The next 2 weeks

N300 Fuji Short (Japan):
- Because we haven’t seen enough of this track
- Track limits?

Gr.4 Suzuka (Japan):
- It was this or Fuji Short

Gr.2 Autopolis (Japan)

N100 Tsukuba (Japan):
- What we want: a car that we haven’t had before
- What we will not get: a car that we haven’t had before

Gr.3 Interlagos (Brasil):
- Why do we never see any other time of day besides 9:30?

Gr.4 Tokyo Expressway East Outer Loop (Japan):
- Back by popular demand

Why do they always, or at least 98 times of 100, refer to the race as a “motor race”? I’m pretty sure that the people watching knows that the cars have some sort of motor to make them go forward. I haven’t heard any other commentator with English as their native language say “motor race”. It’s just “race”. It doesn’t bother me, I just find it sort of funny

A race refers to a specific type of competition. It does not denote the form of competitor. It could be a bloody horse race for all we know!(Note also that most people refer to a race with horses as a horse race). In some countries the "car" is referred to as an auto mobile, and often refer to auto mobile races as auto racing. In some places the "car" is known as a motor car, and the form of motor sport involving said motor cars is motor racing. Pretty self explanatory really :P.

One big difference I notice racing just about everyone is how I take the karoussel (or however you spell that). I approach right onto the inner banked section while most people go in high to take it like a normal corner, merging into the banked part from higher up. However I find that hitting it right on at the correct speed carries me through better and that's where I usually lose the person behind me and start catching up to the front.

The same for the second banked section near the end. Hitting that right usually gains me a few tenths to half a sec on the person behind me. These banked sections are faster when hitting them low.

The best way for me to get around the Karussell is to go low and hug the inside, practically coasting then punch it as soon as the car is pointing strait at the exit. For the Kliens Karussell again low, brake just before the corner into 3rd (recommended is 2nd) and stamp the throttle and drive through the entire corner.

I had two races at lunch - and what a disaster. SR is S, but the car was vague for the whole race. Could not seem to brake at Wehrseifen (the net cannot keep up anymore) , so I eased over and the guy behind was carrying 1.2 seconds, so I thought, I'll see how things go. First thing he does leaving Wehrseifen is grind along the left side of the road. No penalty though and he hardly slows down. Weird.

But here and there he then spends his penalty a bit down to 0.9. Then at Brünnchen, he runs off the road at high speed, and runs along the grass on the left, all along the grass - he did not seem to brake. So I backed off - he's going to spring out and I'll hit him I thought. He'll cop la heap for that I thought. But instead, the gap opened, and he did not get a penalty. So I catch him up for the main straight, and I'm right behind him, he backs off, I pull next to him but he's suddenly as fast as me ... and another car comes up and soon joins me. We're three abreast going along the super long straight, our engines on full speed with the guy on my left still with 0.9 seconds penalty. Both these Japanese guys are on 5 green bars, I am on probably less then three yellow. probably just half a red bar. Which I guess is why when a guy runs off, and I back off, in fact, he's probably on the black stuff, not the grass. Anyway I get in front into the braking zone, I brake clean and late after adjusting the brakes, and just slow down enough to make the second last corner - phew what a moment - and I get a 6.7 second penalty. No touch - bitumen all the way - no bumps, nothing - and I've been as patient as heck all race. My SR is now A, etc etc, but the worst is, this feels like driving a sim game on an IBM XT, with a 20826 processor and a crap video card.

Sorry PD, I've had enough. This is ridiculous. I'm out of racing GTS until PD fixes this farcical lunacy. See you guys  it was fun until the recent downgrade for Australians. Who clearly do not count. The only way I can object is simply not to play.

First race back, same thing, laggy Brazilian. I know you can read this as you mentioned post race. Fix your connection. Sick of teleporting cars messing up races. 5 sec penalty, -7 SR for your car teleporting through me. Sorry, but it's better to punt you out of the way next time.

You know it's pretty rude to offend someone for something outside of his control. I took the inside on the last straight, no contact, braked on the cone mark as usual, got punted, hit the wall. and you call me a piece of ****? Come on, mate.

I'm sorry to take it out on you, but this is a common experience as you've probably noticed in my posts. At some point I've had enough. It didn't look like you got punted on my screen, I was braking behind you and suddenly your car veered backwards through me, then came back forwards halfway through my car and the car behind, then hit me two more times and I get 5 sec penalty for that. It was probably the lag that projected my car forwards punting you.

PD needs to fix this **** as it's ruining the game.

Sorry for calling you a pos, yet 1 in 3 races end with stuff like this. It's getting ridiculous.

If your means of internet connection are poor, and you’re aware of it, then you’re implicit in the negative experience of other players. And that absolutely is something you have control of.

Yeah you punted me and we weren't even touching bumpers when i braked. But that's ok, it happens, Nordschleife is a tricky place to race since it's difficult, tight and there's the occasional lag too as it appears. Just don't take it on me i try to race clean as best as i can and i never had problems with that before.

Never had connection problems or any complaints about it, SR 99 for most of the time. In this particular race i had three bars (Yellow), i have 100mbps download/upload on optical fiber, i think that's more than enough, anything else and it's just a distance to server location issue which is something i can do nothing about.

Unfortunately the connection issues with the PS4,and GTS i guess, is not necessarily in our control. I had 300Mb and it was great for rverything but still didn’t look like it was great on ps4 so I upgraded to 600Mb and it hasn’t changed a thing with the ps4.

I never touched your car. The punt is entirely due to your client not receiving the telemetry of my car in time. I guess it's simply not possible to race over a physical distance of 10,000 km. It was better when North America and South America had their own servers. I guess the South American server has been turned off as when the regions were joined again I had a couple races on the South American server where I (and all other Canadians and Americans) dropped to 3 bars while Brazilians had 5 bars. It was a laggy mess.

And yeah, it's a difficult track. It's a lot more difficult when cars keep jumping around.

How was your experience when the regions were split? Less lag? Cleaner races? Here it added lower SR to fill the rooms. However that was preferable to cars jumping around.

I don't know, i've playing for a month or so. I've had trouble against players with only one connection bar, their cars indeed get all over the place, it's upsetting really. But i though three bars were enough for a stable game, at least other three bar drivers looks fine to me here on my end.

I'll jump back to that CSA / aid matter for a minute. You can see vids on the tube, how much csa affects. It does not make you alien. (or me atleast..)

Why I started to use it with GR2 cars, got tired of being bumped around by players in corners. It has nothing to do with throttle use, if you are starting to accelerate out of corner and someone behind just touch your rear bumper, you lose it. I have seen on replays, when I'm facing the wrong way, the car behind me has all the redlights flashing in HUD. It's like a train hits you.

Now, not all cars need this, in GR3 supra I didn't use anything else than ABS. In mclaren used CSA, because lift/brake oversteer.
I also find, that the gr2 cars feels more like a real race cars with it.

Like some of you said already, use what you need to enjoy the game..

Shaved off a .5 second penalty at the bottom 90-degree corner at Lap 1. Lost the race by 0.1. Got fastest lap though. :)

Race C will be good practice for the SF19. I say get it in for this week.

We don't really know how the game works and the bars can't be trusted. I know of one driver who always only has one red bar with a ping time of 14ms and looks very stable on the track. I've seen green connections with ping times of over 250ms jumping left and right all the time. The game does a lot of predicting so the cars look a lot more stable then they really are. You mostly notice it in braking zones, car suddenly jumps back a bit, then stalls for a bit mid corner since the acceleration info is stalled as well.

If only PD would take lag into consideration and only 'initiate' contact when it occurs on both clients. It's likely a problem that can't be solved. When you start ghosting laggy cars people will simply drive inside each other which happens already. However giving out penalties when lag was obviously the culprit only adds fuel to the fire.

As you can see here, I'm better off playing with Europe and Japan than Brazil (I'm near Toronto)

231ms, a quarter second delay on everything that happens between us and that doesn't include the time from the backbone to our houses. At the speeds we were going at the end of the straight, that's near 15 meters difference, while people like to draft bumper to bumper within 100 ms of each other...

As you can tell from my posts,i am pretty crap on the track.I tend to race around towards the back of the pack,i dont ruin peoples races and i wont fight against somebody overtaking me if they are clearly faster than me,thats my take on it.Generally most of my races,if you can call them that, have been fun and enjoyable with very little grief, except for last night.:banghead:
Fiat 500 races, did about 5 on the trot got 3 consecutive clean races, finished midpack,no probs.Last race this German player decided to turn it into a punt-fest,i thought the first one was accidental but he went on to punt 4 other players before he gave me a shove.these were deliberate because i saw people in front of him move over to let him pass.Anyway,he comes up behind me,he got a better run of the last corner onto the start/finish straight,i see him close on me so i move over towards the pit wall to give him room,i also dont want an episode going into the first corner.Bang.He rams me,which spins me,no need for it at all,and off he goes on his merry way to punt the next person.Later on around the track hes obviously had an off and hes right in front of me,sorry to say but i punted his ass like a goal kick into the middle of next week! The 3 second penalty i got was so worth it.Sorry but i know it makes me no better than him but it looked like he was only there to spoil the party, red mist and all that its not something i do.Dont hate on me.....................👍

Like I suspected. I just got curious since commentator from every other country says “race”. Like I said, I think everyone watching the race knows that there’s a motor in the cars/bikes. I just thought there was a special reason for them to do it. :)

Race of the week for me. Awesome event. Got spun off and sent from 5th to 8th, but started on RM. Made up 14 seconds to the leaders(one stop) after my first stop.

Second stop, I came out 5th and charged up to 3rd. Almost 2nd at the line!

Two stops with RM tyres is needed? Still at work, so not able to test the race.

No fuel needed this race. So, didn't conserve tyres. I pushed every lap.

If I didn't get spun, a win was possible. My second stop was end of Lap 9. With 3 Lap fresher tyres, I was catching the leader, nearly two seconds per lap.

After my first stop, I caught the leader as he exited the pits and I lead for two laps, by 4 seconds, before my last stop.

The Australians only get three yellow - at best. I've had several races where the players are shown, with Australians having 5 green bars; then when the race starts, the Australians have at best 3 yellow.
Unless I'm mistaken it seems that the pre race grid shows your connection to the Oceania server, the server we only use for FIA races. As soon as we go to the race we then see the connection to the Japan server instead.
I envy the South Americans who at least sometimes used to get a win at the expense of the North by hosting on their end.
Even if we get an entirely Oceania grid I suspect the Asian servers would still get priority at joining us all together.

Just finished Suzuka in my F1 2018 career so race b it is. What are top times around here normally? Going with the SLS, it handles alright but it has plenty of power (406 iirc) for the straights.

This time, I present to you two videos where I had finish on the podium at this week's Daily Race A.
First of all, I started third in this and finished second in this video below.

Then here's my second and last video in this post. I I had the won the pole position, fastest lap and win at this one.

Gr.4 Suzuka (Japan):
- It was this or Fuji Short

Gr.2 Autopolis (Japan)

So, how is Gr.2 so far? Only hard tires? And is the MOTUL the Meta car again? (I really do like the 08 cars, but they cant compete)

Also, Gr.4 at Suzuka sounds like a Huracan event again?

I used the NSX '16 at Race C and got 2 secs behind the 10th top time this morning, but still looooots of room to improve. The '08 cars should be 1sec behind on pace. but if you love them drive them. I will drive the '08 NSX most of the races

Race B atm is a FF layout fest, from what I raced. Pity us that like MR/FR cars are always at a disadvantage at Gr.4

Is it just me or does it seem like qualifying to race tire slide physics has gotten worse? The Supra is slippery but not once in my 25 or so laps qualifying did I go completely sideways or spin out. Go to race and twice in 3 laps I'm totally helpless out of control. It doesn't make sense to me, I'm not that bad a driver. TCS makes it worse.
