Straight 8... Glorious, sounds lovely. Didn't the Duesenbergs have straight 8s? They sound like prop planes.

Reminds me of a story my dad has - he worked for a used car salesman and made a delivery of a Jaguar XJS V12 - or at least, a V12 on the straights. When he went around corners the offside cylinder bank would drop out, momentarily making it a 45 degree inclined straight six. I wish GT could simulate that ^.^

She had it on a battery charger so I didn’t get to hear it running, that would have been really cool. The battery is some weird looking though, it’s on the right side and was only like 6” wide, but around 24-30” long, super oddly shaped. She said she has a relative that comes by and takes her for drives in it every other week to keep it in working condition. :)

Why did they cut out around corners? That’s really weird, or was that normal back then?

4 desert races in a row. No GTP friends. Anyone else coming? It's getting good now. 595 points for finishing 4th! 👍

Nice work! I’ll be out soon, just gotta eat and warm up.

What places have you been starting?

Averaging P3 start. Just got 700+ for 3rd place finish.

Realizing the benefit of doing 300+ laps. Even with an increasing B.A.C., my thumbs still know what to do.

Any EMEA folk planning on racing late tonight? For the first time in a long time I might actually get online, will be in the small hours though. I've got a time set for race A so can jump straight in there, but if anyone I know is doing race B I'll try to set a respectable qualy time and see you there. Think I've had too much to drink for race C though, I struggle with group 1 at the best of times!

I am constantly cheating. I did actually try to jump my car from turn 3 to turn 5, but it doesn't work. :grumpy:
After 100 laps, I was not very close to 1:16. I just started to get into the 1:16s this morning. I've done it about 4 or 5 times now, but I've probably logged about 300, or so laps since this race was announced last week.
You just need to try it about 200 more times. 👍

I think you and the track get along since you both reside in the same state

Bingo! Drive off instinct so your brain can focus on racing. ;)

I find the TS030 TO BE GOOD FOR A NO STOPPER. You can absolutely thrash that car around the track will make on fuel and tires will be good. Not as fast as the 50 but does not have that annoying oversteer in tight corners

The 030 is rear drive only, correct? Should mean the fronts don't get quite as much wear, giving slightly better cornering pace in the latter laps. In theory, at least . .

I'll have find a nice livery for it and give it shot when I get home, tomorrow.

YES some R18 will go by at the start and drive off a little but I am quickly back on them and go around lap 4 or 5.

3 races last night DR s/a+/a SR s rooms started around 5/7 finished 2 2 3 with a no stop I am currently at A/S FOR RATING

Although that dude from the Beastie Boys was there, MCA.

"Now my name is MCA. I got a license to kill. I think you know what time it is. It's time to get ill". :)

Ya'll got subwoofers? Crank em up!

Ok that's it. I'm switching cars.

That's the only thing I don't like about the R18. Pace is great in the first 3rd/half of the race, then it drops off pretty quick due to front tyre wear.

Of course, part of that could be my driving style.

Just saw your reply. I jumped into this lobby lol

Great racing with you guys!! I couldn’t get around the NSX in order to attempt a run on you, great race! I did somehow manage a 16.6 for FL though? Must have been the draft.

Only got 200 bucks for that one. That wasn’t nearly as stacked of a room as the first one in the bottom half of the field.

I’m gonna do one more and then I have to go out for a few minutes, I’ll be back though. :)

Edit: Great Race @Winnie847 !! I couldn’t even come close to catching you, very well done man! Always a pleasure.

Got 500 bucks for a 4th place finish in that one, up to 47.1 now, that was a stronger overall field in that race. :)

Man, the customer I’m working for right now showed us her antique car today after work, wow! She’s got a 1940 Buick Soup(I think that’s what she called it?), it’s Navy Blue, has a straight 8, 3 on the tree and is completely original other than a new convertible( Rene colour) top she had made for it last year, she’s owned it since 1965, what a beautiful car!! :)

Sounds like a Buick Super. That's what they named them back then.

And the battery was only 6V of electrical power.

Imagine my disappointment when this dude wasn't in the next race.

I'd imagine some people have a list of those that deserve vengeance.

As promised, I return to Tsukuba in search of glory... Cranking the TCS to 5, I went full chuck mode and found nearly a whole second, netting a tidy 56.666. I'm a full second faster than the guy on my friends list who taught me to drive. Damn, I'm getting better...

So, start P3, the same as my last attempt where I was unceremoniously punted off at the Dunlop Bridge. There's a little argy bargy on the opening lap, I'm willing to bet a lot more going on behind me, but everyone settled in pretty quick and room was being given to me and returned. I was trading in and out of second until I made a small mistake at the final hairpin and a Frenchman came through; the two arrows on my radar let me know it was time to start booking it if I wanted to keep my podium. I regained third from the Brit who got passed by the Frenchman, and the Italian who started P9 was making his presence known up in the top group by lap 3. The racing was wheel to wheel between the top 4 most of the rest of the way - I focused on not making mistakes and apexing every corner even if it meant overslowing a little, rather than trying to outbrake the whole group the whole way round. I snuck up the inside at turn 2 to take 2nd, I believe on lap 4.

The Italian overachiever was making a few little errors, not quite getting the kart turned in to the apex, and going a little wide in places. My internal MAX ATTACK switch flicked to on, as I started to make gains and position my kart in his back pocket. Gaining a little too much ground through the flat-out middle section, I went to the outside and the grass to avoid punting my Italian friend off track, with mixed success - we touched but at the slowest point of the corner and it didn't seem to affect him, but I think he had outbraked himself a little as he went wide in the latter part of the corner and I got the cutback - then it was a simple matter of bringing it home!

An overdue win, with battling the whole way around and no ugly incident to hang a black mark over it. I'd like to shoutout the Italian I beat - I apologised for the tap post race and he was very polite about it. It's given a bit of relief to my DR slide, too, I'm now C and three quarters, back up from a half full bar, and heading towards my rightful place at the bottom end of B. This combo might honestly have provided the best racing I've had on GTS, and the three I've done have been far less dirty than I expected to see here.

Always pushing, always improving... Win #5.

What I don’t get is why it says you’ve ”ignored” track limits instead of saying you’ve “exceeded” track limits, the word ignore implies that you did it on purpose does it not?
Hey bro, what BB are you running with the TT?

Edit 2: Yeah Baby! Another 700 Bucks in the bank, up to 47.8k now. I was just minding my
Own business in 4th when the two guys ahead collided and opened up a hole for me. :)
