apparently in my last video it was my fault for everything but what the **** am i supposed to do here?


i swear people think im joking. i deal with this **** in at least 75% of races i enter. trying to avoid jittery car then get smashed off anyways even when i leave space but some people think im the bad guy for not wanting to respect cars with laggy connections..

I don't know what you're using, but I go ps4 native ShareFactory for in-game footage or if editing on PC I use something like NCH Suite VideoPad. Both are free and pretty simple to use.

Thanks for the tip! I’m just using my iPhone/iPad, my laptop is so ancient it probably won’t even run newer programs.
 
An interesting day or so....enjoyed some good(wood) results in race C and surprised myself to find I was suddenly DR C with 5460 points! Dizzy heights indeed. Fancying a change I tried Dragon Trail. After 2 last places, mostly, but not all down to bumpers and a QUIIIIT! I found myself returned to reality with 2046 points and DR D, where I obviously belong.

Never mind, more opportunities for massive fluctuations next week.

Doing a little Mt Panorama testing, myself. Normally, the Lambo or some other AWD would be my go to car for Gr.4 races, but lately the Lambo seems to have less lateral grip than it used to, meaning it's just gotten more slippery around corners. I've tested 6 cars so far, and beat the Huracan really badly with my Mustang (I beat it with the Veyron & GTR, too). It may just be a matter of individual driving style. Worth a try. 👍

Gotta roll with -4 brake bias on the Huracan my man. My current best with the Huracan is 2.11.9.

P.S: The aston is a rocket on Bathurst! I believe it has the highest top speed on the long straight and well capable of <2.12!
 
Race C twice again tonight for the last chance.
First one, received the only 3s penalty on the first corner despite having zero contact with anyone while driving slowly and carefully as close to the inside edge as possible. I suspect it's because the 4C that was quite a way behind me didn't slow down despite everyone else braking and the carnage ahead before veering into 458 next to it, so maybe I "caused" it? Who knows. Got another 2s penalty lap I had to pit because an SLS I'd been closely chasing much of the lap braked hard exiting the corner before the chicane, causing me to unexpectedly hit it as I accelerated on exit. It then kept going on the grass, cut the chicane, and then as I was trying to enter the pit it hit me in the side, and boom penalty. Two most undeserved penalties I've ever received, and I've had a fair few that were nonsense. Crossed the line 10th as a result, but by the finish screen was done this had become 13th because 6 cars had disappeared as stuck in the pits for half the race, and randomly emerged spread through the results at the end.
Race 2, Spanish guy in a Scirocco basically spent half the race trying to push anyone around him off, and only getting penalised for it a couple of times. I was a victim of this twice (I had no way to avoid it), before managing to trick him, knowing he was angling across to nudge me off (it was a straight and he coasted leaving a wide gap the side I was coming up on), slowing and dodging so he launched himself into the grass (which gave me an SR down but whatever, meant he sank to the back). Ended up as a frustrating race, finishing only 10th when I'd spent much of the race before this Scirocco initially shoved me off around 6th. SR sank from 99 to 92 across these two races, and DR dropped by about 500. Sad end to what was otherwise a decent week (except for TV fails on Friday and my DS4 refusing to steer on Seaside last night, causing my most uneven race ever).

Edit #2: Had no idea I'm not allowed to name the guy in the Scirocco. Seems a bit backwards, surely others should know to be wary if race-matched with these race-destroyers? I know I'd want to know... oh well, fair enough, protect the perpetrator.

It seems pretty dumb to fill a 20 minute window of time with a 7 minute race. Even for the slowest drivers, it should time out in about 8 minutes. Just 1 more lap would make a big difference for the non-qualifiers. It'll take at least the first lap to get past the all the people that wanna crash into each other.

When you had to take a big lift off over the kerbing you had to have known that you were off pace and the guy behind you would be catching up. At that point you could either run a slow defensive inside line to block the apex or you could have conceded the position and taken a late apex turn to try regain position on the esses.

That's not to say that it's your fault. Clearly the other guy, seeing that you fell off pace, should have timed up a better place to pass but I don't expect most online drivers to behave that way.

Nice race, that 19:22 time is quick. To do that with a 1 stop is tricky. Just gotta figure out how to run low 1:16’s high 1:15’s while saving fuel, that would cut another 10sec from that time. Couple aliens have been doing it.

I’ve been trying to do it, but it’s actually more difficult than just going flat out I think. Lot more thought.

Thank you, I had a faster race at the end of the stream (1hour 48into it) but linked the first as i explained what i was doing better, thought it may have been more relevent. I definitely left time on the table also, still unsure if the ferrari was the best overall race car, but was solid for me.

And agree, 1 stopping is a lot easier to manage and do, less thought and just plant it, but I do enjoy strategy in my races more so than just raw pace.

The last Daily Race I did on Gran Turismo Sport before today was when I had just got my racing wheel, last year; I think it was Tsukuba on RX-7s, and it was only my 24th Sport Mode race. I realized I needed to learn to drive with my wheel. I couldn't find the confidence to go back online... until now.

SECOND PLACE AT SUZUKA BABY! TIE FOR BEST RESULT! WOO!

in the Time Trial:
Lap 1 - 258km/h
Lap 2 - 261km/h
Lap 3 - 257km/h(too wide at Forrest's Elbow)
 
So I tried manual gears yesterday for Race C. Yes, short shifting dramatically reduced my fuel consumption, but I always pulled up one or two laps short. I needed to use 6% of the tank each lap, but my average was more like 8% per lap. In the first two laps, I used 15% which is too much. How can I reduce my fuel usage even further without dropping 10 places? How and when should I be shifting? I'm hugely inexperienced with a manual gearbox so any help would be much appreciated.

Just keep an eye on your fuel map. If you’re using too much, shift earlier. It updates in real time and gives good feedback on usage and how many laps you have remaining.
 
I did 2 more attempts to beat my no stop time with a one stop Huracan. First was spoiled by a Brazilian dirty block, who then went wide, came back and pushed me into the wall at the chicane. Somehow the car behind me got the penalty... I've never seen so many people cross the line with penalties. Unfortunately I was stuck t the chicane so the penalties did nothing for my position.

Second attempt, A Brazillian already rams me at the chicane in lap 1. I recover, however when I come out of the pit someone with the CnF tag comes up from behind, I stay right, I'm a little bit ahead still at turn in for T1, he turns into me and bounces off so I get 5 sec penalty... I guess the C doesn't stand for clean. The penalty zone deposits me behind 2 cars blocking each other. Everyone had a blue S at the end, most with red dots. Racing was far from clean.

Oh well, enough of Goodwood. Another track where the penalty system and high SR budget fails to provide fair racing. Back to getting liveries ready for Bathurst. I still entered 42 races on Goodwood this week, yet quit at least 10 or sat them out in the pit due to too much chaos. My interest was pretty much gone by Friday. A week of straight 99 SR ending at 26K DR, about 4K up by only racing from the back. No Stop wins this week because people you pass in the pit don't punt you off at the next corner :lol:

What car(s) are you using again?
Not for nothing, you watch VASC. It applies in the game. I lightly lift off throttle and coast a bit, before the corner comes up. Works for me in the slipstream. With the HUD on for these races, I shift when the HUD shiftbar is halfway. Also listening to the engine. Not much need to redline in most cars. Also, I found overfilling to work for me. Even if you add 0.5 laps to what you normally fill to, it'll help.

Used the Slophy for one race. It has superior cornering to the TT, SLS and WRX I was racing. I'd be so late in braking, coasting in the corner and earlier throttle on exit. This allowed me to be a bit more frugal as I could follow in tow.

Well I've tried the Huracan, GT by Citroen and the 86. The Citroen was the best on fuel, as it ran out at the start of lap 15.

In the race prior, the leading Huracan eats the grass leaving the chicane on the last lap of all laps, nearly spinning us both out. I drop from 2nd to 3rd.

The next race I just play it safe from pole and avoid fighting too much in the first half. For 10 laps it was just me and another 458(third was about 14 seconds behind) till they decided to go lawn mowing.
