I need to do it in small doses though cuse the fact i can't seem to figure it out is getting me pretty irate:censored: i can't accept it though so i keep going back. According to where certain people are on my list, i should be able to hit a low 2.15 at least. I just don't know how

Also, @Sven Jurgens, I met you at La Sarthe the other day on my smurf account where I did a couple races from the back no qualy SvennoJ style. I won't give away the name just yet though! We had a good time working our way up, I'll just leave it at that.

I had a bunch of great races working my way up with other people. It's getting more popular all the time! I've done that race so much my total count for Sarthe is at 331 races (and another 122 for the no chicane version)

I doubt I'll ever get a wheel. Besides the space issues, driving my own car is still very uncomfortable. Anyway I'm trying to get used to MT atm, dropping DR at an alarming pace. I guess I'm shifting too early as the car still accelerates while the indicator is already flashing. Playing with sound might help lol. However the kids are home, snow day again, argh crap weather.

Btw... i know it's off topic but it seems more than a couple of us our from Ontario. Which is about to get pummeled againg with a mixed bag of garbage weather for the next two days. Including up to 40 cm of snow. So please, everyone be safe out there

How the HELL do you play with kids awake in the house. Absolutely no idea how you pull that off in regards to concentration or the wife going bezerk because the kids are humping her leg and you're playing a stupid game.

And this weather is rubbish, as an aussie, this is a great country but the weather is absolutely first rate rubbish. Either humid, or freezing or wet or freezing or cold or blizzard ... man there must be 10 half decent sunny clear days all year.

Random afterthought about Gr.1 BoP from last week: The Gr.3 oval BoP apparently changes the cars' gear ratios too besides boosting their horsepower to ridiculous numbers. Maybe they should consider doing something like that for Sarthe No Chicane to prevent the next race there (probably coming soon™) from turning into a one-make with the R92CP? 💡

Oh dear, I'va had a nightmare of a C race. I thought I had read somewhere here that the Megane was a good option for this gr4 endurance and went for the Megane Trophy. What a mistake .
I only managed to qualify 17th out of 20 so it is fair to say, this is not a quick car around Nurburgring GP. Yesterday I had connection issues and was disconnected from a race, resulting in a Fair Play rating C today .

I spend 9 laps just trying to avoid what the worst players in Europe had for me. The Megane allows for good corner exits , but the straights on this track are just too long for the car, and I couldn't take away from the pack.
The good point is that it virtually does not use tires at all... after 5 laps my tires were still very fresh but I had to stop for gas.

In the end, with all the idiots around the track burning through their tires and collecting penalties, I placed 6th , with one of the slowest cars for the race.

Suds is about 3 hours from me. KL is a mining town similar to Sudbury, except a lot smaller, and we normally get a lot more snow.

I just read that out to the missus. I usually have to wait ‘till midnight so I can sneak in a lap before bed.

Anyway, you know sod all about cold, damp and humid ‘till you’ve spent the 9 months of winter in Ireland. I have friends from Norway and Canada who admit that plus 5 Celsius here feels colder than minus 30 back home.

I’m enjoying race C today. Fastest in the GTR so far. Huracan was close. Pitting now because I lost too much time trying to fuel save. Running faster with pitting. Was third in the last race and about three seconds back from first when I coasted across the line...but it was only lap 8!! Lol

Finished 9 seconds back. Still in 3rd.

have a look at the top 10 videos. maintaining momentum is key and being aggressive with some of the kerbs. there are some hills that this car wont accelerate up LOL (hill after 1st chicane) so getting good corner exit speeds is important. I am down to 2:11.3xx which is 36th in NA at the moment.

I only managed to qualify 17th out of 20 so it is fair to say, this is not a quick car around Nurburgring GP.

I won with it yesterday. Not quick over a lap but for a no-stopper it is great because tyre wear is excellent and it's great on gas. Maybe wrng but i would be that with an AT is has the least drop off in times from lap 2 to 9 on a no stopper.

The TT, by comparison, was abysmal, by lap7 it was fried and used way more gas, FM6 anyone?

Fish outta water story, two of em. 4 aussie guys in Ireland, first time oversees.

It's mid summer and we are driving, we turn the radio on and the announcer says it's a "balmy 16 degrees" ...... we dead set died laughing.

A few thousand beers were consumed by three of us (except the driver), we were driving from Dublin to Galway, "Across the whole damn country" ..... we figure this will take a solid day of driving. I pick up a map, and yeah had had a few..... but it said we were nearly there after like 2.5 hours.

No one believed me, and I mean no one, we damn near drove off the edge of the country.

Im over here im Raincouver and spend all winter in 3 to -3 rainy weather as a landscaper.
Its funny once it gets colder than -5 every once in a while all the sudden it feels warm again as the air dries out. We're in a cold snap now too and have a whole 6" of snow on the streets which is mayhem of course. Good thing Hort school was cancelled today and im about ready to boot up Gtsport here prett quick.

I'm struggling with Daily A but finding the less lifting and less steering input I'm using in the chicanes, the quicker I'm getting.

When you say “lift,” do you mean entirely lift off the throttle and thus leave the throttle input 0% for a moment, or do you mean reduce its input from 100% to a lower amount?

And I was still curious about the other questions that I had, specifically in regards to brake balance and if the time of day that I race is a potential factor for the variety of players I may be matched with, and thus what my qualifying position becomes.

And what about Gr.1 & Gr.2 cars, or higher-powered N-series/Gr.X cars having TCS on? Is it realistically possible to set consistently good times in those sorts of vehicles with it turned off? I.e. is much really lost with TCS being on in some capacity, especially when the IRL cars & drivers use it like Mr. Kobayashi?

I'm in Paris, right on the Grand River. It's one big conveyor belt of floating ice atm. We had an eagle come land in a tree in our backyard about an hour ago. He looked at the river for a bit and said screw that, I'm not fishing in that **** and flew away.

Which brings me to the limits of things, I feel that the track limits feature (aside from places with poorly defined limits) should dole out a warning or two before giving you a time penalty, like real life. Because, I think we can all agree that the time it doles out doesn't really jive with the time gained by crossing the line, especially in places where crossing off track is inconsistent.

Case in point, Nurb GP. Turn 4, if get a HUUUUGE time penalty if you cross too close to the guardrail on the right, yet at the final chicane, the only fast line is to cross off track across both the entry and exit of the chicane (hitting the cones dead on). Makes no sense.

By giving a warning, you can be strict for qualifying, to deter the fast laps that come from being just on the good side of the track limits, while in the race, you don't end up being too harsh on crossing off track by a bit (which happens frequently).

Have the "slow down" pop up say "track limits". First time is green, second time, amber, third time is just a penalty like it is now.

Because, I think we can all agree that the time it doles out doesn't really jive with the time gained by crossing the line, especially in places where crossing off track is inconsistent.

my favorite example of this is Tetre Rouge at La Sarthe, especially in Gr.1, which is one of my fav combos. Back when the track limits were too loose, people were going WAAAY wide on the exit there and only getting like .2s penalty or even no penalty at all. Now that the limits are mostly fixed, or at least improved, it'll still give you a fairly minor (but probably accurate) penalty of about .7s for going wide, but if you make a conscious effort to NOT go wide and lift earlier or brake just a little before turning in and happen to cut the inside line by 1mm, it gives you anywhere from 3 to 5s penalty. I think it's just a basic algorithm that sees two things, you cut the inside (more severe penalty than going wide), and you were going really fast.

The hardest part aside from the death zone is the teleporting you have to do from left to right in the chicane, luckily the Honda comes equipped with a flux capacitor.
