I can’t believe that up until today I had no clue that you only had to do one side of a livery. There’s a freaking Duplicate and Flip button right there and I never ever noticed it before. I’ve been using L1 and manually flipping/rotating the decals for the “other side” all this time, I never knew you only had to do one side!!.

Not the right thread for this, but I thought I'd share it here anyway (sorry mods!)

My wife was in a (very minor) car crash today, a guy pulled out of a T-junction and clipped the side of her car as she was travelling along the main road. Only a scrape, no real harm, but is it bad that all I can think of is the orange "SR Down" arrow flashing above her car?

Glad that she's ok! My wife crunched the side of our Sorento in a parking lot mishap and she would totally have an SR down for that. I was driving on the highway a while ago and came up on slow cars and was thinking that there should have a blue flag on the road for slower drivers. LOL!

Yes.

But please upload the video so we can tear her driving apart. :sly::lol:

I hope she punted him at the next turn.

1. Don't worry, you are exactly in the right thread. Nobody wants to discuss real racing - i.e. Race C - anyway.
2. Any info about penalties?
3. Only crash I ever had: Standing at the red light. A woman just ignoring the fresh snow was late braking into the junction. Bump-drafted me exactly centered. Refused any penalty, because no damage was visible. Forgot to ask if she knew Gran Turismo...

Hope you flashed your lights
For all the people that hate it for whatever reason, I turned my L3 to N/A so I will never inadvertently flash my lights at you again.

Don’t feel bad. It was the same for me for a while. I also didn’t know about the depth option that would save me time and layers. I think I had over 200 layers for 1 car lol

At least Inwasnt the only one then.

What is this depth option?

Its depth limit. It just came to me since its been a while. If you put a line on one side, turn the depth limit to 10, it will be on the other side. It doesn’t always work right tho.

Cool, thanks again for the info.

So, what Race is everyone doing tonight? :)

...Damn, i just can't get a Gr. 4 car under a .54 @ Autopolis. It just feels like every car is understeering like hell there. Almost trye'd all cars there, and the best i can archieve is a . 54.4 with the GTR.

If you haven't already tried it, the 4C seemed to click for me. Like you, I couldn't get under .54 in the 4 - 5 other cars I tried. I somehow hit 1:53.1 after a few laps. Being able to push the last few sectors at a greater speed likely helped.

First race of the week is in the books, not a bad race, had a couple good exchanges and wound up with a 5th place finish. :)

@NosOsH ’s buddy Kbonics was in this race, I finished the race nearly touching his back bumper, he also had a good race. :)

Edit: My strategy for race B didn’t work out very well, I figured all the 4C’s would get caught up in traffic and lose their momentum and I’d be able to catch them on the straights in the Lambo but it didn’t pan out that way. It was a good clean race, I just wasn’t able to gain many places. @jaquelinesv was it this race in the Ferrari, we had a good run going too for the first couple laps until a bit of bad luck allowed me get around. It was nice racing with you @jaquelinesv

Off to try race A now. :)

The level of stubbornness in Race C is extreme again.
Even in lower SR S you have to be constantly aware of bad driving and diving.
These guys are just unable to cue through a corner in an ordered fashion.
Every single time I slow down in order to avoid the guy in front, two guys from behind squeeze in left, right and sometimes center, too...

Five quick laps in qualifying (2016 NSX) - 1:31.783.

Got another 25 mins until the next race, so I'll do a few more laps in the Honda, then switch back to the Lexus for Race practice.

Edit. That should have been 1:31.783. Not 1:34.

Now down to 31.238 in the Lexus.

Race A turned out to be a fun one, it featured @TTM and @MattJones_e36 starting 1st and 2nd with myself starting DFL. It was a bit of a slow start but I ended up making my way up to 5th by about the half way point. But in T1 on the last lap two guys up ahead had a quarrel and one guy ran the other off the road and got himself a 5second penalty so I ended up finishing 3rd, right behind @TTM and @MattJones_e36 , Great Race guys, that was fun.

I even managed to steal FL somehow. :)

One thing I have not figured out how is how do you get decals on the back of the spoiler in race cars. Does the depth limit work for that?

I also ran into a problem with layers. I put a decal on the side of the spoiler with maximum depth so it appear on the inside of the opposite spoiler strut. Then put a big colored square on top, and the decal I want on the outside on top of that. However when I try to mirror that whole situation the insides disappear. This square to remove the decal on the outside seems to also remove the projection of the opposite decal on the inside.

I'll try to be make it a bit less confusing lol

I wanted to 'clean' the side where the 7 shows and then only have the dragon there while keeping the face on the insides.
(And something else instead of the dragon again)
Putting a blue square on top the face, below the dragon decal, fixes that.
Yet when doing exactly the same on the other side, the insides somehow get wiped.

Sorry, there's probably a better thread for this.

As for daily races. I tried two B races today for the daily workout. Both I got bumped and pushed off 4 or 5 times. First race I escaped with a blue S, second time it was a neutral already from 2 SR Downs getting bumped from behind. So I finished the daily workout with a lap on Sarthe in the SF19 (2 B races was not enough) Back to VR!

I guess the "depth" setting is probably not mirrored!?

Anyway, there should be a setting for projecting from the front/behind/both

You can change the area your looking at when applying a decal if that’s what you mean.

Also, @Sven Jurgens , I’ve put decals on the back/bottom of rear spoilers before. I just swig the camera around so I can see it and apply it as usual. :)

First race of the day, and we're back to B/S. Lovely. Starting towards the sharp of a race makes for a far less stressful 13 laps.

Speaking of sharp ends. My 31.238 puts me 1332nd in EMEA. For now, at least. Pretty sure I can drop that into the high 30's tomorrow evening.

OK, thx, will try next time.
I was not aware that the projection also depended on the camera (if that is what you are saying!?)

Still I think that a simple "duplicate on backside" or "project from front&back" setting would be pretty useful for the wigs - or rather wings.

Is this what you guys are talking about?
