Nice! It does, going back to having no cars or money is strange. Did you qualify? I think I’ll Q tonight before going at it again, I just want to build this account up quickly. Maybe I’ll go at race A tonight instead, how’s the racing there?
It feels so weird, but at the same time, the rush of experiencing it all like if you are new to the game feels so nice. Brings me back to when I finally got my hands on GTSport. First GT game since GT4 lol.

Nope, not qualifying yet. I'm just throwing myself into the A race and hoping I don't win penalties. A lot harder than I thought lol, but it's doable. 2 of 2 penalty-free races.

I'm entering race 3 of 5 right now. I should finally be able to start getting DR and SR after the 5th race, so I'll call it a night after that.

Uhhhh the racing takes me back to the GTA days: chaotic.

@watto79 Good advice. I'll need those credits for the Gr. Cars.

I imagine you're basically disappearing into the distance with your pace, but given my 1 minute experience of race A I'd say you've been extremely lucky and suggest you get out now before you catch the harsh end of the punishment stick for someone else's total lack of awareness like I just did.

Not that I'm bitter, or anything. Also add me with your EMEA account! I always need more times to chase.

Funny you say that. Lap 2 on my third race just now, some idiot punts me at the hairpin. I get a 5 sec penalty for hitting the barrier, he is now at 8 seconds penalty, and he rage quits lol.

Ended up just behind 3rd, but hey, I'm still going up positions. :D

I'll add you right now!

Spotted this on the Facebook group for GTS. Looks like someone found a way to glitch the WideBoi™ into race A :odd:

@MaxAttack, I just sent a request your way :) Anyone else wishing to add me, feel free to do so, I have access to the app so I can accept requests right away :)

A remnant of the late Dec. 2018 Gr. 3 race there made its appearance.

E: The Big One happened, I missed my braking point, I hit the barrier and get a penalty. Whoops lol

Just ragequit a race for only the 3rd time ever. Race A, started 3rd. Gained on the top 2 a little coming out of the tunnel. Went alongside 2nd to brake for the right hander before the chicane. Braked at the bridge and made the gap. Guy I was passing turned in on me and i was sent into the outside wall. Instant SR down, 2 second penalty. I yeeted the chicane in anger and got another 5 for hitting the wall.

**** off, penalty system. If I'm gonna get 2s penalty for being brave, making a valid move but the other driver isn't paying attention, then race A can **** right off.

I am **** at group 3 and yamagiwa so I guess I'll try for race C at Suzuka - where I am utterly awful if I wanna do any racing this week. 0 - boiling blood in record time. **** off do I need a time penalty for that, I already lost over 2s when the blind idiot turned in on me.

DR didn't seem to take a hit and I'm still SR S, so I guess the game had the good foresight not to completely **** me.

Sounds just like my first race A this week i was descripting. Give race A a change - just dont be too brave or aggressive. That 930 turbo is called "The Widow Maker" for a reason and penalties in Tokyo will suck the bravery out of anyone trying..

I think ill also add you in psn - just because you seem to appreciated the great finnish rally drivers. Those were the days..👍

Btw gravel on GTS is decent with current physics.

Bravery is my bread and butter. It really was a case of no other option - p1 and p2 were side by side through the flat out section after the hairpin and thus losing time through each bend, as I had the ideal line and already a 2s gap back to p4 where I assume some crashing and funny business had happened. This was lap 1. I had so much extra momentum coming up to the corner and got alongside well before the braking point. He just didn't see me - it's an honest mistake and hopefully he learns to use radar, but still, it's a pain in the ass to take a 2s penalty for going for that gap, I easily had the corner and "not being too brave or aggressive" would have meant braking about 100m before the actual braking zone which is a little much to ask when the space is there.

i can handle my moves not going well or not paying off, but the fact is I already took enough disadvantage getting turned into, then hitting the wall. A time penalty adds nothing in the way of fairness for the other driver, only frustration for me. I didn't stick around to find out but I presume he took a time penalty as well which probably ruined his race. I am not usually one to be overly critical of the penalty system, I understand how difficult a thing it is to program, but we had already cost each other plenty of time by my aggression and his lack of awareness, what does a time penalty add to that? Neither of us gained a position or any time. We couldn't have obstructed the race as P4 was over 2s behind at that time.

I won't be coaxed out of taking a gap that's there for fear of penalties or drivers not seeing me. I'm gonna get my nose in there and deal with the consequences, but when they're clearly going to be totally disproportionate, I'm just not gonna race there.

i appreciate the advice - and the add, which I'll accept (yes, I am a big Finn driver fan - Vatanen, Alen, Makkinen etc, as well as Kimi and Mika of course :)) - but my name is MaxAttack, and if I'm not being brave in the car I'm not being true to myself!

Hi I’m new to this can anybody tell me how find my dr rating please

Daily A wall penalty 5sec in the tunnel where everyone are going flat out . Is about the same with my wife and other girls , i can flirt with them but if i bang them i loose everything i got  so flirt with the wall is ok but dont hit them . I like the 930 the track is not bad but that chicane OMG it's like throwing a pair of dice you never know

I can respect that bravery - its the very thing that got finnish drivers so far. The mysterious thing we here call "sisu" is just that. (if you have seen Häkkinen in Top Gear) Sadly either younger finnish drivers have lost sisu or it doesnt work in todays engineer racing. :indiff: last i saw sisu was Bottas overtaking Hamilton at silverstone and the famous " to whom it may concern" from him earlier this season. I do have high hopes from Kalle Rovanperä - hes an old school finn on gravel.:D

This race A combo though seem to be one that rewards the cautious one. Learned it the hard way..:ouch::lol:

Kalle needs to be in a Toyota already

Steve McQueen is my co-driver. I learned a lot from watching Le Mans. I learned that Porsche's strategy is to use only the drivers with the greatest chance of crashing in their line up. I learned that PD can go 🤬 themselves, the whole idea of SR is a sham. Motor racing is a professional blood sport , and repeatedly crashing into the side of your competitors is a legit strategy for allowing your faster team mate to win.

Remember.... racing is life. Anything before or after is just waiting (looks at @Sven Jurgens ... how long till the next race once you finish one ?).

I keep saying it but damn i feel slow since they changed the physics. I am mired at around 23K points and was once as high as 35K. There's just so much understeer on the gas, Yamagiwa is painful with all the long corners, tap the gas and whooooomph towards the wall, qualied with a 36 flat but still struggling to keep up with DRB and SRS drivers.

You kind of have to learn to coast a bit leading into some Corners now, more so then before. I always thought a car was supposed to turn a little better with a small amount of throttle applied vs coasting but GTS doesn’t seem to work that way now. :)

Once the turn is initiated a small amount of throttle will help rotation even on this physics. Just be gentle, almost impossible with buttons as gas, needs triggers. (Or pedals)

Edit: I find that a positive BB and trailbraking helps stabilization on turns.

I am using the buttons so i tap tap tap away. I do find the cars are now more skittish on turn in too, the back end steps out more and they sort of wiggle going through esses.

Is there any way to know if my connection would be good on another region's server. If I'm lagging and bouncing all over the place from other people's viewpoint, I wouldn't want to bother with it. Just wouldn't be fair to others.

You can check your ping but that doesn't tell the whole story. It's the jitter that determines how erratic your car behaves on track and that gets worse with distance or rather the number of hops. It's also not very consistent but over time you can tell when cars get phantom punted in front of you or make weird manoevers to avoid your car.

I did a ping test before and this is what you are 'invading'
of9d.jpg

Glorious low ping Europe

With:

You will be the worst for sure in a low ping environment. (There's also South Africa racing in Europe but I assume there's not many of them)

Or for Oceania:

Australia is already at a disadvantage to Tokyo

This is what us Americans are used to

Brazil has crap internet and we all love racing those wobbly cars. If you're racing in another region you become one of them ;)

Thank you, Sven. I'm a bit ignorant on the subject. I'm don't really know what those numbers mean. It looks like the lower the number, the better the connection? So the number between Los Angeles and Brasilia is 185, and the number between Los Angeles and Tokyo is 107. I don't really see laggy cars on the track very often. So, if the Brazilians in my races are connected well with me, then does that mean that I would likely connect well with the Japanese?

How does one make an alternative account?

Nonsense. The French love it when you bring up WW2 in the pre-race chat.

He's flying a British flag, claiming to be Welsh. Don't think WW2, think Agincourt ;)

Australia is already at a disadvantage to Tokyo

Yeh, yellow bars is the best we can manage, and my races are usually mostly Japanese. I discovered that most of the Australians are hidden in DR/B or SR/B.

When you turn on your ps4, select create new profile. I believe you got to have a different email address for it (someone correct that if wrong). Don’t worry about psn plus since your main account has it.

A couple of races for the Adidas team. First off I like to say people can’t drive this track lol. Some dude had the bright idea trying to go 3 wide on the left (I was in the middle) at the 3 chicanes. He tried to avoid going off and hit me.

My last race I did better and came in second:

Another late start today, 1100 is my first go. Trimmed my time ever so slightly in the warm up and got an opt of 12.9xx. Got pole, wish me luck....

That was horriawful lol first lap was ok, but second lap was like i was on "dirty" tires... picked up 10 sec in penalties bouncing off the wall a few times. I bounced out into someons path at one point, felt really bad about that one. Also rear ended (hehe)(yes i am a child) someone into the chicane cuse i just couldn't slow down enough. He actually apologize to me after, i said it was my fault not his. Possibly a guy from here, i do recognise the name but not sure if it is from here or from seeing him in races before.... anyway, i got a 4 sec penalty for that one, and ended up in last. I hope the next one is better, can't be worse can it lol

Whoops, I thought Wales was in Britain? My geography sucks as you can tell, I’ll have to fix that then.
