while fuel saving, and a pit stop adds 23 seconds.

Enough for today, it's too dirty/messy in the back, not much racing going on, just trying to survive.

WooHoo! 3:23.3!! I love this car on this track, it’s just plain fun. It’s too bad it’s not good for the race, how’s the Toyota drive compared to the R18? Basically the same or no?

Nearly won without qualifying.

Thats a weird reason to want a car given all vehicle performance stats for gr4 are made up, and BOP altered for each update anyway.
Given there are plenty of MR cars like the R8 in Group 4 that are much slower than the TT Cup, there's nothing to suggest what the performance of the R8 would be better than the TT if it were added.

Just ran half a dozen race A. It's weird, I am gaining 200 to 39o dr points per race but not getting much actual racing in.

The track limits are insane, really ruins it, I dont care about the amount you can use the run off but the inconsistency drives me nuts, I really dont know what is and is not allowed.

Are you using TCS? I drove it on TCS 2 and it felt fine.
I'm on TCS-0. Not really a problem there. It's on the brakes and off throttle that are giving me problems. I put the brakes at -5 and that helped alot, and the off throttle turn in helps in T2-3, but I really need to be carefull on initial turn in. When the rear unloads it wants to go sideways. I was happy to get below 57, but I may have screwed myself with my grid positions. The one race I entered I gridded 3rd right behind koifishy(?). I know I've seen him on here, and he's fast! He did a mid 55 in the race and finished 2nd. I got 4th but finished 12 seconds off the lead I think. I watched the replay from his car, and he was definitely dealing with the car's issues better than me. I'm thinking I may need to start left foot braking, because he was working throttle and brake at the same time on all the corners that give me trouble. I did a bunch of low 57's when I set my Q time, so I figure if I can get consistent at that pace, or maybe high 56's, I may be able to get some podiums with some luck.
I ran some timed laps in arcade mode with BOP on to try some cars at Fuji an Sarthe. I had so much fun last week running from the back that I think I want to keep a race open for that. Probably Fuji since I'm not real fast there anyways. Tried the lambo, and it works well. I'm gonna try the Vantage, the Cayman and the Alfa. No front drivers for me! Tried the Toyota hybrid and managed a (very sloppy)3:30. I think my eyes are letting me down. May try the roof veiw and see if it helps. I like my mirror though. Damn GR1 cars are crazy fast!

Edit:^^ @Pigems I saw that coming after the way you were lapping in the Shelby!

I finally managed to figure out the old TVR a little bit, scored a 56.2 without going off on the final turn, only the first one. The race might as well be on ice, throttle control is everything.

Absolutely skating, no way is it realistic that the GT350 handles that much better than the Speed 6.

Yeah man I just tried Lambo and it definitely lets you get on it way earlier without spinning at all compared to before when it was a spin machine. I can’t get the timing of the gears down yet though but it’s a much improved car. I’m a second slower so far with it but it might be the one if I can get the gearing downs :)
Try the GT-R as well. The Lancer isn't as strong as the Huracan and GT-R down the straight. However the awd cars are strong out of all corners and especially, the final sequence of turns.

Well friends,
I have shown my true talent level in attempting to figure out the race A car. I thought eh I will try it maybe I wanna buy one...
I can’t figure out the handling, plus I’m horrible on that track I don’t even know where to be. For me, can’t do that combo.
Fuji makes me dizzy and I’m horrible there.
Race c I like the c9 the best of what I have, but I don’t know the track with chicane...Maybe by weeks end I will enter that one...
Last week was great gr3 at a favorite track. This week, oh no I suck again.

@GT5Power , you’ve dropped to 10th. Shape up :lol:
Haha I don't think I can go any faster than that :p My optimal is probably in the 40.8 or even 40.7 range, but I don't seem to be able to string together a perfect lap. I actually spent an hour yesterday trying to get first place after getting second until a Spaniard put in a 40.7 and I called it quits

Edit: The world's fastest has a 40.4 now...

So, did three runs last night and yeah, Simply can't pull it off with the Porsche. While it may have a better system then the Toyota, it seems to not be able to go the distance while on pace or can but has to conserve fuel for about two laps before you can actually push to the end.

Gonna see if the good ole 'yota can work its magic again. This is the car afterall where I was able to do this with no conserving whatsoever.

First run tonight and yep, the Toyota is by far the better option for an all-out, qualifying laps style No-stopper then the Porsche 919. Best part is despite the tire wear, I managed to stay in distance of the Peugeot in front (who was clearly conserving the last two laps). Its not a straightaway machine but it'll get you to the end without conservation of any kind.

I have a theory. My SR has been lately typically been an S, but last week I got a 29 SR penalty, down to 55. The race before i had gone from 99 to 85 SR. When I raced the next day, with SR 55 and a "B" SR, and fearful I'd be re-set, I ended up with slower cars. I won 6 races and had a second, a slower car I let through. Would have had 6 clean races stars too but after the 4th win, I spun coming out of the 180 degree turn on the last lap going for a good time, before the Schumacher straights - I was 8 seconds ahead. No problem but I lost the silver bonus, but still got 5 SR. But if your not up the front, then amongst B SR cars, I reckoned I risked loosing more SR and being re-set.

So I reckon its easier against B drivers if your qualifying is good, you just need to escape them. Not exciting but it was a relief for me. But very nice compared to being in an all A and A+ race with all Japanese in their peak driving time, and me with cars always within 0.4 seconds of me, and terrified of my SR and knowing they planned when to get inside me or tap me in the rear. That was pressure.

With the easy races my DR victory points kept halving and by the end, a win was worth only 180, and I thought next race it would be 90 DR. But then I got into better drivers, lots of S drivers and A+s etc. That was when i recovered to an "S" SR. I let through someone early on fearing being punted, and I got a 7th and 506 DR. I then quit, much relieved.

Enjoy it while it lasts, keep away from those guys!

The Toyota makes it without conserving, yet I get passed by about everyone on the straight. I'll give it one more try. The positive, I'm faster in it than in the R92CP while conserving fuel. The acceleration and faster cornering make up for the low top speed. In the last race I did, LM55 and R18 made the top 3.
I'm seeing the same thing - everything passes me down the straights, leaving me running near the back of the field. I'm running flat out, no stopping, no fuel saving, but every race I've entered has had TS050s in the top 2 positions, can't work out what they're doing different!

I haven't raced there yet/if, but maybe they are using softer tyres?

Tried a round at Suzuka before the reset. Total carnage...but finished with a consistent pace.

Went in a round of Race C today with just under a minute to go, started P12 without a laptime on a 919, ended up P4 with a 0 stop strategy. Unfortunately, got quite a few shunts and corner cutters that escaped away. That kind of cost me some SR but I had to keep my fuel level in check.
Running a 919 might be tricky since I've got to be running on lower power all the time, maybe a small boost in fuel map down the straights and conserving fuel. I should test it out on the thrift TS050 perhaps in my next run.

The key for me in the Toyota is to be massively aggressive, every corner is win or lose for your race, if you're behind you need to get into the slipstream before the other cars drive off into the distance. If you're ahead you need to push for a gap, anything less than 1.5s makes you a sitting duck or allows the quick cars to sit behind saving fuel. The hybrid boost is crazy on the Toyota, you can pass Mazda's from half a second back on the straight between Indianapolis and Arnage!

I gained 7k DR points yesterday through being an annoyance.

I had a night at Fuji last night, which was fun. All the tracks and combos are new to me so I spent a good 30 minutes learning the track, TCS off, and in MT, after looking at the leaderboard, I chose the Huracan.

I managed to get to a 1.44.8, which I lowered to a 1.44.4 after moving the brake bias back as it was understeering a little, then I raced for a while, and manners were pretty bloody atrocious I have to say, I had one really good race where 6 cars were fighting for the same piece of road for the whole race, which I came out on top of purely because I could see that I was the only one not carrying penalties so I picked up 4 spots but that was only for 6th place.

Then I got punted out of the lead in 2 successive races whilst really struggling for pace on the straight, and got really angry with some Russian who punted me wide in T1 and then jammed on and practically parked on the apex of T2 as I was much faster there causing me to to have a major off to avoid losing all my SR, he left the lobby before I could call him out as it was pretty terrible driving and the first time I have felt the need to call anyone on deliberately terrible driving.

Tried to focus on my quali time to get away from idiots like that but couldn't get my time lower and the Huracan is very vulnerable on the straights and I got so annoyed I was on the verge of just leaving it and going campaign for a bit, I was really losing time during the slower corners and the correlates to what was happening last week too.

So, I adjusted the wheel sensitivity and immediately went a second a lap faster, got my time down to 1.43.4 but just as importantly that was after leaving at least half a second in turn 2 and 3, so theres a 1.42 in there somewhere on that setting, hopefully more if I add in more sensitivity. I cant believe its taken me a week to even consider wheel settings :dunce:

Went back into racing and finally got another win 👍, using my new found confidence I stalked the race leader for 2 laps until he outbraked himself into T1. Happy days, maybe I wont quit afterall

That race just then was so unruly, I typed "Savages" before I left.

Started 2nd. Auto Drive was pegged in 1st gear(Atenza). Was getting passed by the 3rd place 86, at T1. Gave that player room. Got divebombed by a C7. Get swamped by maybe three cars in the hairpins to the final turn.

I just smashed a Huaracan that barged its way into one of the corners(no penalty for me or it). Lap 1!

Shenanigans ensue during Lap 2. Finally get some relief during Lap 3.

Caught up to that Huracan in 3rd. Too much inside curb for me at the (Short)right-hander. 3.5 seconds.

Just rode that red dot special to the finish. Dropped from 4th to 7th. Just a dumb race....

@Sven Jurgens or anyone else, What kind of times were starting where last night in race C? Is the Toyota TS050 the only car that can go the distance without fuel savings? How much disadvantage is it at on the straights? Thanks in advance for the info. :)

That was like a lot of the group 4 races I was in last night. A LOT of bad manners and I found the penalties inconsistent too which adds to the frustration. I got hit coming out of the final turn completely out of nowhere car whacks bonnet first into my door (I had taken a wide entry), he then spins off the track and I get a 4 second penalty!!
