I love that kind of weather, ps4 won't turn on because I'm outside cycling or swimming. I was just doing that this afternoon while it was 68 with 35 kph winds. The pool was 74, got slightly sun burned warming up after with a good book. It needs to get warmer here, too cold in the shade.

The ps4 seems to hate to pre-race lobby. It's a good indication that the race has loaded and is about to start. Then it winds down its dual turbine engines when auto-drive is about to kick in. It's how I know when to get up and start racing :)
This gym I go to has a really nice pool. Jusy got out of it not long ago, and I feel much better.

My PS4 sometimes has the jet enginea fire up in the menu, usually while it's idle.
Hopefully the house isn't too hit now so I can get some more times in.

Dive bombs galore...

Edit: Yeah that Megane is seriously OP this week. Kind of making this not as fun as I would have hoped.

2 more cars cleared tonight, the Cayman and the SLS AMG. It was a mess on the track. My clean streak was reset in the first attempt when I got dive bombed in the chase, got knock off and got SR Down for getting hit. This is what I get to work with in the back lol.

The Cayman can go much faster. My best lap in it was 2:15.154, fastest yet, when I got punted off early and had a whole lap to catch up before getting stuck behind traffic again. The Cayman is very sluggish though, no good at quick avoidance, it feels like driving a train. Very planted but difficult to avoid dive bombs or other mess. It took 4 attempts to get a clean race bonus with it.

The SLS AMG is a bit more nimble, still not that great. I did 2 races in it but never had any room to push the car. At least it's much better at avoiding messes, or just cruising and going from 11th to 6th in 30 seconds.

The hardest part between switching cars is the different gearing. The Cayman needs to go down to 2 in a lot of corners while the SLS AMG bounces of the limiter in 2nd in those same corners. Very different.

And with that I'm done for the night. Don't actually feel like doing Race B anymore this week which sucks because I was looking forward to it. Those Meganes are unbeatable. Plain and simple. 4th is nothing to complain about but if there's zero chance to get a victory in every lobby I go into, not gonna bother.

Only half a second off with the McLaren and fastest lap goes to a Scirroco

Meta car, maybe. But far from unbeatable IMO.

The two of them were battling it out so we sort of kept up, especially at the last corner where everyone slowed way up and I actually tapped the back of the McLaren and luckily didn't get a penalty. If it's just me and the Megane's, I can draft all I want, I just watch them drive away.

PD must know the Megane is a Mega car ... (maybe the Japanese think it has to be since it is Mega when you drop the "ne").

So just select Meganes to race Meganes. And leave the rest of fun to the rest of us driving more equal cars.

It doesn't help that I've hit rank A now so I am being put in lobbies with guys that are qualifying in the top 10 times. I mean I think I'm good but I am no alien and I would rather not race against those guys. :p

Cayman has the highest top speed of them all. At Route X vs AI, it is gone. No other car can catch it. Doesn't quite apply to Race B, but just FYI.

Your vehicle looks totally different to the lemonade one preceding, and while the lemonade one is great, your's looks pretty incredible!

But how do I steal a logo, and where would they reside on a PS4? If I made a logo myself, how would I import it onto the PS4? The logo section on the editor looked like a "closed shop" to me. And I was surprised by the lack of logos in the editor's logo area. I did not see a way to import new ones, and from where and how etc etc.

A help site would assist I guess.

This evening I had some time so I decided to try to take advantage of my b race qual.
I used the Mercedes. Race one, haven’t ever raced this car except seaside where I won as a c driver way back.
Brakes a touch different in race. Lost a spot after starting seventh, then had a moment and lost another coming down the mountain. Full a s room. Got punted at the chase by a s American yellow Megan’s (can’t you people be bothered to run anything except yellow...). Banged at Murray’s and stuck behind the pack then punted again.
Boom one race last place down to A sr.
Next race pole position clean race fl back into s.
Now I’m in with the rough s room. Starting 3rd multiple sub 14 qualms behind. Sea of yellow megane. I do well t1 good solid run up the straight saw the s American coming so hung out wide a touch and crossed over. Other Megan’s tangled him since he was bombing in...3rd.
Next race started what seven? Anyhow decent race
Lap two Megan’s punts corvette (sub 13 qual). Corvette falls in behind. On the mountain I get up into second and take it through
Megane tries to take my inside at the chase but runs wide and I cross back over. Ended second.
Next race was good but a South American in a megane gives me a pen when I just hold inside t2 SINCE I HAVE TO GO DEFENSIVE BECAUSE MEGANE IS RIDICULOUS. WE enter side by side, he turns into me then hits wall boom 3 seconds to me...this is final lap...
I lose one spot on the straight and he’s behind, but got two seconds.
I cut the chase quite a bit, not trusting him, then cover inside trying to take it home, but I made a mistake.
I failed to brake check him. So he literally got that damn megane to punt the AMG even though I was standing on the brake. He gets a 2 second but I am. Further behind. I was going to have a word with his ass but he left immediately.
Same clown gives me pen than punts me final turn. That’s racing, should have just brake checked him. I will now brake check anyone going too much inside. IF YOU THINK THEY ARE TRYING TO PUNT JUST STAND ON THE BRAKE EARLY.
In another race I had a Huracan trying to pull bs into the cutting but I saw him and covered before he could get into position.
S rooms are a bitch.
I’m down to almost A sr again dealing with the army of s American megane drivers. I am gonna keep racing b when I have time this week and only go c if I really really need it.
I’m learning better about the s room. In race b if it’s a yellow megane being stupid I will just brake check. You have to anymore. You have to do it and also move wide on entry because they will always try to outbrake you so just crossover when they run wide.
Lol
Down 18 sr? so what? It’s still a fun challenge. I do think the megane needs a nerf though. I’ve had them trying to speed match me on certain turns and it’s not easy but the AMG if taking turns at the limit and they try to follow they will go wide.
The megane has ridiculous power though it’s silly they need to nerf it. All a megane has to do is get a good qual, brake check every slower corner and you are screwed. Then the brakes are so insanely good they will dive every time.
Seems all of s America is driving yellow megane.
I’m gonna start defending much harder. I will also run them off if need be...DAMN THE TORPEDOES!

Strategy for beating megane...When it’s obvious they will dive bomb late, hang out braking a touch and crossover. Brake check if they ride your bumper, and if all else fails run me off or punt em!,,

05Xr8 - Spacedustdaddy - has a trick I think - he re-starts his account somehow. I think it helps not get to race the very top guys???

Unfortunately, it keeps me at whatever rank when I deleted the old game( I even uninstalled the game and re installed without using saved data and it still kept my S/S ranking). Starting a new game deletes Car Garage, ME gear, ME points, photos, replays, Circuit Experience and all achievements. Liveries remain, I can apply them, but I can not edit them. User decals remain as well. Daily Workout Gift will be from whatever car I received, before I deleted saves or before I Update the game. Same applies to CE award cars. Naturally, if you purchased cars with real money, they are still accessible.

I haven't found a way to start a new game, as someone that just bought the game. Any tips on that would be appreciated.

You just create another account, so go new user and follow the instructions, you can have multiple accounts on the same PSN subscription, if you want to play in another region you'll need a new email address.

I have my daughter's account as an alt account. Don't use it much.

But you will be one of those guys soon enough lol. You're just warming up. I remember being lapped by you every race years ago. You are one of the cleanest, fastest drivers I've known. Keep at it young man!

I remember now. PURE Flyin Miata series. You, Dr Watson, Outlaw, Wardez, Owen's. Qualifying laps during the week with a steward watching to make sure it was clean. Self grid placement for the race on the weekend. Full damage . Some of you guys , yourself included, ended up being GT Academy finalists. I was way over my head. That was an epic race series.

Is the megane gr.4 glitched or something?! I don't understand. Why does a 350hp FF car have the best acceleration, highest top speed (which only drops off at the end) and the ability for very late braking?

I felt i had an advantage on the mountain, and also under breaking. It could be the driver, but he braked a tad earlier than i did, that is where i passed him. I also noticed the Megane hit its topspeed earlier than the BMW, the only reason i got to notice was that i got a solid exit out of the last corner on the mountain. If he had got of better there his acceleration would have pulled him away :)

And is it just me, or does the cars through the very fast corner feel a bit more on edge with Physics 1.39. I remember them as on rails.

Well I'll be my monkeys kin.

I finally after lots of laps this morning pushed back into the top 10 EU but the 1'59's are playing hard to get with me :banghead: Got it down to a 2'00.003 so I'm probably close to my optimal time with this event. It's not easy to keep the speed throughout the lap... one bad timing on the gears or a little slide in the turns and the laps pretty much over.

Great combo loved chipping away at it!!

Meta car, maybe. But far from unbeatable IMO.

The problem with Megane _IN A RACE_ is that it rewards relatively slow, sloppy driving with considerably low risk; whilst your opponent (in any other car than the Megane) has to be at a peak of his performance to somehow break the slipstream from Megane. 1 sec Δ coming on to a long straight isn't even enough against the Megane, it will catch up inevitably.

On the flipside: when a Megane is on pole, you will not catch it on straights. You will be glued to its rear on the mountain section without the possibility of overtaking and then it just pulls away on conrod and blocks the inside twice, again pulling ahead due to supreme acceleration.

It's 100% a crutch. By picking it you're basically saying: - OK i'm bad but I want to win, bypassing the need to improve.

Down to 2.17.937 at Bathurst... In the FF megane... But you're nuts if you think I'm racing with that much understeer. Thing must be an absolute rocket for me to take almost 2 seconds off my previous lap, considering how sloppy I was from Skyline onwards.

interested to hear people's methods for the downhill; i'm braking in the shadow on the left, down into 3rd for the first two bends, then trail braking through the next 2, then on the power all the way to the hairpin. Feel like the first part could be faster as I'm not on the power much, mostly coasting and light braking.

The Megane is capable of high 2.11. The key is extremely late braking and trail braking into corners; fast-in - slow-out approach almost every time and the understeer isn't a problem at all. -5 brake bias for optimal turn in.

The downhill is all about retaining as much velocity as possible and sliding about with a timely downshift to transfer weight into the hairpin for a fast exit.

Strange I had to use my wife's email and her name just to have a secondary account, which is the one I have been using for a while. I thought I was required to put in a different email address and one that linked to a Google verification, or something like that. I could not use my own details again .... hence with her name there I cannot post race videos etc. She would not like it at all ...

Incidentally I have been sorry for myself because my brakes have been coming on. Touch the clutch pedal - the brakes come on. Then they flickered on the straights. I went into calibration and several times ... I found the brakes are coming on under full throttle!!

This was happening last week - no wonder I could never envisage a non stop at Brands. I lost DR last week and while I crashed a fair bit, it was because I was spending too much time in my Alfa in the pits getting fuel - and coming out amidst traffic. I was often 1st, 2nd or 3rd, then into the pits and because of the brakes being on under full throttle, I was there quite a while!!!

I now need to fiddle with the mechanics of my pedals. I have a second set of pedals that were faulty on delivery, I never sent them back, but I will now. I need them. Time to read the manual again on my pedal set too, I have not worried about settings, now its time I guess. This is almost like a real racing team ... with a bad Team Principle - me!! :dunce:

Down to a 2.17.169 in the TT... i will now go into full F2 Kit Car Maximum Attack with the Megane.

Thanks for the tips @AUTISTICBOYX

Capable of doing a 2.11, you say? That may well be true, but am I capable of it?

Real Weight Transfer Scandi Flick hours... Will report how I do.

But but... I like the TCR Megane and Alfa. That's why I made it with an Alfa livery. *sniff sniff*
Plus, My wife owned a Trophy+. Awesome road car.

So what are the benefits of starting a new game?
I've been starting new games since GT1. Once I feel I've done everything in the game, it's just the same thing over and over. I just restart out of boredom and to get that fresh game feeling again.

As a side, I think it was Forza 3 or 4 where the game kept changing the career mode events, each time you completed. Wish GT would switch things up like that, in GT League.

Yeah, nah, to be frank, **** the megane. Quick it may be but after 5 laps with the BB forward (for sure better turn in) I'm still bodging at least one corner a lap with the understeer, either the Chase, top of the mountain or the bottom hairpin.

This car might be capable of 2.11, but I ain't. Unsurprising to be fair; I've never so much as sniffed a top time.

the ordeal I just put myself through reminds me strongly of F2 kit car on DiRT 4; absolutely abhorrent levels of understeer. How the **** are people driving this thing. I could lean my foot out the door around corners and push and it would turn better.

Wow, the sensation of understeer makes me physically angry. I want to punch that car, and it wasn't even that disastrous :p

Mustang seems to be putting in good times. Might try that; at least the correct wheels are being driven.

The way I am learning to handle understeering cars is to turn in early. And not worry so much about any balance issues ... its not the way I like to drive though, I like to use the throttle to steer. With these FWD cars, I reckon the throttle would be useful to control wheel spin from the front with all that power PD award these ridiculous cars. PD appear not to be fans of throttle steer at Bathurst, I am guessing its due to the majority of players using hand controllers?

If I fix my problems with my setup, I will try to race the Lexus. If I get clobbered, then I guess I'll have to go to the garage thing and buy a Megane ...

Why can't we sell cars in GTS?

AWD lovers might have something to say about which wheels should be driven. ;) I was keeping a Mustang behind, while me(in the WRX) and a GT-R pulled away. However, kudos to that MUstang driver, as it is the first time someone behind me backed off, while the car in front was out of shape for a few turns.👍

For FF, using off throttle turn in is the quickest way for me. Plus, 3rd gear pulls seem to ease stationary time. Bought me a MUstang to relive the glory days. Suspension ain't pillow soft like the RC F, but that torque keeps it in the game.
